اول سموئیل 14

۱ 1 و روزی واقع شد که یوناتان پسر شاول به جوان سلاح دار خود گفت: «بیا تا به قراول فلسطینیان که به آن طرفند بگذریم.» اماپدر خود را خبر نداد.

Now it fell upon a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said unto the young man that bore his armour: 'Come and let us go over to the Philistines' garrison, that is on yonder side. But he told not his father.

۲ 2 و شاول در کناره جبعه زیر درخت اناری که در مغرون است، ساکن بود وقومی که همراهش بودند تخمین ششصد نفربودند.

And Saul tarried in the uttermost part of Gibeah under the pomegranate-tree which is in Migron; and the people that were with him were about six hundred men,

۳ 3 و اخیا ابن اخیطوب برادر ایخابودبن فینحاس بن عیلی، کاهن خداوند، در شیلوه باایفود ملبس شده بود، و قوم از رفتن یوناتان خبرنداشتند.

and Ahijah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod's brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the priest of the LORD in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. And the people knew not that Jonathan was gone.

۴ 4 و در میان معبرهایی که یوناتان می خواست از آنها نزد قراول فلسطینیان بگذرد، یک صخره تیز به این طرف و یک صخره تیز به آن طرف بود، که اسم یکی بوصیص و اسم دیگری سنه بود.

And between the passes, by which Jonathan sought to go over unto the Philistines' garrison, there was a rocky crag on the one side, and a rocky crag on the other side; and the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.

۵ 5 و یکی از این صخره‌ها به طرف شمال در برابر مخماس ایستاده بود، و دیگری به طرف جنوب در برابر جبعه.

The one crag rose up on the north in front of Michmas, and the other on the south in front of Geba.

۶ 6 و یوناتان به جوان سلاحدار خود گفت: «بیانزد قراول این نامختونان بگذریم شاید خداوندبرای ما عمل کند زیرا که خداوند را از رهانیدن باکثیر یا با قلیل مانعی نیست.»

And Jonathan said to the young man that bore his armour: 'Come and let us go over unto the garrison of these uncircumcised; it may be that the LORD will work for us; for there is no restraint to the LORD to save by many or by few.'

۷ 7 و سلاحدارش به وی گفت: «هر‌چه در دلت باشد، عمل نما. پیش برو؛ اینک من موافق رای تو با تو هستم.»

And his armour-bearer said unto him: 'Do all that is in thy heart; turn thee, behold I am with thee according to thy heart.'

۸ 8 ویوناتان گفت: «اینک ما به طرف این مردمان گذرنماییم و خود را به آنها ظاهر سازیم،

Then said Jonathan: 'Behold, we will pass over unto the men, and we will disclose ourselves unto them.

۹ 9 اگر به ماچنین گویند: بایستید تا نزد شما برسیم، آنگاه درجای خود خواهیم ایستاد و نزد ایشان نخواهیم رفت.

If they say thus unto us: Tarry until we come to you; then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up unto them.

۱۰ 10 اما اگر چنین گویند که نزد ما برآیید، آنگاه خواهیم رفت زیرا خداوند ایشان را به‌دست ما تسلیم نموده است و به جهت ما، این علامت خواهد بود.»

But if they say thus: Come up unto us; then we will go up; for the LORD hath delivered them into our hand; and this shall be the sign unto us.'

۱۱ 11 پس هر دوی ایشان خویشتن را به قراول فلسطینیان ظاهر ساختند و فلسطینیان گفتند: «اینک عبرانیان از حفره هایی که خود را در آنهاپنهان ساخته‌اند، بیرون می‌آیند.»

And both of them disclosed themselves unto the garrison of the Philistines; and the Philistines said: 'Behold Hebrews coming forth out of the holes where they hid themselves.'

۱۲ 12 و قراولان، یوناتان و سلاحدارش را خطاب کرده، گفتند: «نزد ما برآیید تا چیزی به شما نشان دهیم.» ویوناتان به سلاحدار خود گفت که «در عقب من بیازیرا خداوند ایشان را به‌دست اسرائیل تسلیم نموده است.»

And the men of the garrison spoke to Jonathan and his armour-bearer, and said: 'Come up to us, and we will show you a thing.' And Jonathan said unto his armour-bearer: 'Come up after me; for the LORD hath delivered them into the hand of Israel.'

۱۳ 13 و یوناتان به‌دست و پای خود نزد ایشان بالارفت و سلاحدارش در عقب وی، و ایشان پیش روی یوناتان افتادند و سلاحدارش در عقب او می کشت.

And Jonathan climbed up upon his hands and upon his feet, and his armour-bearer after him; and they fell before Jonathan; and his armour-bearer slew them after him.

