اول پادشاهان 2

۱ 1 و چون ایام وفات داود نزدیک شد، پسرخود سلیمان را وصیت فرموده، گفت:

Now the days of David drew nigh that he should die; and he charged Solomon his son, saying:

۲ 2 «من به راه تمامی اهل زمین می‌روم. پس تو قوی و دلیر باش.

'I go the way of all the earth; be thou strong therefore, and show thyself a man;

۳ 3 وصایای یهوه، خدای خود را نگاه داشته، به طریق های وی سلوک نما، و فرایض واوامر و احکام و شهادات وی را به نوعی که درتورات موسی مکتوب است، محافظت نما تا درهر کاری که کنی و به هر جایی که توجه نمایی، برخوردار باشی.

and keep the charge of the LORD thy God, to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, and His commandments, and His ordinances, and His testimonies, according to that which is written in the law of Moses, that thou mayest prosper in all that thou doest, and whithersoever thou turnest thyself;

۴ 4 و تا آنکه خداوند، کلامی را که درباره من فرموده و گفته است، برقرار دارد که اگرپسران تو راه خویش را حفظ نموده، به تمامی دل و به تمامی جان خود در حضور من به راستی سلوک نمایند، یقین که از تو کسی‌که بر کرسی اسرائیل بنشیند، مفقود نخواهد شد.

that the LORD may establish His word which He spoke concerning me, saying: If thy children take heed to their way, to walk before Me in truth with all their heart and with all their soul, there shall not fail thee, said He, a man on the throne of Israel.

۵ 5 و دیگر تو آنچه را که یوآب بن صرویه به من کرد می‌دانی، یعنی آنچه را با دو سردار لشکراسرائیل ابنیر بن نیر و عماسا ابن یتر کرد و ایشان را کشت و خون جنگ را در حین صلح ریخته، خون جنگ را بر کمربندی که به کمر خود داشت و بر نعلینی که به پایهایش بود، پاشید.

Moreover thou knowest also what Joab the son of Zeruiah did unto me, even what he did to the two captains of the hosts of Israel, unto Abner the son of Ner and unto Amasa the son of Jether, whom he slew, and shed the blood of war in peace, and put the blood of war upon his girdle that was about his loins, and in his shoes that were on his feet.

۶ 6 پس موافق حکمت خود عمل نما و مباد که موی سفید او به سلامتی به قبر فرو رود. (Sheol h7585)

Do therefore according to thy wisdom, and let not his hoar head go down to the grave in peace. (Sheol h7585)

۷ 7 و اما با پسران برزلای جلعادی احسان نما و ایشان از‌جمله خورندگان بر سفره تو باشند، زیرا که ایشان هنگامی که از برادر تو ابشالوم فرار می‌کردم، نزدمن چنین آمدند.

But show kindness unto the sons of Barzillai the Gileadite, and let them be of those that eat at thy table; for so they drew nigh unto me when I fled from Absalom thy brother.

۸ 8 و اینک شمعی ابن جیرای بنیامینی از بحوریم نزد توست و او مرا در روزی که به محنایم رسیدم به لعنت سخت لعن کرد، لیکن چون به استقبال من به اردن آمد برای او به خداوند قسم خورده، گفتم که تو را با شمشیرنخواهم کشت.

And, behold, there is with thee Shimei the son of Gera, the Benjamite, of Bahurim, who cursed me with a grievous curse in the day when I went to Mahanaim; but he came down to meet me at the Jordan, and I swore to him by the LORD, saying: I will not put thee to death with the sword.

۹ 9 پس الان او را بی‌گناه مشمارزیرا که مرد حکیم هستی و آنچه را که با او بایدکرد، می‌دانی. پس مویهای سفید او را به قبر باخون فرود آور.» (Sheol h7585)

Now therefore hold him not guiltless, for thou art a wise man; and thou wilt know what thou oughtest to do unto him, and thou shalt bring his hoar head down to the grave with blood.' (Sheol h7585)

۱۰ 10 پس داود با پدران خود خوابید و در شهرداود دفن شد.

And David slept with his fathers, and was buried in the city of David.

۱۱ 11 و ایامی که داود بر اسرائیل سلطنت می‌نمود، چهل سال بود. هفت سال درحبرون سلطنت کرد و در اورشلیم سی و سه سال سلطنت نمود.

And the days that David reigned over Israel were forty years: seven years reigned he in Hebron, and thirty and three years reigned he in Jerusalem.

