هوشع 11

۱ 1 هنگامی که اسرائیل طفل بود او رادوست داشتم و پسر خود را از مصرخواندم.

When Israel was a child, then I loved him, and called my son out of Egypt.

۲ 2 هر قدر که ایشان را بیشتر دعوت کردند، بیشتر از ایشان دور رفتند و برای بعلیم قربانی گذرانیدند و به جهت بتهای تراشیده بخورسوزانیدند.

The more [the prophets] called them, the more they went from them: they sacrificed unto the Baalim, and burned incense to graven images.

۳ 3 و من راه رفتن را به افرایم تعلیم دادم و او را به بازوها برداشتم، اما ایشان ندانستند که من ایشان را شفا داده‌ام.

Yet I taught Ephraim to walk; I took them on my arms; but they knew not that I healed them.

۴ 4 ایشان را به ریسمانهای انسان و به بندهای محبت جذب نمودم و به جهت ایشان مثل کسانی بودم که یوغ را از گردن ایشان برمی دارند و خوراک پیش روی ایشان نهادم.

I drew them with cords of a man, with bands of love; and I was to them as they that lift up the yoke on their jaws; and I laid food before them.

۵ 5 به زمین مصر نخواهد برگشت، اما آشورپادشاه ایشان خواهد شد چونکه از بازگشت نمودن ابا کردند.

They shall not return into the land of Egypt; but the Assyrian shall be their king, because they refused to return [to me].

۶ 6 شمشیر بر شهرهایش هجوم خواهد آورد و پشت بندهایش را به‌سبب مشورت های ایشان معدوم و نابود خواهدساخت.

And the sword shall fall upon their cities, and shall consume their bars, and devour [them], because of their own counsels.

۷ 7 و قوم من جازم شدند که از من مرتدگردند. و هر‌چند ایشان را بسوی حضرت اعلی دعوت نمایند لکن کسی خویشتن رابرنمی افرازد.

And my people are bent on backsliding from me: though they call them to [him that is] on high, none at all will exalt [him].

۸ 8 ‌ای افرایم چگونه تو را ترک کنم و‌ای اسرائیل چگونه تو را تسلیم نمایم؟ چگونه تو رامثل ادمه نمایم و تو را مثل صبوئیم سازم؟ دل من در اندرونم منقلب شده و رقت های من با هم مشتعل شده است.

How shall I give thee up, Ephraim? [how] shall I cast thee off, Israel? how shall I make thee as Admah? [how] shall I set thee as Zeboiim? my heart is turned within me, my compassions are kindled together.

۹ 9 حدت خشم خود را جاری نخواهم ساخت و بار دیگر افرایم را هلاک نخواهم نمود زیرا خدا هستم وانسان نی و درمیان تو قدوس هستم، پس به غضب نخواهم آمد.

I will not execute the fierceness of mine anger, I will not return to destroy Ephraim: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in the midst of thee; and I will not come in wrath.

۱۰ 10 ایشان خداوند را پیروی خواهند نمود. اومثل شیر غرش خواهد نمود و چون غرش نماید فرزندان از مغرب به لرزه خواهند آمد.

They shall walk after Jehovah, who will roar like a lion; for he will roar, and the children shall come trembling from the west.

۱۱ 11 مثل مرغان از مصر و مانند کبوتران از زمین آشور لرزان خواهند آمد. خداوند می‌گوید که ایشان را در خانه های ایشان ساکن خواهم گردانید.

They shall come trembling as a bird out of Egypt, and as a dove out of the land of Assyria; and I will make them to dwell in their houses, saith Jehovah.

۱۲ 12 افرایم مرا به دروغها و خاندان اسرائیل به مکرها احاطه کرده‌اند و یهودا هنوز با خدا و باقدوس امین ناپایدار است.

Ephraim compasseth me about with falsehood, and the house of Israel with deceit; but Judah yet ruleth with God, and is faithful with the Holy One.
