عاموس 3

۱ 1 این کلام را بشنوید که خداوند آن را به ضدشما‌ای بنی‌اسرائیل و به ضد تمامی خاندانی که از زمین مصر بیرون آوردم، تنطق نموده و گفته است:

Listen to the word which the Lord has spoken about you, sons of Israel, concerning the whole family that I led out of the land of Egypt, saying:

۲ 2 من شما را فقط از تمامی قبایل زمین شناختم پس عقوبت تمام گناهان شما را بر شما خواهم رسانید.

I have known only you in such a way, out of all the families of the earth. For this reason, I will visit upon you all your iniquities.

۳ 3 آیا دو نفر با هم راه می‌روند جز آنکه متفق شده باشند؟ آیا شیر در جنگل غرش می‌کند حینی که شکار نداشته باشد؟ آیا شیر ژیان آواز خود را از بیشه‌اش می‌دهد حینی که چیزی نگرفته باشد؟

Will two walk together, unless they have agreed to do so?

۴ 4 آیا مرغ به دام زمین می‌افتد، جایی که تله برای او نباشد؟ آیا دام از زمین برداشته می‌شود، حینی که چیزی نگرفته باشد؟

Will a lion roar in the forest, unless he has prey? Will the lion’s young cry out from his den, unless he has taken something?

۵ 5 آیا کرنادر شهر نواخته می‌شود و خلق نترسند؟

Will a bird fall into a snare on the ground, if there is no bird-catcher? Will a snare be taken away from the ground, before it has caught something?

۶ 6 آیا بلابر شهر وارد بیاید و خداوند آن را نفرموده باشد؟

Will the trumpet sound in a city, and the people not become frightened? Will there be disaster in a city, which the Lord has not done?

۷ 7 زیرا خداوند یهوه کاری نمی کند جز اینکه سرخویش را به بندگان خود انبیا مکشوف می‌سازد.

For the Lord God does not fulfill his word, unless he has revealed his secret to his servants the prophets.

۸ 8 شیر غرش کرده است، کیست که نترسد؟ خداوند یهوه تکلم نموده است: کیست که نبوت ننماید؟

The lion will roar, who will not fear? The Lord God has spoken, who will not prophesy?

۹ 9 بر قصرهای اشدود و بر قصرهای زمین مصرندا کنید و بگویید بر کوههای سامره جمع شوید و ملاحظه نمایید که چه هنگامه های عظیم دروسط آن و چه ظلمها در میانش واقع شده است.

Let it be heard in the buildings of Ashdod and in the buildings of the land of Egypt, and say: Gather together across the mountains of Samaria, and see the many absurdities in its midst, and those who are suffering false accusations in its inner most places.

۱۰ 10 زیرا خداوند می‌گوید: آنانی که ظلم و غارت را در قصرهای خود ذخیره می‌کنندراست کرداری را نمی دانند.

And they do not know how to make it right, says the Lord, storing up iniquity and plunder in their buildings.

۱۱ 11 بنابراین خداوندیهوه چنین می‌گوید: دشمن به هر طرف زمین خواهد بود و قوت تو را از تو به زیر خواهد آوردو قصرهایت تاراج خواهد شد.

Because of these things, thus says the Lord God: The land will be encircled and squeezed together. And your strength will be drawn away from you, and your buildings will be torn apart.

۱۲ 12 خداوند چنین می‌گوید: چنانکه شبان دوساق یا نرمه گوش را از دهان شیر رها می‌کند، همچنان بنی‌اسرائیل که در سامره در گوشه‌ای بستری و در دمشق در فراشی ساکنند رهایی خواهند یافت.

Thus says the Lord: Just as if a shepherd had rescued two legs from the mouth of a lion, or the tip of an ear, so also will the sons of Israel be rescued, who dwell in the sick bed of Samaria, and in the cot of Damascus.

۱۳ 13 خداوند یهوه خدای لشکرهامی گوید: بشنوید و به خاندان یعقوب شهادت دهید.

Listen and give testimony in the house of Jacob, says the Lord God of hosts:

۱۴ 14 زیرا در روزی که عقوبت تقصیرهای اسرائیل را به وی رسانم بر مذبح های بیت ئیل نیزعقوبت خواهم رسانید و شاخهای مذبح قطع شده، به زمین خواهد افتاد.

that in the day, when I will begin to visit the betrayals of Israel, I will visit upon him and upon the altars of Bethel. And the horns of the altars will be cut off and will fall to the ground.

۱۵ 15 و خداوند می‌گوید که خانه زمستانی را باخانه تابستانی خراب خواهم کرد و خانه های عاج تلف خواهد شد و خانه های عظیم منهدم خواهدگردید.»

And I will strike the winter house with the summer house; and the houses of ivory will perish, and many buildings will be torn apart, says the Lord.