۱۴ 14 و این کشتار اول که یوناتان وسلاحدارش کردند به قدر بیست نفر بود در قریب نصف شیار یک جفت گاو زمین.

And that first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armour-bearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were half a furrow's length in an acre of land.

۱۵ 15 و در اردو وصحرا و تمامی قوم تزلزل در‌افتاد و قراولان وتاراج کنندگان نیز لرزان شدند و زمین متزلزل شد، پس تزلزل عظیمی واقع گردید.

And there was a trembling in the camp in the field, and among all the people; the garrison, and the spoilers, they also trembled; and the earth quaked; so it grew into a terror from God.

۱۶ 16 و دیده بانان شاول در جبعه بنیامین نگاه کردند و اینک آن انبوه گداخته شده، به هر طرف پراکنده می‌شدند.

And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeath-benjamin looked; and, behold, the multitude melted away, and they went hither and thither.

۱۷ 17 و شاول به قومی که همراهش بودند، گفت: «الان تفحص کنید و ببینیداز ما که بیرون رفته است؟» پس تفحص کردند که اینک یوناتان و سلاحدارش حاضر نبودند.

Then said Saul unto the people that were with him: 'Number now, and see who is gone from us.' And when they had numbered, behold, Jonathan and his armour-bearer were not there.

۱۸ 18 وشاول به اخیا گفت: «تابوت خدا را نزدیک بیاور.» زیرا تابوت خدا در آن وقت همراه بنی‌اسرائیل بود.

And Saul said unto Ahijah: 'Bring hither the ark of God.' For the ark of God was there at that time with the children of Israel.

۱۹ 19 و واقع شد چون شاول با کاهن سخن می‌گفت که اغتشاش در اردوی فلسطینیان زیاده وزیاده می‌شد، و شاول به کاهن گفت: «دست خودرا نگاهدار.»

And it came to pass, while Saul talked unto the priest, that the tumult that was in the camp of the Philistines went on and increased; and Saul said unto the priest: 'Withdraw thy hand.'

۲۰ 20 و شاول و تمامی قومی که با وی بودندجمع شده، به جنگ آمدند، و اینک شمشیر هرکس به ضد رفیقش بود و قتال بسیار عظیمی بود.

And Saul and all the people that were with him were gathered together, and came to the battle; and, behold, every man's sword was against his fellow, and there was a very great discomfiture.

۲۱ 21 و عبرانیانی که قبل از آن با فلسطینیان بودند وهمراه ایشان از اطراف به اردو آمده بودند، ایشان نیز نزد اسرائیلیانی که با شاول و یوناتان بودند، برگشتند.

Now the Hebrews that were with the Philistines as beforetime, and that went up with them into the camp round about; even they also turned to be with the Israelites that were with Saul and Jonathan.

۲۲ 22 و تمامی مردان اسرائیل نیز که خودرا در کوهستان افرایم پنهان کرده بودند چون شنیدند که فلسطینیان منهزم شده‌اند، ایشان را درجنگ تعاقب نمودند.

Likewise all the men of Israel that had hid themselves in the hill-country of Ephraim, when they heard that the Philistines fled, even they also followed hard after them in the battle.

۲۳ 23 پس خداوند در آن روزاسرائیل را نجات داد و جنگ تا بیت آون رسید.

So the LORD saved Israel that day; and the battle passed on as far as Beth-aven.

۲۴ 24 و مردان اسرائیل آن روز در تنگی بودندزیرا که شاول قوم را قسم داده، گفته بود: «تا من ازدشمنان خود انتقام نکشیده باشم ملعون باد کسی که تا شام طعام بخورد.» و تمامی قوم طعام نچشیدند.

And the men of Israel were distressed that day; but Saul adjured the people, saying: 'Cursed be the man that eateth any food until it be evening, and I be avenged on mine enemies.' So none of the people tasted food.

۲۵ 25 و تمامی قوم به جنگلی رسیدند که در آنجا عسل بر روی زمین بود.

And all the people came into the forest; and there was honey upon the ground.

۲۶ 26 و چون قوم به جنگل داخل شدند، اینک عسل می‌چکید امااحدی دست خود را به دهانش نبرد زیرا قوم ازقسم ترسیدند.

And when the people were come unto the forest, behold a flow of honey; but no man put his hand to his mouth; for the people feared the oath.

۲۷ 27 لیکن یوناتان هنگامی که پدرش به قوم قسم می‌داد نشنیده بود، پس نوک عصایی را که در دست داشت دراز کرده، آن را به‌شان عسل فرو برد، و دست خود را به دهانش برده، چشمان او روشن گردید.

