پیدایش 26

۱ 1 و قحطی در آن زمین حادث شد، غیرآن قحط اول، که در ایام ابراهیم بود. واسحاق نزد ابی ملک، پادشاه فلسطینیان به جراررفت.

Forsothe for hungur roos on the lond, aftir thilke bareynesse that bifelde in the daies of Abraham, Isaac yede forth to Abymelech, kyng of Palestyns, in Gerara.

۲ 2 و خداوند بر وی ظاهر شده، گفت: «به مصر فرود میا، بلکه به زمینی که به تو بگویم ساکن شو.

And the Lord apperide to hym, and seide, Go not doun in to Egipt, but reste thou in the lond which Y schal seie to thee,

۳ 3 در این زمین توقف نما، و با تو خواهم بود، وتو را برکت خواهم داد، زیرا که به تو و ذریت تو، تمام این زمین را می‌دهم، و سوگندی را که باپدرت ابراهیم خوردم، استوار خواهم داشت.

and be thou a pilgrym ther ynne; and Y schal be with thee, and Y schal blesse thee; for Y schal yyue alle these cuntrees to thee and to thi seed, and Y schal fille the ooth which Y bihiyte to Abraham, thi fadir.

۴ 4 وذریتت را مانند ستارگان آسمان کثیر گردانم، وتمام این زمینها را به ذریت تو بخشم، و از ذریت تو جمیع امتهای جهان برکت خواهند یافت.

And Y schal multiplie thi seed as the sterris of heuene, and Y schal yyue alle these thingis to thin eyris, and alle folkis of erthe schulen be blessid in thi seed, for Abraham obeide to my vois,

۵ 5 زیرا که ابراهیم قول مرا شنید، و وصایا و اوامر وفرایض و احکام مرا نگاه داشت.»

and kepte `my preceptis and comaundementis, and kepte cerymonyes and lawis.

۶ 6 پس اسحاق در جرار اقامت نمود.

And so Ysaac dwellide in Geraris.

۷ 7 و مردمان آن مکان درباره زنش از او جویا شدند. گفت: «او خواهر من است، » زیرا ترسید که بگوید: «زوجه من است، » مبادا اهل آنجا، او را به‌خاطررفقه که نیکومنظر بود، بکشند.

And whanne he was axid of men of that place of his wijf, he answarde, Sche is my sistir; for he dredde to knowleche that sche was felouschipid to hym in matrymonye, and gesside lest peraduenture thei wolden sle him for the fairnesse of hir.

۸ 8 و چون در آنجامدتی توقف نمود، چنان افتاد که ابی ملک، پادشاه فلسطینیان، از دریچه نظاره کرد، و دید که اینک اسحاق با زوجه خود رفقه، مزاح می‌کند.

And whanne ful many daies weren passid, and he dwellide there, Abymelech, kyng of Palestyns, bihelde bi a wyndow, and seiy hym pleiynge with Rebecca, his wijf.

۹ 9 پس ابی ملک، اسحاق را خوانده، گفت: «همانا این زوجه توست! پس چرا گفتی که خواهر من است؟» اسحاق بدو گفت: «زیرا گفتم که مبادابرای وی بمیرم.»

And whanne Isaac was clepid, the kyng seide, It is opyn, that sche is thi wijf; whi liedist thou, that sche was thi sistir? Isaac answerde, Y dredde, lest Y schulde die for hir.

۱۰ 10 ابی ملک گفت: «این چه‌کاراست که با ما کردی؟ نزدیک بود که یکی از قوم، بازوجه ات همخواب شود، و بر ما جرمی آورده باشی.»

And Abymelech seide, Whi hast thou disseyued vs? Sum man of the puple myyte do letcherie with thi wijf, and thou haddist brouyt in greuous synne on vs. And the kyng comaundide to al the puple,

۱۱ 11 و ابی ملک تمامی قوم را قدغن فرموده، گفت: «کسی‌که متعرض این مرد و زوجه‌اش بشود، هر آینه خواهد مرد.»

and seide, He that touchith the wijf of this man schal die bi deeth.

۱۲ 12 و اسحاق در آن زمین زراعت کرد، و در آن سال صد چندان پیدا نمود؛ و خداوند او را برکت داد.

Forsothe Isaac sowide in that lond, and he foond an hundrid fold in that yeer; and the Lord blesside hym.

۱۳ 13 و آن مرد بزرگ شده، آن فان ترقی می‌نمود، تا بسیار بزرگ گردید.

And the man was maad riche, and he yede profitynge and encreessynge til he was maad ful greet.

۱۴ 14 و او را گله گوسفندان و مواشی گاوان و غلامان کثیر بود، وفلسطینیان بر او حسد بردند.

Also he hadde possessioun of scheep and grete beestis, and ful myche of meyne. For this thing Palestyns hadden enuye to hym,

۱۵ 15 و همه چاههایی که نوکران پدرش در ایام پدرش ابراهیم، کنده بودند، فلسطینیان آنها را بستند، و از خاک پرکردند.

and thei stoppiden in that tyme and filliden with erthe alle the pittis whiche the seruauntis of Abraham his fadir hadden diggid,

۱۶ 16 و ابی ملک به اسحاق گفت: «از نزد مابرو، زیرا که از ما بسیار بزرگتر شده‌ای.»

in so myche that Abymelech him silf seide to Ysaac, Go thou awei fro vs, for thou art maad greetly myytier than we.

۱۷ 17 پس اسحاق از آنجا برفت، و در وادی جرارفرود آمده، در آنجا ساکن شد.

And he yede awei, that he schulde come to the stronde of Gerare, and dwelle there.

