< هوشع 12 >

افرایم باد را می‌خورد و باد شرقی راتعاقب می‌کند. تمامی روز دروغ وخرابی را می‌افزاید و ایشان با آشور عهد می‌بندندو روغن (به جهت هدیه ) به مصر برده می‌شود. ۱ 1
Ephraim feedeth on wind, and followeth after the east wind: he daily multiplieth lies and desolation; and they do make a covenant with the Assyrians, and oil is carried into Egypt.
خداوند را با یهودا مخاصمه‌ای است و یعقوب را برحسب راههایش عقوبت رسانیده، بر وفق اعمالش او را جزا خواهد داد. ۲ 2
The LORD hath also a controversy with Judah, and will punish Jacob according to his ways; according to his doings will he recompense him.
او پاشنه برادرخود را در رحم گرفت و در حین قوتش با خدامجاهده نمود. ۳ 3
He took his brother by the heel in the womb, and by his strength he had power with God:
با فرشته مجاهده نموده، غالب آمد. گریان شده، نزد وی تضرع نمود. دربیت ئیل او را یافت و در آنجا با ما تکلم نمود. ۴ 4
Yes, he had power over the angel, and prevailed: he wept, and made supplication to him: he found him [in] Beth-el, and there he spoke with us;
اما خداوند، خدای لشکرهاست و یادگاری او یهوه است. ۵ 5
Even the LORD God of hosts; the LORD [is] his memorial.
اما تو بسوی خدای خودبازگشت نما و رحمت و راستی را نگاه داشته، دائم منتظر خدای خود باش. ۶ 6
Therefore turn thou to thy God: keep mercy and judgment, and wait on thy God continually.
او سوداگری است که میزان فریب در دست او می‌باشد وظلم را دوست می‌دارد. ۷ 7
[He is] a merchant, the balances of deceit [are] in his hand: he loveth to oppress.
و افرایم می‌گوید: «به درستی که دولتمند شده‌ام و توانگری رابرای خود تحصیل نموده‌ام و در تمامی کسب من بی‌انصافی‌ای که گناه باشد، در من نخواهند یافت.» ۸ 8
And Ephraim said, Yet I have become rich, I have found for myself substance: [in] all my labors they shall find no iniquity in me that [were] sin.
اما من از زمین مصر (تا حال )یهوه خدای تو هستم و تو را بار دیگر مثل ایام مواسم در خیمه‌ها ساکن خواهم گردانید. ۹ 9
And I [that am] the LORD thy God from the land of Egypt will yet make thee to dwell in tabernacles, as in the days of the solemn feast.
به انبیا نیز تکلم نمودم و رویاها افزودم وبواسطه انبیا مثل‌ها زدم. ۱۰ 10
I have also spoken by the prophets, and I have multiplied visions, and used similitudes by the ministry of the prophets.
به درستی که ایشان در جلعاد محض گناه و بطالت گردیدند و درجلجال گاوها قربانی کردند. و مذبح های ایشان نیز مثل توده های سنگ در شیارهای زمین می‌باشد. ۱۱ 11
[Is there] iniquity [in] Gilead? surely they are vanity: they sacrifice bullocks in Gilgal; yes, their altars [are] as heaps in the furrows of the fields.
و یعقوب به زمین ارام فرار کرد و اسرائیل به جهت زن خدمت نمود و برای زن شبانی کرد. ۱۲ 12
And Jacob fled into the country of Syria, and Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he kept [sheep].
و خداوند اسرائیل را بواسطه نبی از مصربرآورد و او به‌دست نبی محفوظ گردید. ۱۳ 13
And by a prophet the LORD brought Israel out of Egypt, and by a prophet was he preserved.
افرایم خشم بسیار تلخی به هیجان آورد، پس خداوندش خون او را بر سرش واگذاشت و عار اورا بر وی رد نمود. ۱۴ 14
Ephraim provoked [him] to anger most bitterly: therefore will he leave his blood upon him, and his reproach will his Lord return to him.
