دانیال 6

۱ 1 و داریوش مصلحت دانست که صد و بیست والی بر مملکت نصب نماید تا بر تمامی مملکت باشند.

It pleased Darius to set over the kingdom an hundred and twenty princes, who should be over the whole kingdom;

۲ 2 و بر آنهاسه وزیر که یکی از ایشان دانیال بود تا آن والیان به ایشان حساب دهند و هیچ ضرری به پادشاه نرسد.

And over these three presidents; of whom Daniel was first: that the princes might give accounts to them, and the king should suffer no loss.

۳ 3 پس این دانیال بر سایر وزراء و والیان تفوق جست زیرا که روح فاضل دراو بود وپادشاه اراده داشت که او را بر تمامی مملکت نصب نماید.

Then this Daniel was preferred above the presidents and princes, because an excellent spirit was in him; and the king thought to set him over the whole realm.

۴ 4 پس وزیران و والیان بهانه می‌جستند تا شکایتی در امور سلطنت بر دانیال بیاورند اما نتوانستند که هیچ علتی یا تقصیری بیابند، چونکه او امین بود و خطایی یا تقصیری دراو هرگز یافت نشد.

Then the presidents and princes sought to find occasion against Daniel concerning the kingdom; but they could find no occasion nor fault; forasmuch as he was faithful, neither was there any error or fault found in him.

۵ 5 پس آن اشخاص گفتند که «در این دانیال هیچ علتی پیدا نخواهیم کرد مگراینکه آن را درباره شریعت خدایش در او بیابیم.»

Then said these men, We shall not find any occasion against this Daniel, except we find it against him concerning the law of his God.

۶ 6 آنگاه این وزراء و والیان نزد پادشاه جمع شدند و او را چنین گفتند: «ای داریوش پادشاه تابه ابد زنده باش.

Then these presidents and princes assembled to the king, and said thus to him, King Darius, live for ever.

۷ 7 جمیع وزرای مملکت و روسا و والیان و مشیران و حاکمان با هم مشورت کرده‌اند که پادشاه حکمی استوار کند و قدغن بلیغی نماید که هر کسی‌که تا سی روز از خدایی یا انسانی سوای تو‌ای پادشاه مسالتی نماید درچاه شیران افکنده شود.

All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whoever shall ask a petition of any god or man for thirty days, except of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.

۸ 8 پس‌ای پادشاه فرمان رااستوار کن و نوشته را امضا فرما تا موافق شریعت مادیان و فارسیان که منسوخ نمی شود تبدیل نگردد.»

Now, O king, establish the decree, and sign the writing, that it may not be changed, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

۹ 9 بنابراین داریوش پادشاه نوشته وفرمان را امضا نمود.

Therefore king Darius signed the writing and the decree.

۱۰ 10 اما چون دانیال دانست که نوشته امضا شده است به خانه خود درآمد و پنجره های بالاخانه خود را به سمت اورشلیم باز نموده، هر روز سه مرتبه زانو می‌زد و دعا می‌نمود و چنانکه قبل ازآن عادت می‌داشت نزد خدای خویش دعامی کرد و تسبیح می‌خواند.

Now when Daniel knew that the writing was signed, he went into his house; and his windows being open in his chamber toward Jerusalem, he kneeled upon his knees three times a day, and prayed, and gave thanks before his God, as he did before.

۱۱ 11 پس آن اشخاص جمع شده، دانیال را یافتند که نزد خدای خودمسالت و تضرع می‌نماید.

Then these men assembled, and found Daniel praying and making supplication before his God.

۱۲ 12 آنگاه به حضور پادشاه نزدیک شده، درباره فرمان پادشاه عرض کردند که «ای پادشاه آیافرمانی امضا ننمودی که هر‌که تا سی روز نزدخدایی یا انسانی سوای تو‌ای پادشاه مسالتی نماید در چاه شیران افکنده شود؟» پادشاه درجواب گفت: «این امر موافق شریعت مادیان وفارسیان که منسوخ نمی شود صحیح است.»

Then they came near, and spoke before the king concerning the king’s decree; Hast thou not signed a decree, that every man that shall ask a petition of any god or man within thirty days, except of thee, O king, shall be cast into the den of lions? The king answered and said, The thing is true, according to the law of the Medes and Persians, which altereth not.

۱۳ 13 پس ایشان در حضور پادشاه جواب دادند وگفتند که «این دانیال که از اسیران یهودا می‌باشد به تو‌ای پادشاه و به فرمانی که امضا نموده‌ای اعتنانمی نماید، بلکه هر روز سه مرتبه مسالت خود رامی نماید.»

Then they answered and said before the king, That Daniel, who is of the children of the captivity of Judah, regardeth not thee, O king, nor the decree that thou hast signed, but maketh his petition three times a day.

۱۴ 14 آنگاه پادشاه چون این سخن راشنید بر خویشتن بسیار خشمگین گردید و دل خود را به رهانیدن دانیال مشغول ساخت و تاغروب آفتاب برای استخلاص او سعی می‌نمود.

