دوم سموئیل 9

۱ 1 و داود گفت: «آیا از خاندان شاول کسی تابه حال باقی است تا به‌خاطر یوناتان او رااحسان نمایم؟»

And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan's sake?

۲ 2 و از خاندان شاول خادمی مسمی به صیبا بود، پس او را نزد داود خواندند وپادشاه وی را گفت: «آیا تو صیبا هستی؟» گفت: «بنده تو هستم.»

And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba; and they called him to David. And the king said to him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant!

۳ 3 پادشاه گفت: «آیا تا به حال ازخاندان شاول کسی هست تا او را احسان خدایی نمایم؟» صیبا در جواب پادشاه گفت: «یوناتان راتا به حال پسری لنگ باقی است.»

And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, Jonathan has yet a son, who is lame on [his] feet.

۴ 4 پادشاه از وی پرسید که «او کجاست؟» صیبا به پادشاه گفت: «اینک او در خانه ماکیر بن عمیئیل در لودباراست.»

And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.

۵ 5 و داود پادشاه فرستاده، او را از خانه ماکیر بن عمیئیل از لودبار گرفت.

And king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.

۶ 6 پس مفیبوشت بن یوناتان بن شاول نزد داودآمده، به روی در‌افتاده، تعظیم نمود. و داود گفت: «ای مفیبوشت!» گفت: «اینک بنده تو.»

And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he said, Behold thy servant!

۷ 7 داود وی را گفت: «مترس! زیرا به‌خاطر پدرت یوناتان برتو البته احسان خواهم نمود و تمامی زمین پدرت شاول را به تو رد خواهم کرد، و تو دائم بر سفره من نان خواهی خورد.»

And David said to him, Fear not; for I will certainly shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father's sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.

۸ 8 پس او تعظیم کرده، گفت که «بنده تو چیست که بر سگ مرده‌ای مثل من التفات نمایی؟»

And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?

۹ 9 و پادشاه، صیبا، بنده شاول را خوانده، گفت: «آنچه را که مال شاول و تمام خاندانش بود به پسرآقای تو دادم.

Then the king called Ziba, Saul's servant, and said to him, I have given to thy master's son all that belonged to Saul and to all his house.

۱۰ 10 و تو و پسرانت و بندگانت به جهت او زمین را زرع نموده، محصول آن رابیاورید تا برای پسر آقایت به جهت خوردنش نان باشد، اما مفیبوشت، پسر آقایت همیشه بر سفره من نان خواهد خورد.» و صیبا پانزده پسر و بیست خادم داشت.

And thou, and thy sons, and thy servants, shall till the land for him, and thou shalt bring in [the fruits], that thy master's son may have food to eat. And Mephibosheth thy master's son shall eat bread at my table continually. Now Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.

۱۱ 11 و صیبا به پادشاه گفت: «موافق هر‌آنچه آقایم پادشاه به بنده‌اش فرموده است بهمین طور بنده ات عمل خواهد نمود.» و پادشاه گفت که مفیبوشت بر سفره من مثل یکی از پسران پادشاه خواهد خورد.

And Ziba said to the king, According to all that my lord the king has commanded his servant, so will thy servant do. And Mephibosheth [said David] shall eat at my table, as one of the king's sons.

۱۲ 12 و مفیبوشت را پسری کوچک بود که میکا نام داشت، و تمامی ساکنان خانه صیبا بنده مفیبوشت بودند.

And Mephibosheth had a young son, whose name was Mica. And all who dwelt in the house of Ziba were servants to Mephibosheth.

۱۳ 13 پس مفیبوشت در اورشلیم ساکن شد زیرا که همیشه بر سفره پادشاه می‌خورد و از هر دو پا لنگ بود.

So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he did eat continually at the king's table. And he was lame on both his feet.
