دوم سموئیل 5

۱ 1 و جمیع اسباط اسرائیل نزد داود به حبرون آمدند و متکلم شده، گفتند: «اینک مااستخوان و گوشت تو هستیم.

Then came all the tribes of Israel to David unto Hebron, and spake, saying, Behold, we are thy bone and thy flesh.

۲ 2 و قبل از این نیزچون شاول بر ما سلطنت می‌نمود تو بودی که اسرائیل را بیرون می‌بردی و اندرون می‌آوردی، و خداوند تو را گفت که تو قوم من، اسرائیل رارعایت خواهی کرد و بر اسرائیل پیشوا خواهی بود.»

In times past, when Saul was king over us, it was thou that leddest out and broughtest in Israel: and Jehovah said to thee, Thou shalt be shepherd of my people Israel, and thou shalt be prince over Israel.

۳ 3 و جمیع مشایخ اسرائیل نزد پادشاه به حبرون آمدند، و داود پادشاه در حبرون به حضورخداوند با ایشان عهد بست و داود را بر اسرائیل به پادشاهی مسح نمودند.

So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Jehovah: and they anointed David king over Israel.

۴ 4 و داود هنگامی که پادشاه شد سی ساله بود، و چهل سال سلطنت نمود.

David was thirty years old when he began to reign, and he reigned forty years.

۵ 5 هفت سال و شش ماه در حبرون بر یهوداسلطنت نمود، و سی و سه سال در اورشلیم برتمامی اسرائیل و یهودا سلطنت نمود.

In Hebron he reigned over Judah seven years and six months; and in Jerusalem he reigned thirty and three years over all Israel and Judah.

۶ 6 و پادشاه با مردانش به اورشلیم به مقابله یبوسیان که ساکنان زمین بودند، رفت، و ایشان به داود متکلم شده، گفتند: «به اینجا داخل نخواهی شد جز اینکه کوران و لنگان را بیرون کنی.» زیراگمان بردند که داود به اینجا داخل نخواهد شد.

And the king and his men went to Jerusalem against the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, who spake unto David, saying, Except thou take away the blind and the lame, thou shalt not come in hither; thinking, David cannot come in hither.

۷ 7 و داود قلعه صهیون را گرفت که همان شهر داوداست.

Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion; the same is the city of David.

۸ 8 و در آن روز داود گفت: «هر‌که یبوسیان رابزند و به قنات رسیده، لنگان و کوران را که مبغوض جان داود هستند (بزند).» بنابرین می‌گویند کور و لنگ، به خانه داخل نخواهند شد.

And David said on that day, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites, let him get up to the watercourse, and [smite] the lame and the blind, that are hated of David’s soul. Wherefore they say, There are the blind and the lame; he cannot come into the house.

۹ 9 و داود در قلعه ساکن شد و آن را شهر داودنامید، و داود به اطراف ملو و اندرونش عمارت ساخت.

And David dwelt in the stronghold, and called it the city of David. And David built round about from Millo and inward.

۱۰ 10 و داود ترقی کرده، بزرگ می‌شد و یهوه، خدای صبایوت، با وی می‌بود.

And David waxed greater and greater; for Jehovah, the God of hosts, was with him.

۱۱ 11 و حیرام، پادشاه صور، قاصدان و درخت سرو آزاد و نجاران و سنگ تراشان نزد داودفرستاده، برای داود خانه‌ای بنا نمودند.

And Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar-trees, and carpenters, and masons; and they built David a house.

۱۲ 12 پس داود فهمید که خداوند او را بر اسرائیل به پادشاهی استوار نموده، و سلطنت او را به‌خاطرقوم خویش اسرائیل برافراشته است.

And David perceived that Jehovah had established him king over Israel, and that he had exalted his kingdom for his people Israel’s sake.

۱۳ 13 و بعد از آمدن داود از حبرون کنیزان و زنان دیگر از اورشلیم گرفت، و باز برای داود پسران ودختران زاییده شدند.

And David took him more concubines and wives out of Jerusalem, after he was come from Hebron; and there were yet sons and daughters born to David.

۱۴ 14 و نامهای آنانی که برای او در اورشلیم زاییده شدند، این است: شموع وشوباب و ناتان و سلیمان،

And these are the names of those that were born unto him in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon,

۱۵ 15 و یبجار و الیشوع ونافج و یافیع،

and Ibhar, and Elishua, and Nepheg, and Japhia,

۱۶ 16 و الیشمع و الیداع و الیفلط.

and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet.

۱۷ 17 و چون فلسطینیان شنیدند که داود را به پادشاهی اسرائیل مسح نموده‌اند، جمیع فلسطینیان برآمدند تا داود را بطلبند، و چون داوداین را شنید به قلعه فرود آمد.

And when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the stronghold.

۱۸ 18 و فلسطینیان آمده، در وادی رفائیان منتشر شدند.

Now the Philistines had come and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

۱۹ 19 و داود ازخداوند سوال نموده، گفت: «آیا به مقابله فلسطینیان برآیم و ایشان را به‌دست من تسلیم خواهی نمود؟» خداوند به داود گفت: «برو زیراکه فلسطینیان را البته به‌دست تو خواهم داد.»

And David inquired of Jehovah, saying, Shall I go up against the Philistines? wilt thou deliver them into my hand? And Jehovah said unto David, Go up; for I will certainly deliver the Philistines into thy hand.

۲۰ 20 وداود به بعل فراصیم آمد و داود ایشان را در آنجاشکست داده، گفت: «خداوند دشمنانم را ازحضور من رخنه کرد مثل رخنه آبها.» بنابرین آن مکان را بعل فراصیم نام نهادند.

And David came to Baal-perazim, and David smote them there; and he said, Jehovah hath broken mine enemies before me, like the breach of waters. Therefore he called the name of that place Baal-perazim.

۲۱ 21 و بتهای خودرا در آنجا ترک کردند و داود و کسانش آنها رابرداشتند.

And they left their images there; and David and his men took them away.

۲۲ 22 و فلسطینیان بار دیگر برآمده، در وادی رفائیان منتشر شدند.

And the Philistines came up yet again, and spread themselves in the valley of Rephaim.

۲۳ 23 و چون داود از خداوندسوال نمود، گفت: «برمیا، بلکه از عقب ایشان دورزده، پیش درختان توت بر ایشان حمله آور.

And when David inquired of Jehovah, he said, Thou shalt not go up: make a circuit behind them, and come upon them over against the mulberry-trees.

۲۴ 24 وچون آواز صدای قدمها در سر درختان توت بشنوی، آنگاه تعجیل کن زیرا که در آن وقت خداوند پیش روی تو بیرون خواهد آمد تا لشکرفلسطینیان را شکست دهد.»

And it shall be, when thou hearest the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry-trees, that then thou shalt bestir thyself; for then is Jehovah gone out before thee to smite the host of the Philistines.

۲۵ 25 پس داود چنانکه خداوند او را امر فرموده بود، کرد، و فلسطینیان رااز جبعه تا جازر شکست داد.

And David did so, as Jehovah commanded him, and smote the Philistines from Geba until thou come to Gezer.