But Jonathan heard not when his father charged the people with the oath; and he put forth the end of the rod that was in his hand, and dipped it in the honeycomb, and put his hand to his mouth; and his eyes brightened.

۲۸ 28 و شخصی از قوم به او توجه نموده، گفت: «پدرت قوم را قسم سخت داده، گفت: ملعون بادکسی‌که امروز طعام خورد.» و قوم بی‌تاب شده بودند.

Then answered one of the people, and said: 'Thy father straitly charged the people with an oath, saying: Cursed be the man that eateth food this day; and the people are faint.'

۲۹ 29 و یوناتان گفت: «پدرم زمین را مضطرب ساخته است، الان ببینید که چشمانم چه قدرروشن شده است که اندکی از این عسل چشیده‌ام.

Then said Jonathan: 'My father hath troubled the land; see, I pray you, how mine eyes are brightened, because I tasted a little of this honey.

۳۰ 30 و چه قدر زیاده اگر امروز قوم از غارت دشمنان خود که یافته‌اند بی‌ممانعت می‌خوردند، آیا قتال فلسطینیان بسیار زیاده نمی شد؟»

How much more, if haply the people had eaten freely to-day of the spoil of their enemies which they found? had there not been then a much greater slaughter among the Philistines?'

۳۱ 31 و در آن روز فلسطینیان را از مخماس تاایلون منهزم ساختند و قوم بسیار بی‌تاب شدند.

And they smote of the Philistines that day from Michmas to Aijalon; and the people were very faint.

۳۲ 32 و قوم بر غنیمت حمله کرده، از گوسفندان وگاوان و گوساله‌ها گرفته، بر زمین کشتند و قوم آنهارا با خون خوردند.

And the people flew upon the spoil, and took sheep, and oxen, and calves, and slew them on the ground; and the people did eat them with the blood.

۳۳ 33 و شاول را خبر داده، گفتند: «اینک قوم به خداوند گناه ورزیده، با خون می‌خورند.» گفت: «شما خیانت ورزیده‌اید امروزسنگی بزرگ نزد من بغلطانید.»

Then they told Saul, saying: 'Behold, the people sin against the LORD, in that they eat with the blood.' And he said: 'Ye have dealt treacherously; roll a great stone unto me this day.'

۳۴ 34 و شاول گفت: «خود را در میان قوم منتشر ساخته، به ایشان بگویید: هر کس گاو خود و هر کس گوسفند خود را نزد من بیاورد و در اینجا ذبح نموده، بخورید وبه خدا گناه نورزیده، با خون مخورید.» و تمامی قوم در آن شب هر کس گاوش را با خود آورده، در آنجا ذبح کردند.

And Saul said: 'Disperse yourselves among the people, and say unto them: Bring me hither every man his ox, and every man his sheep, and slay them here, and eat; and sin not against the LORD in eating with the blood.' And all the people brought every man his ox with him that night, and slew them there.

۳۵ 35 و شاول مذبحی برای خداوند بنا کرد و این مذبح اول بود که برای خداوند بنا نمود.

And Saul built an altar unto the LORD; the same was the first altar that he built unto the LORD.

۳۶ 36 و شاول گفت: «امشب در عقب فلسطینیان برویم و آنها را تا روشنایی صبح غارت کرده، ازایشان احدی را باقی نگذاریم.» ایشان گفتند: «هرچه در نظرت پسند آید بکن.» و کاهن گفت: «دراینجا به خدا تقرب بجوییم.»

And Saul said: 'Let us go down after the Philistines by night, and spoil them until the morning light, and let us not leave a man of them.' And they said: 'Do whatsoever seemeth good unto thee.' Then said the priest: 'Let us draw near hither unto God.'

۳۷ 37 و شاول از خداسوال نمود که آیا از عقب فلسطینیان برویم و آیاایشان را به‌دست اسرائیل خواهی داد، اما در آن روز او را جواب نداد.

And Saul asked counsel of God: 'Shall I go down after the Philistines? wilt Thou deliver them into the hand of Israel?' But He answered him not that day.

۳۸ 38 آنگاه شاول گفت: «ای تمامی روسای قوم به اینجا نزدیک شوید و بدانیدو ببینید که امروز این گناه در چه چیز است.

And Saul said: 'Draw nigh hither, all ye chiefs of the people; and know and see wherein this sin hath been this day.

۳۹ 39 زیرا قسم به حیات خداوند رهاننده اسرائیل که اگر در پسرم یوناتان هم باشد، البته خواهدمرد.» لیکن از تمامی قوم احدی به او جواب نداد.