۱۲ 12 و سلیمان بر کرسی پدر خودداود نشست و سلطنت او بسیار استوار گردید.

And Solomon sat upon the throne of David his father; and his kingdom was established firmly.

۱۳ 13 و ادنیا پسر حجیت نزد بتشبع، مادر سلیمان آمد و او گفت: «آیا به سلامتی آمدی؟» او جواب داد: «به سلامتی.»

Then Adonijah the son of Haggith came to Bath-sheba the mother of Solomon. And she said: 'Comest thou peaceably?' And he said: 'Peaceably.'

۱۴ 14 پس گفت: «با تو حرفی دارم.» او گفت: «بگو.»

He said moreover: 'I have somewhat to say unto thee.' And she said: 'Say on.'

۱۵ 15 گفت: «تو می‌دانی که سلطنت با من شده بود و تمامی اسرائیل روی خود را به من مایل کرده بودند تا سلطنت نمایم، اما سلطنت منتقل شده، از آن برادرم گردید زیراکه از جانب خداوند از آن او بود.

And he said: 'Thou knowest that the kingdom was mine, and that all Israel set their faces on me, that I should reign; howbeit the kingdom is turned about, and is become my brother's; for it was his from the LORD.

۱۶ 16 و الان خواهشی از تو دارم؛ مسالت مرا رد مکن.» او وی را گفت: «بگو.»

And now I ask one petition of thee, deny me not.' And she said unto him: 'Say on.'

۱۷ 17 گفت: «تمنا این که به سلیمان پادشاه بگویی زیرا خواهش تو را رد نخواهد کردتا ابیشک شونمیه را به من به زنی بدهد.»

And he said: 'Speak, I pray thee, unto Solomon the king — for he will not say thee nay — that he give me Abishag the Shunammite to wife.'

۱۸ 18 بتشبع گفت: «خوب، من نزد پادشاه برای تو خواهم گفت.»

And Bath-sheba said: 'Well; I will speak for thee unto the king.'

۱۹ 19 پس بتشبع نزد سلیمان پادشاه داخل شد تابا او درباره ادنیا سخن گوید. و پادشاه به استقبالش برخاسته، او را تعظیم نمود و بر کرسی خودنشست و فرمود تا به جهت مادر پادشاه کرسی بیاورند و او به‌دست راستش بنشست.

Bath-sheba therefore went unto king Solomon, to speak unto him for Adonijah. And the king rose up to meet her, and bowed down unto her, and sat down on his throne, and caused a throne to be set for the king's mother; and she sat on his right hand.

۲۰ 20 و اوعرض کرد: «یک مطلب جزئی دارم که از تو سوال نمایم. مسالت مرا رد منما.» پادشاه گفت: «ای مادرم بگو زیرا که مسالت تو را رد نخواهم کرد.»

Then she said: 'I ask one small petition of thee; deny me not.' And the king said unto her: 'Ask on, my mother; for I will not deny thee.'

۲۱ 21 و او گفت: «ابیشک شونمیه به برادرت ادنیا به زنی داده شود.»

And she said: 'Let Abishag the Shunammite be given to Adonijah thy brother to wife.'

۲۲ 22 سلیمان پادشاه، مادر خود راجواب داده، گفت: «چرا ابیشک شونمیه را به جهت ادنیا طلبیدی؟ سلطنت را نیز برای وی طلب کن چونکه او برادر بزرگ من است، هم به جهت او و هم به جهت ابیاتار کاهن و هم به جهت یوآب بن صرویه.»

And king Solomon answered and said unto his mother: 'And why dost thou ask Abishag the Shunammite for Adonijah? ask for him the kingdom also; for he is mine elder brother; even for him, and for Abiathar the priest, and for Joab the son of Zeruiah.'

۲۳ 23 و سلیمان پادشاه به خداوند قسم خورده، گفت: «خدا به من مثل این بلکه زیاده از این عمل نماید اگر ادنیا این سخن رابه ضرر جان خود نگفته باشد.

Then king Solomon swore by the LORD, saying: 'God do so to me, and more also, if Adonijah have not spoken this word against his own life.

۲۴ 24 و الان قسم به حیات خداوند که مرا استوار نموده، و مرا برکرسی پدرم، داود نشانیده، و خانه‌ای برایم به طوری که وعده نموده بود، برپا کرده است که ادنیا امروز خواهد مرد.»