۱۸ 18 و چاههای آب را، که در ایام پدرش ابراهیم کنده بودند، وفلسطینیان آنها را بعد از وفات ابراهیم بسته بودند، اسحاق از سر نو کند، و آنها را مسمی نمودبه نامهایی که پدرش آنها را نامیده بود.

And he diggide eft other pittis, whiche the seruauntis of Abraham his fadir hadden diggid, and whiche the Filisteis hadden stoppid sumtyme, whanne Abraham was deed; and he clepide tho pittis bi the same names, bi whiche his fadir hadde clepid bifore.

۱۹ 19 ونوکران اسحاق در آن وادی حفره زدند، و چاه آب زنده‌ای در آنجا یافتند.

Thei diggiden in the stronde, and thei founden wellynge watir.

۲۰ 20 و شبانان جرار، باشبانان اسحاق، منازعه کرده، گفتند: «این آب ازآن ماست!» پس آن چاه را عسق نامید، زیرا که باوی منازعه کردند.

But also strijf of scheepherdis of Gerare was there ayens the scheepherdis of Isaac, and thei seiden, The watir is oure; wherfor of that that bifelde he clepide the name of the pit fals chaleng.

۲۱ 21 و چاهی دیگر کندند، همچنان برای آن نیز جنگ کردند، و آن را سطنه نامید.

And thei diggiden anothir, and thei stryueden also for that, and Ysaac clepide that pit enemytes.

۲۲ 22 و از آنجا کوچ کرده، چاهی دیگر کند، وبرای آن جنگ نکردند، پس آن را رحوبوت نامیده، گفت: «که اکنون خداوند ما را وسعت داده است، و در زمین، بارور خواهیم شد.»

And he yede forth fro thennus, and diggide another pit, for which thei stryueden not, therfor he clepid the name of that pit largenesse; and seide, Now God hath alargid vs, and hath maad to encreesse on erthe.

۲۳ 23 پس از آنجا به بئرشبع آمد.

Forsothe he stiede fro that place in to Bersabee,

۲۴ 24 در همان شب، خداوند بر وی ظاهر شده، گفت: «من خدای پدرت، ابراهیم، هستم. ترسان مباش زیراکه من با تو هستم، و تو را برکت می‌دهم، و ذریت تو را بخاطر بنده خود، ابراهیم، فراوان خواهم ساخت.»

where the Lord God apperide to him in that nyyt; and seide, Y am God of Abraham, thi fadir; nyle thou drede, for Y am with thee, and Y schal blesse thee, and Y schal multiplie thi seed for my seruaunt Abraham.

۲۵ 25 و مذبحی در آنجا بنا نهاد و نام یهوه را خواند، و خیمه خود را برپا نمود، و نوکران اسحاق، چاهی در آنجا کندند.

And so Ysaac bildide ther an auter to the Lord; and whanne the name of the Lord was inwardli clepid, he stretchide forth a tabernacle; and he comaundide hise seruauntis that thei schulden digge pittis.

۲۶ 26 و ابی ملک، به اتفاق یکی از اصحاب خود، احزات نام، وفیکول، که سپهسالار او بود، از جرار به نزد اوآمدند.

And whanne Abymelech, and Ochosat, hise frendis, and Ficol, duk of knyytis, hadden come fro Geraris to that place,

۲۷ 27 و اسحاق بدیشان گفت: «چرا نزد من آمدید، با آنکه با من عداوت نمودید، و مرا از نزدخود راندید؟»

Isaac spak to hem, What camen ye to me, a man whom ye hatiden, and puttiden awei fro you?

۲۸ 28 گفتند: «به تحقیق فهمیده‌ایم که خداوند با توست. پس گفتیم سوگندی در میان ماو تو باشد، و عهدی با تو ببندیم.

Whiche answeriden, We seiyen that God is with thee, and therfor we seiden now, An ooth be bitwixe vs, and make we a couenaunt of pees,

۲۹ 29 تا با ما بدی نکنی چنانکه به تو ضرری نرساندیم، بلکه غیر ازنیکی به تو نکردیم، و تو را به سلامتی روانه نمودیم، و اکنون مبارک خداوند هستی.»

that thou do not ony yuel to vs, as we touchiden `not ony thing of thine, nethir diden that that hirtide thee, but with pees we leften thee encressid bi the blessyng of the Lord.

۳۰ 30 آنگاه برای ایشان ضیافتی برپا نمود، وخوردند و آشامیدند.

Therfor Isaac made a feeste to hem; and after mete and drynk thei risen eerli,

۳۱ 31 بامدادان برخاسته، بایکدیگر قسم خوردند، و اسحاق ایشان را وداع نمود. پس، از نزد وی به سلامتی رفتند.

and sworen ech to other; and Isaac lefte hem peisibli in to her place.

۳۲ 32 و درآن روز چنان افتاد که نوکران اسحاق آمده، او را ازآن چاهی که می‌کندند خبر داده، گفتند: «آب یافتیم!»

Lo! forsothe in that dai the seruauntis of Ysaac camen, tellynge to him of the pit which thei hadden diggid, and seiden, We han foundun watir.

۳۳ 33 پس آن را شبعه نامید. از این سبب آن شهر، تا امروز بئرشبع نام دارد.

Wherfor Ysaac clepide that pit abundaunce; and the name of the citee was set Bersabee til in to present dai.

۳۴ 34 و چون عیسوچهل ساله بود، یهودیه، دختر بیری حتی، وبسمه، دختر ایلون حتی را به زنی گرفت.

Esau forsothe fourti yeer eld weddide twei wyues, Judith, the douytir of Beeri Ethei, and Bethsamath, the douyter of Elon, of the same place;

۳۵ 35 وایشان باعث تلخی جان اسحاق و رفقه شدند.

whiche bothe offendiden the soule of Isaac and of Rebecca.