For, as the LORD liveth, who saveth Israel, though it be in Jonathan my son, he shall surely die.' But there was not a man among all the people that answered him.

۴۰ 40 پس به تمامی اسرائیل گفت: «شما به یک طرف باشید و من با پسر خود یوناتان به یک طرف باشیم.» و قوم به شاول گفتند: «هر‌چه در نظرت پسند آید، بکن.»

Then said he unto all Israel: 'Be ye on one side, and I and Jonathan my son will be on the other side.' And the people said unto Saul: 'Do what seemeth good unto thee.'

۴۱ 41 و شاول به یهوه، خدای اسرائیل گفت: «قرعه‌ای راست بده.» پس یوناتان و شاول گرفته شدند و قوم رها گشتند.

Therefore Saul said unto the LORD, the God of Israel: 'Declare the right.' And Jonathan and Saul were taken by lot; but the people escaped.

۴۲ 42 و شاول گفت: «در میان من و پسرم یوناتان قرعه بیندازید.» و یوناتان گرفته شد.

And Saul said: 'Cast lots between me and Jonathan my son.' And Jonathan was taken.

۴۳ 43 و شاول به یوناتان گفت: «مرا خبر ده که چه کرده‌ای؟» و یوناتان به او خبر داده، گفت: «به نوک عصایی که در دست دارم اندکی عسل چشیدم واینک باید بمیرم؟»

Then Saul said to Jonathan: 'Tell me what thou hast done.' And Jonathan told him, and said: 'I did certainly taste a little honey with the end of the rod that was in my hand; here am I: I will die.'

۴۴ 44 و شاول گفت: «خدا چنین بلکه زیاده از این بکند‌ای یوناتان! زیرا البته خواهی مرد.»

And Saul said: 'God do so and more also; thou shalt surely die, Jonathan.'

۴۵ 45 اما قوم به شاول گفتند: «آیایوناتان که نجات عظیم را در اسرائیل کرده است، باید بمیرد؟ حاشا! قسم به حیات خداوند که مویی از سرش به زمین نخواهد افتاد زیرا که امروز با خدا عمل نموده است.» پس قوم یوناتان را خلاص نمودند که نمرد.

And the people said unto Saul: 'Shall Jonathan die, who hath wrought this great salvation in Israel? Far from it; as the LORD liveth, there shall not one hair of his head fall to the ground; for he hath wrought with God this day.' So the people rescued Jonathan, that he died not.

۴۶ 46 و شاول از تعاقب فلسطینیان باز آمد و فلسطینیان به‌جای خودرفتند.

Then Saul went up from following the Philistines; and the Philistines went to their own place.

۴۷ 47 و شاول عنان سلطنت اسرائیل را به‌دست گرفت و با جمیع دشمنان اطراف خود، یعنی باموآب و بنی عمون و ادوم و ملوک صوبه وفلسطینیان جنگ کرد و به هر طرف که توجه می‌نمود، غالب می‌شد.

So Saul took the kingdom over Israel, and fought against all his enemies on every side, against Moab, and against the children of Ammon, and against Edom, and against the kings of Zobah, and against the Philistines; and whithersoever he turned himself, he put them to the worse.

۴۸ 48 و به دلیری عمل می‌نمود و عمالیقیان را شکست داده، اسرائیل رااز دست تاراج کنندگان ایشان رهانید.

And he did valiantly, and smote the Amalekites, and delivered Israel out of the hands of them that spoiled them.

۴۹ 49 و پسران شاول، یوناتان و یشوی و ملکیشوبودند. و اسمهای دخترانش این است: اسم نخست زاده‌اش میرب و اسم کوچک میکال.

Now the sons of Saul were Jonathan, and Ishvi, and Malchi-shua; and the names of his two daughters were these: the name of the first-born Merab, and the name of the younger Michal;

۵۰ 50 واسم زن شاول اخینوعام، دختر اخیمعاص، بود واسم سردار لشکرش ابنیر بن نیر، عموی شاول بود.

and the name of Saul's wife was Ahinoam the daughter of Ahimaaz; and the name of the captain of his host was Abner, the son of Ner, Saul's uncle.

۵۱ 51 و قیس پدر شاول بود و نیر پدر ابنیر و پسرابیئیل بود.

And Kish was the father of Saul, and Ner the father of Abner was the son of Abiel.

۵۲ 52 و در تمامی روزهای شاول با فلسطینیان جنگ سخت بود و هر صاحب قوت و صاحب شجاعت که شاول می‌دید، او را نزد خودمی آورد.

And there was sore war against the Philistines all the days of Saul; and when Saul saw any mighty man, or any valiant man, he took him unto him.
