عبرانیان 5

۱ 1 زیرا که هر رئیس کهنه از میان آدمیان گرفته شده، برای آدمیان مقرر می‌شود در امورالهی تا هدایا و قربانی‌ها برای گناهان بگذراند؛

For every high priest taken from among the people is appointed to represent the people in matters related to God, to offer gifts and sacrifices for sins.

۲ 2 که با جاهلان و گمراهان می‌تواند ملایمت کند، چونکه او نیز در کمزوری گرفته شده است.

He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and going astray, since he himself is subject to weakness.

۳ 3 و به‌سبب این کمزوری، او را لازم است چنانکه برای قوم، همچنین برای خویشتن نیز قربانی برای گناهان بگذراند.

That is why he is obligated to offer sacrifices for his own sins, as well as for the sins of the people.

۴ 4 و کسی این مرتبه را برای خودنمی گیرد، مگر وقتی که خدا او را بخواند، چنانکه هارون را.

No one takes this honor for himself, but receives it when he is called by God, just as Aaron was.

۵ 5 و همچنین مسیح نیز خود را جلال نداد که رئیس کهنه بشود، بلکه او که به وی گفت: «تو پسر من هستی؛ من امروز تو را تولید نمودم.»

In the same way, Christ did not glorify himself in becoming a high priest, but was appointed by the one who said to him, “Yoʋ are my Son; today I have begotten yoʋ.”

۶ 6 چنانکه در مقام دیگر نیز می‌گوید: «تو تا به ابدکاهن هستی بر رتبه ملکیصدق.» (aiōn g165)

And in another passage he says, “Yoʋ are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.” (aiōn g165)

۷ 7 و او در ایام بشریت خود، چونکه با فریادشدید و اشکها نزد او که به رهانیدنش از موت قادر بود، تضرع و دعای بسیار کرد و به‌سبب تقوای خویش مستجاب گردید،

In the days of his flesh, Jesus offered up prayers and supplications, with loud cries and tears, to the one who was able to save him from death, and he was heard because of his reverence.

۸ 8 هر‌چند پسربود، به مصیبتهایی که کشید، اطاعت را آموخت

Even though he was the Son, he learned obedience from what he suffered.

۹ 9 و کامل شده، جمیع مطیعان خود را سبب نجات جاودانی گشت. (aiōnios g166)

And having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him (aiōnios g166)

۱۰ 10 و خدا او را به رئیس کهنه مخاطب ساخت به رتبه ملکیصدق.

and was designated by God as a high priest according to the order of Melchizedek.

۱۱ 11 که درباره او ما را سخنان بسیار است که شرح آنها مشکل می‌باشد چونکه گوشهای شماسنگین شده است.

On this topic we have much to say, and it is hard to explain, since you have become sluggish in hearing.

۱۲ 12 زیرا که هر‌چند با این طول زمان شما را می‌باید معلمان باشید، باز محتاجیدکه کسی اصول و مبادی الهامات خدا را به شمابیاموزد و محتاج شیر شدید نه غذای قوی.

For though you ought to be teachers by this time, you need someone to teach you again the basic principles of the oracles of God. You need milk, not solid food.

۱۳ 13 زیرا هر‌که شیرخواره باشد، در کلام عدالت ناآزموده است، چونکه طفل است.

Anyone who lives on milk is unacquainted with the teaching about righteousness, for he is an infant.

۱۴ 14 اما غذای قوی از آن بالغان است که حواس خود را به موجب عادت، ریاضت داده‌اند تا تمییز نیک و بدرا بکنند.

But solid food is for the mature, whose faculties have been trained by practice to distinguish between good and evil.