Now therefore as the LORD liveth, who hath established me, and set me on the throne of David my father, and who hath made me a house, as He promised, surely Adonijah shall be put to death this day.'

۲۵ 25 پس سلیمان پادشاه به‌دست بنایاهو ابن یهویاداع فرستاد و او وی را زدکه مرد.

And king Solomon sent by the hand of Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he fell upon him, so that he died.

۲۶ 26 و پادشاه به ابیاتار کاهن گفت: «به مزرعه خود به عناتوت برو زیرا که تو مستوجب قتل هستی، لیکن امروز تو را نخواهم کشت، چونکه تابوت خداوند، یهوه را در حضور پدرم داودبرمی داشتی، و در تمامی مصیبت های پدرم مصیبت کشیدی.»

And unto Abiathar the priest said the king: 'Get thee to Anathoth, unto thine own fields; for thou art deserving of death; but I will not at this time put thee to death, because thou didst bear the ark of the Lord GOD before David my father, and because thou wast afflicted in all wherein my father was afflicted.'

۲۷ 27 پس سلیمان، ابیاتار را ازکهانت خداوند اخراج نمود تا کلام خداوند را که درباره خاندان عیلی در شیلوه گفته بود، کامل گرداند.

So Solomon thrust out Abiathar from being priest unto the LORD; that the word of the LORD might be fulfilled, which He spoke concerning the house of Eli in Shiloh.

۲۸ 28 و چون خبر به یوآب رسید، یوآب به خیمه خداوند فرار کرده، شاخهای مذبح را گرفت زیراکه یوآب، ادنیا را متابعت کرده، هرچند ابشالوم رامتابعت ننموده بود.

And the tidings came to Joab; for Joab had turned after Adonijah, though he turned not after Absalom. And Joab fled unto the Tent of the LORD, and caught hold on the horns of the altar.

۲۹ 29 و سلیمان پادشاه را خبردادند که یوآب به خیمه خداوند فرار کرده، واینک به پهلوی مذبح است. پس سلیمان، بنایاهوابن یهویاداع را فرستاده، گفت: «برو و او را بکش.»

And it was told king Solomon: 'Joab is fled unto the Tent of the LORD, and, behold, he is by the altar.' Then Solomon sent Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, saying: 'Go, fall upon him.'

۳۰ 30 و بنایاهو به خیمه خداوند داخل شده، او راگفت: «پادشاه چنین می‌فرماید که بیرون بیا.» اوگفت: «نی، بلکه اینجا می‌میرم.» و بنایاهو به پادشاه خبر رسانیده، گفت که «یوآب چنین گفته، و چنین به من جواب داده است.»

And Benaiah came to the Tent of the LORD, and said unto him: 'Thus saith the king: Come forth.' And he said: 'Nay; but I will die here.' And Benaiah brought back word unto the king, saying: 'Thus said Joab, and thus he answered me.'

۳۱ 31 پادشاه وی را فرمود: «موافق سخنش عمل نما و او را کشته، دفن کن تا خون بی‌گناهی را که یوآب ریخته بود از من و از خاندان پدرم دورنمایی.

And the king said unto him: 'Do as he hath said, and fall upon him, and bury him; that thou mayest take away the blood, which Joab shed without cause, from me and from my father's house.

۳۲ 32 و خداوند خونش را بر سر خودش ردخواهد گردانید به‌سبب اینکه بر دو مرد که از اوعادلتر و نیکوتر بودند هجوم آورده، ایشان را با شمشیر کشت و پدرم، داود اطلاع نداشت، یعنی ابنیر بن نیر، سردار لشکر اسرائیل و عماسا ابن یتر، سردار لشکر یهودا.

And the LORD will return his blood upon his own head, because he fell upon two men more righteous and better than he, and slew them with the sword, and my father David knew it not: Abner the son of Ner, captain of the host of Israel, and Amasa the son of Jether, captain of the host of Judah.

۳۳ 33 پس خون ایشان برسر یوآب و بر سر ذریتش تا به ابد برخواهد گشت و برای داود و ذریتش و خاندانش و کرسی‌اش سلامتی از جانب خداوند تا ابدالاباد خواهد بود.»

So shall their blood return upon the head of Joab, and upon the head of his seed for ever; but unto David, and unto his seed, and unto his house, and unto his throne, shall there be peace for ever from the LORD.'

