| و ایلیای تشبی که از ساکنان جلعاد بود، به اخاب گفت: «به حیات یهوه، خدای اسرائیل که به حضور وی ایستاده‌ام قسم که دراین سالها شبنم و باران جز به کلام من نخواهدبود.» | ۱ 1 |
Elijah the Tishbite, who was one of the settlers of Gilead, said to Ahab, “As the LORD, the God of Israel, lives, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.”
| و کلام خداوند بر وی نازل شده، گفت: | ۲ 2 |
Then the LORD’s word came to him, saying,
| «ازاینجا برو و به طرف مشرق توجه نما و خویشتن را نزد نهر کریت که در مقابل اردن است، پنهان کن. | ۳ 3 |
“Go away from here, turn eastward, and hide yourself by the brook Cherith, that is before the Jordan.
| و از نهر خواهی نوشید و غرابها را امر فرموده‌ام که تو را در آنجا بپرورند.» | ۴ 4 |
You shall drink from the brook. I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.”
| پس روانه شده، موافق کلام خداوند عمل نموده، و رفته نزد نهرکریت که در مقابل اردن است، ساکن شد. | ۵ 5 |
So he went and did according to the LORD’s word, for he went and lived by the brook Cherith that is before the Jordan.
| وغرابها در صبح، نان و گوشت برای وی و در شام، نان و گوشت می‌آوردند و از نهر می‌نوشید. | ۶ 6 |
The ravens brought him bread and meat in the morning, and bread and meat in the evening; and he drank from the brook.
| وبعد از انقضای روزهای چند، واقع شد که نهرخشکید زیرا که باران در زمین نبود. | ۷ 7 |
After a while, the brook dried up, because there was no rain in the land.
| و کلام خداوند بر وی نازل شده، گفت: | ۸ 8 |
The LORD’s word came to him, saying,
| «برخاسته، به صرفه که نزد صیدون است برو ودر آنجا ساکن بشو، اینک به بیوه‌زنی در آنجا امرفرموده‌ام که تو را بپرورد.» | ۹ 9 |
“Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Sidon, and stay there. Behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you.”
| پس برخاسته، به صرفه رفت و چون نزد دروازه شهر رسید اینک بیوه‌زنی در آنجا هیزم برمی چید، پس او را صدازده، گفت: «تمنا اینکه جرعه‌ای آب در ظرفی برای من بیاوری تا بنوشم.» | ۱۰ 10 |
So he arose and went to Zarephath; and when he came to the gate of the city, behold, a widow was there gathering sticks. He called to her and said, “Please get me a little water in a jar, that I may drink.”
| و چون به جهت آوردن آن می‌رفت وی را صدا زده، گفت: «لقمه‌ای نان برای من در دست خود بیاور.» | ۱۱ 11 |
As she was going to get it, he called to her and said, “Please bring me a morsel of bread in your hand.”
| اوگفت: «به حیات یهوه، خدایت قسم که قرص نانی ندارم، بلکه فقط یک مشت آرد در تاپو و قدری روغن در کوزه، و اینک دو چوبی برمی چینم تارفته، آن را برای خود و پسرم بپزم که بخوریم وبمیرم.» | ۱۲ 12 |
She said, “As the LORD your God lives, I don’t have anything baked, but only a handful of meal in a jar and a little oil in a jar. Behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and bake it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.”
| ایلیا وی را گفت: «مترس، برو و به طوری که گفتی بکن. لیکن اول گرده‌ای کوچک ازآن برای من بپز و نزد من بیاور، و بعد از آن برای خود و پسرت بپز. | ۱۳ 13 |
Elijah said to her, “Don’t be afraid. Go and do as you have said; but make me a little cake from it first, and bring it out to me, and afterward make some for you and for your son.
| زیرا که یهوه، خدای اسرائیل، چنین می‌گوید که تا روزی که خداوندباران بر زمین نباراند، تاپوی آرد تمام نخواهدشد، و کوزه روغن کم نخواهد گردید.» | ۱۴ 14 |
For the LORD, the God of Israel, says, ‘The jar of meal will not run out, and the jar of oil will not fail, until the day that the LORD sends rain on the earth.’”
| پس رفته، موافق کلام ایلیا عمل نمود. و زن و او وخاندان زن، روزهای بسیار خوردند. | ۱۵ 15 |
She went and did according to the saying of Elijah; and she, he, and her household ate many days.
| و تاپوی آرد تمام نشد و کوزه روغن کم نگردید، موافق کلام خداوند که به واسطه ایلیا گفته بود. | ۱۶ 16 |
The jar of meal didn’t run out and the jar of oil didn’t fail, according to the LORD’s word, which he spoke by Elijah.
| و بعد از این امور واقع شد که پسر آن زن که صاحب‌خانه بود، بیمار شد. و مرض او چنان سخت شد که نفسی در او باقی نماند. | ۱۷ 17 |
After these things, the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, became sick; and his sickness was so severe that there was no breath left in him.
| و به ایلیاگفت: «ای مرد خدا مرا با تو چه‌کار است؟ آیا نزدمن آمدی تا گناه مرا بیاد آوری و پسر مرابکشی؟» | ۱۸ 18 |
She said to Elijah, “What have I to do with you, you man of God? You have come to me to bring my sin to memory, and to kill my son!”
| او وی را گفت: «پسرت را به من بده.» پس او را از آغوش وی گرفته، به بالاخانه‌ای که درآن ساکن بود، برد و او را بر بستر خود خوابانید. | ۱۹ 19 |
He said to her, “Give me your son.” He took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into the room where he stayed, and laid him on his own bed.
| و نزد خداوند استغاثه نموده، گفت: «ای یهوه، خدای من، آیا به بیوه‌زنی نیز که من نزد او ماواگزیده‌ام بلا رسانیدی و پسر او را کشتی؟» | ۲۰ 20 |
He cried to the LORD and said, “LORD my God, have you also brought evil on the widow with whom I am staying, by killing her son?”
| آنگاه خویشتن را سه مرتبه بر پسر دراز کرده، نزد خداوند استغاثه نموده، گفت: «ای یهوه، خدای من، مسالت اینکه جان این پسر به وی برگردد.» | ۲۱ 21 |
He stretched himself on the child three times, and cried to the LORD and said, “LORD my God, please let this child’s soul come into him again.”
| و خداوند آواز ایلیا را اجابت نمود وجان پسر به وی برگشت که زنده شد. | ۲۲ 22 |
The LORD listened to the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.
| و ایلیاپسر را گرفته، او را از بالاخانه به خانه به زیر آوردو به مادرش سپرد و ایلیا گفت: «ببین که پسرت زنده است! | ۲۳ 23 |
Elijah took the child and brought him down out of the room into the house, and delivered him to his mother; and Elijah said, “Behold, your son lives.”
| پس آن زن به ایلیا گفت: «الان از این دانستم که تو مرد خدا هستی و کلام خداوند دردهان تو راست است.» | ۲۴ 24 |
The woman said to Elijah, “Now I know that you are a man of God, and that the LORD’s word in your mouth is truth.”
