| و در ماه سوم از بیرون آمدن بنی‌اسرائیل از زمین مصر، در همان روزبه صحرای سینا آمدند، | ۱ 1 |
In the third month Sivan ·Walk / Vision, 3· after the children of Israel [God prevails] had gone out of the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], on that same day they came into the wilderness of Sinai [Thorn].
| و از رفیدیم کوچ کرده، به صحرای سینا رسیدند، و در بیابان اردو زدند، واسرائیل در آنجا در مقابل کوه فرود آمدند. | ۲ 2 |
When they had departed from Rephidim, and had come to the wilderness of Sinai [Thorn], they encamped in the wilderness; and there Israel [God prevails] encamped before the mountain.
| وموسی نزد خدا بالا رفت، و خداوند از میان کوه اورا ندا درداد و گفت: «به خاندان یعقوب چنین بگو، و بنی‌اسرائیل را خبر بده: | ۳ 3 |
Moses [Drawn out] went up to God, and Adonai called to him out of the mountain, saying, “This is what you shall tell the house of Jacob [Supplanter], and tell the children of Israel [God prevails]:
| شما آنچه را که من به مصریان کردم، دیده‌اید، و چگونه شما را بربالهای عقاب برداشته، نزد خود آورده‌ام. | ۴ 4 |
‘You have seen what I did to the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery], and how I bore you on eagles’ wings, and brought you to myself.
| واکنون اگر آواز مرا فی الحقیقه بشنوید، و عهد مرانگاه دارید، همانا خزانه خاص من از جمیع قومهاخواهید بود. زیرا که تمامی جهان، از آن من است. | ۵ 5 |
Now therefore, if you will indeed sh'ma ·hear obey· my voice, and sh'ma ·hear obey· keep my covenant ·binding contract between two or more parties·, then you shall be my own segulah ·special treasure· from among all peoples; for all the earth is mine;
| و شما برای من مملکت کهنه و امت مقدس خواهید بود. این است آن سخنانی که به بنی‌اسرائیل می‌باید گفت.» | ۶ 6 |
and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel [God prevails].”
| پس موسی آمده، مشایخ قوم را خواند، و همه این سخنان را که خداوند او را فرموده بود، بر ایشان القا کرد. | ۷ 7 |
Moses [Drawn out] came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Adonai enjoined him.
| وتمامی قوم به یک زبان در جواب گفتند: «آنچه خداوند امر فرموده است، خواهیم کرد.» و موسی سخنان قوم را باز به خداوند عرض کرد. | ۸ 8 |
All the people answered together, and said, “All that Adonai has spoken we will do.” Moses [Drawn out] reported the words of the people to Adonai.
| و خداوند به موسی گفت: «اینک من در ابرمظلم نزد تو می‌آیم، تا هنگامی که به تو سخن گویم قوم بشنوند، و بر تو نیز همیشه ایمان داشته باشند.» پس موسی سخنان قوم را به خداوند بازگفت. | ۹ 9 |
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Behold, I come to you in a thick cloud, that the people may sh'ma ·hear obey· when I speak with you, and may also trust you forever.” Moses [Drawn out] told the words of the people to Adonai.
| خداوند به موسی گفت: «نزد قوم برو وایشان را امروز و فردا تقدیس نما، و ایشان رخت خود را بشویند. | ۱۰ 10 |
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Go to the people, and sanctify them today and tomorrow, and let them wash their garments,
| و در روز سوم مهیا باشید، زیرا که در روز سوم خداوند در نظر تمامی قوم برکوه سینا نازل شود. | ۱۱ 11 |
and be ready against the third day; for on the third day Adonai will come down in the sight of all the people on Mount Sinai [Thorn].
| و حدود برای قوم از هرطرف قرار ده، و بگو: باحذر باشید از اینکه به فرازکوه برآیید، یا دامنه آن را لمس نمایید، زیرا هر‌که کوه را لمس کند، هرآینه کشته شود. | ۱۲ 12 |
You shall set bounds to the people all around, saying, ‘Be careful that you don’t go up onto the mountain, or touch its border. Whoever touches the mountain shall be surely put to death.