۳۴ 34 پس بنایاهو ابن یهویاداع رفته، او را زد و کشت و او را در خانه‌اش که در صحرا بود، دفن کردند.

Then Benaiah the son of Jehoiada went up, and fell upon him, and slew him; and he was buried in his own house in the wilderness.

۳۵ 35 و پادشاه بنایاهو ابن یهویاداع را به‌جایش به‌سرداری لشکر نصب کرد و پادشاه، صادوق کاهن را در جای ابیاتار گماشت.

And the king put Benaiah the son of Jehoiada in his room over the host; and Zadok the priest did the king put in the room of Abiathar.

۳۶ 36 و پادشاه فرستاده، شمعی را خوانده، وی راگفت: «به جهت خود خانه‌ای در اورشلیم بناکرده، در آنجا ساکن شو و از آنجا به هیچ طرف بیرون مرو.

And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him: Build thee a house in Jerusalem, and dwell there, and go not forth thence any whither.

۳۷ 37 زیرا یقین در روزی که بیرون روی و از نهر قدرون عبور نمایی، بدان که البته خواهی مرد و خونت بر سر خودت خواهد بود.»

For on the day thou goest out, and passest over the brook Kidron, know thou for certain that thou shalt surely die; thy blood shall be upon thine own head.'

۳۸ 38 وشمعی به پادشاه گفت: «آنچه گفتی نیکوست. به طوری که آقایم پادشاه فرموده است، بنده ات چنین عمل خواهد نمود.» پس شمعی روزهای بسیار در اورشلیم ساکن بود.

And Shimei said unto the king: 'The saying is good; as my lord the king hath said, so will thy servant do.' And Shimei dwelt in Jerusalem many days.

۳۹ 39 اما بعد از انقضای سه سال واقع شد که دوغلام شمعی نزد اخیش بن معکه، پادشاه جت فرار کردند و شمعی را خبر داده، گفتند که «اینک غلامانت در جت هستند.»

And it came to pass at the end of three years, that two of the servants of Shimei ran away unto Achish, son of Maacah, king of Gath. And they told Shimei, saying: 'Behold, thy servants are in Gath.'

۴۰ 40 و شمعی برخاسته، الاغ خود را بیاراست و به جستجوی غلامانش، نزد اخیش به جت روانه شد، و شمعی رفته، غلامان خود را از جت بازآورد.

And Shimei arose, and saddled his ass, and went to Gath to Achish, to seek his servants; and Shimei went, and brought his servants from Gath.

۴۱ 41 و به سلیمان خبر دادند که شمعی از اورشلیم به جت رفته وبرگشته است.

And it was told Solomon that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath, and was come back.

۴۲ 42 و پادشاه فرستاده، شمعی را خواند و وی را گفت: «آیا تو را به خداوند قسم ندادم و تو را نگفتم در روزی که بیرون شوی و به هر جا بروی یقین بدان که خواهی مرد، و تو مراگفتی سخنی که شنیدم نیکوست.

And the king sent and called for Shimei, and said unto him: 'Did I not make thee to swear by the LORD, and forewarned thee, saying: Know for certain, that on the day thou goest out, and walkest abroad any whither, thou shalt surely die? and thou saidst unto me: The saying is good; I have heard it.

۴۳ 43 پس قسم خداوند و حکمی را که به تو امر فرمودم، چرانگاه نداشتی؟»

Why then hast thou not kept the oath of the LORD, and the commandment that I have charged thee with?'

۴۴ 44 و پادشاه به شمعی گفت: «تمامی بدی را که دلت از آن آگاهی دارد که به پدر من داود کرده‌ای، می‌دانی و خداوند شرارت تو را به‌سرت برگردانیده است.

The king said moreover to Shimei: 'Thou knowest all the wickedness which thy heart is privy to, that thou didst to David my father; therefore the LORD shall return thy wickedness upon thine own head.

۴۵ 45 و سلیمان پادشاه، مبارک خواهد بود و کرسی داود درحضور خداوند تا به ابد پایدار خواهد ماند.»

But king Solomon shall be blessed, and the throne of David shall be established before the LORD for ever.'

۴۶ 46 پس پادشاه بنایاهو ابن یهویاداع را امر فرمود واو بیرون رفته، او را زد که مرد. و سلطنت در دست سلیمان برقرار گردید.

So the king commanded Benaiah the son of Jehoiada; and he went out, and fell upon him, so that he died. And the kingdom was established in the hand of Solomon.