Then the king, when he heard these words, was much displeased with himself, and set his heart on Daniel to deliver him: and he laboured till the setting of the sun to deliver him.

۱۵ 15 آنگاه آن اشخاص نزد پادشاه جمع شدند و به پادشاه عرض کردند که «ای پادشاه بدان که قانون مادیان و فارسیان این است که هیچ فرمان یاحکمی که پادشاه آن را استوار نماید تبدیل نشود.»

Then these men assembled to the king, and said to the king, Know, O king, that the law of the Medes and Persians is, That no decree nor statute which the king establisheth may be changed.

۱۶ 16 پس پادشاه امر فرمود تا دانیال را بیاورند واو را در چاه شیران بیندازند و پادشاه دانیال راخطاب کرده، گفت: «خدای تو که او را پیوسته عبادت می‌نمایی تو را رهایی خواهد داد.»

Then the king commanded, and they brought Daniel, and cast him into the den of lions. Now the king spoke and said to Daniel, Thy God whom thou servest continually, he will deliver thee.

۱۷ 17 وسنگی آورده، آن را بر دهنه چاه نهادند و پادشاه آن را به مهر خود و مهر امرای خویش مختوم ساخت تا امر درباره دانیال تبدیل نشود.

And a stone was brought, and laid upon the mouth of the den; and the king sealed it with his own signet, and with the signet of his lords; that the purpose might not be changed concerning Daniel.

۱۸ 18 آنگاه پادشاه به قصر خویش رفته، شب را به روزه بسربرد و به حضور وی اسباب عیش او را نیاوردند وخوابش از او رفت.

Then the king went to his palace, and passed the night fasting: neither were instruments of music brought before him: and his sleep went from him.

۱۹ 19 پس پادشاه صبح زود وقت طلوع فجر برخاست و به تعجیل به چاه شیران رفت.

Then the king arose very early in the morning, and went in haste to the den of lions.

۲۰ 20 و چون نزد چاه شیران رسید به آوازحزین دانیال را صدا زد و پادشاه دانیال را خطاب کرده، گفت: «ای دانیال بنده خدای حی آیاخدایت که او را پیوسته عبادت می‌نمایی به رهانیدنت از شیران قادر بوده است؟»

And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice to Daniel: and the king spoke and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?

۲۱ 21 آنگاه دانیال به پادشاه جواب داد که «ای پادشاه تا به ابد زنده باش!

Then said Daniel to the king, O king, live for ever.

۲۲ 22 خدای من فرشته خود را فرستاده، دهان شیران را بست تا به من ضرری نرسانند چونکه به حضور وی در من گناهی یافت نشد و هم درحضور تو‌ای پادشاه تقصیری نورزیده بودم.»

My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

۲۳ 23 آنگاه پادشاه بی‌نهایت شادمان شده، امر فرمود که دانیال را از چاه برآورند و دانیال را از چاه برآوردند و از آن جهت که بر خدای خود توکل نموده بود در اوهیچ ضرری یافت نشد.

Then was the king exceeding glad for him, and commanded that they should take Daniel out of the den. So Daniel was taken out of the den, and no manner of hurt was found upon him, because he believed in his God.

۲۴ 24 و پادشاه امر فرمود تاآن اشخاص را که بر دانیال شکایت آورده بودندحاضر ساختند و ایشان را با پسران و زنان ایشان در چاه شیران انداختند و هنوز به ته چاه نرسیده بودند که شیران بر ایشان حمله آورده، همه استخوانهای ایشان را خرد کردند.

And the king commanded, and they brought those men who had accused Daniel, and they cast them into the den of lions, them, their children, and their wives; and the lions had the mastery of them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they came to the bottom of the den.

۲۵ 25 بعد از آن داریوش پادشاه به جمیع قومها و امت‌ها وزبانهایی که در تمامی جهان ساکن بودند نوشت که «سلامتی شما افزون باد!

Then king Darius wrote to all people, nations, and languages, that dwell in all the earth; Peace be multiplied to you.

۲۶ 26 از حضور من فرمانی صادر شده است که در هر سلطنتی ازممالک من (مردمان ) به حضور خدای دانیال لرزان و ترسان باشند زیرا که او خدای حی و تاابدالاباد قیوم است. و ملکوت او بی‌زوال وسلطنت او غیرمتناهی است.

I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he is the living God, and steadfast for ever, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion shall be even to the end.

۲۷ 27 او است که نجات می‌دهد و می‌رهاند و آیات و عجایب را درآسمان و در زمین ظاهر می‌سازد و اوست که دانیال را از چنگ شیران رهایی داده است.»

He delivereth and rescueth, and he worketh signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, who hath delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.

۲۸ 28 پس این دانیال در سلطنت داریوش و درسلطنت کورش فارسی فیروز می‌بود.

So this Daniel prospered in the reign of Darius, and in the reign of Cyrus the Persian.

Daniel in the Lions' Den
