حَجّای 2

۱ 1 در روز بیست و یکم ماه هفتم، کلام خداوند بواسطه حجی نبی نازل شده، گفت:

And in the seventh month, the word of the Lord came by the hand of Aggeus the prophet, saying:

۲ 2 زربابل بن شالتیئیل والی یهودا و یهوشع بن یهوصادق رئیس کهنه، و بقیه قوم را خطاب کرده، بگو:

Speak to Zorobabel the son of Salathiel the governor of Juda, and to Jesus the son of Josedec the high priest, and to the rest of the people, saying:

۳ 3 کیست در میان شما که باقی‌مانده واین خانه را در جلال نخستینش دیده باشد؟ پس الان در نظر شما چگونه می‌نماید؟ آیا در نظر شماناچیز نمی نماید؟

Who is left among you, that saw this house in its first glory? and how do you see it now? is it not in comparison to that as nothing in your eyes?

۴ 4 اما الان خداوند می‌گوید: ای زربابل قوی‌دل باش و‌ای یهوشع بن یهوصادق رئیس کهنه قوی‌دل باش و‌ای تمامی قوم زمین قوی‌دل باشید و خداوند می‌فرماید که مشغول بشوید زیرا که من با شما هستم. قول یهوه صبایوت این است.

Yet now take courage, O Zorobabel, saith the Lord, and take courage, O Jesus the son of Josedec the high priest, and take courage, all ye people of the land, saith the Lord of hosts: and perform (for I am with you, saith the Lord of hosts)

۵ 5 برحسب کلام آن عهدی که در حین بیرون آوردن شما از مصر با شما بستم وچونکه روح من در میان شما قایم می‌باشد، ترسان مباشید.

The word that I covenanted with you when you came out of the land of Egypt: and my spirit shall be in the midst of you: fear not.

۶ 6 زیرا که یهوه صبایوت چنین می‌گوید: یک دفعه دیگر و آن نیز بعد از اندک زمانی، آسمانها و زمین و دریا و خشکی را متزلزل خواهم ساخت.

For thus saith the Lord of hosts: Yet one little while, and I will move the heaven and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land.

۷ 7 و تمامی امت‌ها را متزلزل خواهم ساخت و فضیلت جمیع امت‌ها خواهندآمد و یهوه صبایوت می‌گوید که این خانه را ازجلال پر خواهم ساخت.

And I will move all nations: AND THE DESIRED OF ALL NATIONS SHALL COME: and I will fill this house with glory: saith the Lord of hosts.

۸ 8 یهوه صبایوت می‌گوید: نقره از آن من و طلا از آن من است.

The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the Lord of hosts.

۹ 9 یهوه صبایوت می‌گوید: جلال آخر این خانه ازجلال نخستینش عظیم تر خواهد بود و در این مکان، سلامتی را خواهم بخشید. قول یهوه صبایوت این است.

Great shall be the glory of this last house more than of the first, saith the Lord of hosts: and in this place I will give peace, saith the Lord of hosts.

۱۰ 10 در روز بیست و چهارم ماه نهم از سال دوم داریوش، کلام خداوند بواسطه حجی نبی نازل شده، گفت:

In the four and twentieth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius the king, the word of the Lord came to Aggeus the prophet, saying:

۱۱ 11 یهوه صبایوت چنین می‌گوید: ازکاهنان درباره شریعت سوال کن و بپرس.

Thus saith the Lord of hosts: Ask the priests the law, saying:

۱۲ 12 اگرکسی گوشت مقدس را در دامن جامه خود برداردو دامنش به نان یا آش یا شراب یا روغن یا به هرقسم خوراک دیگر برخورد، آیا آن مقدس خواهد شد؟ و کاهنان جواب دادند که نی.

If a man carry sanctified flesh in the skirt of his garment, and touch with his skirt, bread, or pottage, or wine, or oil, or any meat: shall it be sanctified? And the priests answered, and said: No.

۱۳ 13 پس حجی پرسید: اگر کسی‌که از میتی نجس شده باشد یکی از اینها را لمس نماید آیا آن نجس خواهد شد؟ و کاهنان در جواب گفتند که نجس خواهد شد.