| دست برآن گذارده نشود بلکه یا سنگسار شود یا به تیرکشته شود، خواه بهایم باشد خواه انسان، زنده نماند. اما چون کرنا نواخته شود، ایشان به کوه برآیند.» | ۱۳ 13 |
No hand shall touch him, but he shall surely be stoned or shot through; whether it is animal or man, he shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds long, they shall come up to the mountain.”
| پس موسی از کوه نزد قوم فرود آمده، قوم را تقدیس نمود و رخت خود را شستند. | ۱۴ 14 |
Moses [Drawn out] went down from the mountain to the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
| و به قوم گفت: «در روز سوم حاضر باشید، و به زنان نزدیکی منمایید.» | ۱۵ 15 |
He said to the people, “Be ready by the third day. Don’t have sexual relations with a woman.”
| و واقع شد در روز سوم به وقت طلوع صبح، که رعدها و برقها و ابر غلیظ برکوه پدید آمد، و آواز کرنای بسیار سخت، بطوری که تمامی قوم که در لشکرگاه بودند، بلرزیدند. | ۱۶ 16 |
On the third day, when it was morning, there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud on the mountain, and the sound of an exceedingly loud shofar ·ram horn·; and all the people who were in the camp trembled.
| و موسی قوم را برای ملاقات خدا ازلشکرگاه بیرون آورد، و در پایان کوه ایستادند. | ۱۷ 17 |
Moses [Drawn out] led the people out of the camp to meet God; and they stood at the lower part of the mountain.
| و تمامی کوه سینا را دود فرو گرفت، زیراخداوند در آتش بر آن نزول کرد، و دودش مثل دود کوره‌ای بالا می‌شد، و تمامی کوه سخت متزلزل گردید. | ۱۸ 18 |
All of Mount Sinai [Thorn] smoked, because Adonai descended on it in fire; and its smoke ascended like the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
| و چون آواز کرنا زیاده و زیاده سخت نواخته می‌شد، موسی سخن گفت، و خدا او را به زبان جواب داد. | ۱۹ 19 |
When the sound of the shofar ·ram horn· grew louder and louder, Moses [Drawn out] spoke, and God answered him by a voice.
| و خداوند بر کوه سینا بر قله کوه نازل شد، و خداوند موسی را به قله کوه خواند، و موسی بالا رفت. | ۲۰ 20 |
Adonai came down on Mount Sinai [Thorn], to the top of the mountain. Adonai called Moses [Drawn out] to the top of the mountain, and Moses [Drawn out] went up.
| و خداوند به موسی گفت: «پایین برو و قوم را قدغن نما، مبادا نزدخداوند برای نظر کردن، از حد تجاوز نمایند، که بسیاری از ایشان هلاک خواهند شد. | ۲۱ 21 |
Adonai said to Moses [Drawn out], “Go down, warn the people, lest they break through to Adonai to gaze, and many of them perish.
| و کهنه نیز که نزد خداوند می‌آیند، خویشتن را تقدیس نمایند، مبادا خداوند بر ایشان هجوم آورد.» | ۲۲ 22 |
Let the priests also, who come near to Adonai, sanctify themselves, lest Adonai break out on them.”
| موسی به خداوند گفت: «قوم نمی توانند به فرازکوه سینا آیند، زیرا که تو ما را قدغن کرده، گفته‌ای کوه را حدود قرار ده و آن را تقدیس نما.» | ۲۳ 23 |
Moses [Drawn out] said to Adonai, “The people can’t come up to Mount Sinai [Thorn], for you warned us, saying, ‘Set bounds around the mountain, and sanctify it.’”
| خداوند وی را گفت: «پایین برو و تو و هارون همراهت برآیید، اما کهنه و قوم از حد تجاوزننمایند، تا نزد خداوند بالا بیایند، مبادا بر ایشان هجوم آورد.» | ۲۴ 24 |
Adonai said to him, “Go down! You shall bring Aaron [Light-bringer] up with you, but don’t let the priests and the people break through to come up to Adonai, lest he break out against them.”
| پس موسی نزد قوم فرود شده، بدیشان سخن گفت. | ۲۵ 25 |
So Moses [Drawn out] went down to the people, and told them.