And Aggeus said: If one that is unclean by occasion of a soul touch any of all these things, shall it be defiled? And the priests answered, and said: It shall be defiled.

۱۴ 14 پس حجی تکلم نموده، گفت: خداوند می‌فرماید این قوم همچنین هستند و این امت به نظر من همچنین می‌باشند و همه اعمال دستهای ایشان چنین است و هر هدیه‌ای که درآنجا می‌برند نجس می‌باشد.

And Aggeus answered, and said: So is this people, and so is this nation before my face, saith the Lord, and so is all the work of their hands: and all that they have offered there, shall be defiled.

۱۵ 15 و الان دل خود رامشغول سازید از این‌روز و قبل از این، پیش ازآنکه سنگی برسنگی در هیکل خداوند گذاشته شود.

And now consider in your hearts, from this day and upward, before there was a stone laid upon a stone in the temple of the Lord.

۱۶ 16 در تمامی این ایام چون کسی به توده بیست (من ) می‌آمد فقط ده (من ) بود و چون کسی به میخانه می‌آمد تا پنجاه رطل از آن بکشد، فقطبیست رطل بود.

When you went to a heap of twenty bushels, and they became ten: and you went into the press, to press out fifty vessels, and they became twenty.

۱۷ 17 و شما را و تمامی اعمال دستهای شما را به باد سموم و یرقان و تگرگ زدم. لیکن خداوند می‌گوید بسوی من بازگشت ننمودید.

I struck you with a blasting wind, and all the works of your hand with the mildew and with hail, yet there was none among you that returned to me, saith the Lord.

۱۸ 18 الان دل خود را مشغول سازید از این‌روز به بعد، یعنی از روز بیست و چهارم ماه نهم، از روزی که بنیاد هیکل خداوند نهاده شد، دل خود را مشغول سازید.

Set your hearts from this day, and henceforward, from the four and twentieth day of the ninth month: from the day that the foundations of the temple of the Lord were laid, and lay it up in your hearts.

۱۹ 19 آیا تخم هنوز در انباراست و مو و انجیر و انار و درخت زیتون هنوزمیوه خود را نیاورده‌اند؟ از این‌روز برکت خواهم داد.

Is the seed as yet sprung up? or hath the vine, and the fig tree, and the pomegranate, and the olive tree as yet flourished? from this day I will bless you.

۲۰ 20 و کلام خداوند بار دوم در بیست و چهارم ماه بر حجی نازل شده، گفت:

And the word of the Lord came a second time to Aggeus in the four and twentieth day of the month, saying:

۲۱ 21 زربابل والی یهودا را خطاب کرده، بگو: من آسمانها و زمین رامتزلزل خواهم ساخت.

Speak to Zorobabel the governor of Juda, saying: I will move both heaven and earth.

۲۲ 22 و کرسی ممالک را واژگون خواهم نمود و قوت ممالک امت‌ها راهلاک خواهم ساخت و ارابه‌ها و سواران آنها راسرنگون خواهم کرد و اسبها و سواران آنها به شمشیر یکدیگر خواهند افتاد.

And I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms, and will destroy the strength of the kingdom of the Gentiles: and I will overthrow the chariot, and him that rideth therein: and the horses and their riders shall come down, every one by the sword of his brother.

۲۳ 23 یهوه صبایوت می گوید: در آن روز‌ای بنده من زربابل بن شالتیئیل، تو را خواهم گرفت و خداوند می‌گویدکه تو را مثل نگین خاتم خواهم ساخت زیرا که من تو را برگزیده‌ام. قول یهوه صبایوت این است. می گوید: در آن روز‌ای بنده من زربابل بن شالتیئیل، تو را خواهم گرفت و خداوند می‌گویدکه تو را مثل نگین خاتم خواهم ساخت زیرا که من تو را برگزیده‌ام. قول یهوه صبایوت این است.

In that day, saith the Lord of hosts, I will take thee, O Zorobabel the son of Salathiel, my servant, saith the Lord, and will make thee as a signet, for I have chosen thee, saith the Lord of hosts.
