اول قرنتیان 14

۱ 1 در‌پی محبت بکوشید و عطایای روحانی را به غیرت بطلبید، خصوص اینکه نبوت کنید.

Follow after love; and be emulous of the gifts of the Spirit, and especially, that ye may prophesy.

۲ 2 زیرا کسی‌که به زبانی سخن می‌گوید، نه به مردم بلکه به خدا می‌گوید، زیراهیچ‌کس نمی فهمد لیکن در روح به اسرار تکلم می‌نماید.

For he that speaketh in a tongue, speaketh not unto men, but unto God; for no one understandeth what is said; yet in the spirit, he speaketh a mystery.

۳ 3 اما آنکه نبوت می‌کند، مردم را برای بنا و نصیحت و تسلی می‌گوید.

But he that prophesieth, speaketh unto men, for edification, and exhortation, and consolation.

۴ 4 هرکه به زبانی می‌گوید، خود را بنا می‌کند، اما آنکه نبوت می‌نماید، کلیسا را بنا می‌کند.

He that speaketh in a tongue, edifieth himself: and he that prophesieth, edifieth the church.

۵ 5 و خواهش دارم که همه شما به زبانها تکلم کنید، لکن بیشتر اینکه نبوت نمایید زیرا کسی‌که نبوت کند بهتر است ازکسی‌که به زبانها حرف زند، مگر آنکه ترجمه کندتا کلیسا بنا شود.

Now I would that ye all spoke with tongues, but rather that ye prophesied; for greater is he that prophesieth, than he that speaketh in a tongue, unless he interpret; and if he interpret, he edifieth the church.

۶ 6 اما الحال‌ای برادران اگر نزد شما آیم و به زبانها سخن رانم، شما را چه سود می‌بخشم؟ مگرآنکه شما را به مکاشفه یا به معرفت یا به نبوت یا به تعلیم گویم.

And now, my brethren, if I should come among you, and speak to you in tongues, what should I profit you; unless I should speak to you either by revelation, or by knowledge, or by prophecy, or by doctrine?

۷ 7 و همچنین چیزهای بیجان که صدا می‌دهد چون نی یا بربط اگر در صداها فرق نکند، چگونه آواز نی یا بربط فهمیده می‌شود؟

For even inanimate things that emit sound, whether pipe or harp, if they make no distinction between one sound and another, how will it be known, what is sung or what is harped?

۸ 8 زیر اگر کرنا نیز صدای نامعلوم دهد که خود رامهیای جنگ می‌سازد؟

And if the trumpet shall give an uncertain sound, who will prepare himself for the battle?

۹ 9 همچنین شما نیز به زبان، سخن مفهوم نگویید، چگونه معلوم می‌شودآن چیزی که گفته شد زیرا که به هوا سخن خواهید گفت؟

So likewise if ye utter a discourse in a tongue, and there is no interpretation given, how will it be known what ye have said? Ye will have been as if ye spoke into the air.

۱۰ 10 زیرا که انواع زبانهای دنیاهرقدر زیاده باشد، ولی یکی بی‌معنی نیست.

For lo, there are many kinds of tongues in the world; and there is not one of them without meaning.

۱۱ 11 پس هرگاه قوت زبان را نمی دانم، نزد متکلم بربری می‌باشم و آنکه سخن گوید نزد من بربری می‌باشد.

But if I do not know the import of the sound, I shall be a barbarian to him that speaketh, and the speaker will be a barbarian to me.

۱۲ 12 همچنن شما نیز چونکه غیورعطایای روحانی هستید بطلبید اینکه برای بنای کلیسا افزوده شوید.

So also ye, since ye are emulous of the gifts of the Spirit for the edification of the church, seek ye to excel.

۱۳ 13 بنابراین کسی‌که به زبانی سخن می‌گوید، دعا بکند تا ترجمه نماید.

And let him that speaketh in a tongue, pray that he may interpret.

۱۴ 14 زیرا اگر به زبانی دعاکنم، روح من دعا می‌کند لکن عقل من برخوردارنمی شود.

For if I should pray in a tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is without fruits.

۱۵ 15 پس مقصود چیست؟ به روح دعاخواهم کرد و به عقل نیز دعا خواهم نمود؛ به روح سرود خواهم خواند و به عقل نیز خواهم خواند.

What then shall I do? I will pray with my spirit, and will pray with my understanding; and I will sing with my spirit, and will sing with my understanding.

۱۶ 16 زیرا اگر در روح تبرک می‌خوانی، چگونه آن کسی‌که به منزلت امی است، به شکر تو آمین گوید و حال آنکه نمی فهمد چه می‌گویی؟

Otherwise, if thou blessest in the spirit, how shall he that filleth the place of one unlearned, say Amen, on thy giving thanks; for he knoweth not what thou sayest?

۱۷ 17 زیرا تو البته خوب شکر می‌کنی، لکن آن دیگربنا نمی شود.

Thou blessest, indeed, very well; but thy neighbor is not edified.

۱۸ 18 خدا را شکر می‌کنم که زیادتر ازهمه شما به زبانها حرف می‌زنم.

I thank God, that I speak with tongues more than all of you.

۱۹ 19 لکن در کلیسابیشتر می‌پسندم که پنج کلمه به عقل خود گویم تادیگران را نیز تعلیم دهم از آنکه هزاران کلمه به زبان بگویم.

But in the church, I would rather speak five words with my understanding, that I might instruct others, than a myriad of words in a tongue.

۲۰ 20 ‌ای برادران، در فهم اطفال مباشید بلکه در بدخویی اطفال باشید و در فهم رشید.

My brethren, be ye not children in your thoughts; but to evil things be ye infants; and in your thoughts be men.

۲۱ 21 درتورات مکتوب است که «خداوند می‌گوید به زبانهای بیگانه و لبهای غیر به این قوم سخن خواهم گفت و با این همه مرا نخواهند شنید.»

In the law it is written, With a foreign speech, and in another tongue, will I speak with this people; and even so also they will not hearken to me, saith the Lord.

۲۲ 22 پس زبانها نشانی است نه برای ایمان داران بلکه برای بی‌ایمانان؛ اما نبوت برای بی‌ایمان نیست بلکه برای ایمانداران است.

Wherefore, tongues are established for a sign, not to the believers, but to them that believe not. But prophesyings are not for those who believe not, but for them that believe.

۲۳ 23 پس اگر تمام کلیسادر جایی جمع شوند و همه به زبانها حرف زنند وامیان یا بی‌ایمانان داخل شوند، آیا نمی گویند که دیوانه‌اید؟

If therefore the whole church assemble, and they all speak with tongues, and there come in unlearned persons, or such as believe not, will they not say: These people are crazy?

۲۴ 24 ولی اگر همه نبوت کنند و کسی ازبی ایمانان یا امیان درآید، از همه توبیخ می‌یابد واز همه ملزم می‌گردد،

But if ye should be all prophesying, and one unlearned or an unbeliever should come among you, he is explored by you all, and rebuked by you all;

۲۵ 25 و خفایای قلب او ظاهرمی شود و همچنین به روی درافتاده، خدا راعبادت خواهد کرد و ندا خواهد داد که «فی الحقیقه خدا در میان شما است.»

and the secrets of his heart are laid open to him: and so he will fall upon his face, and will worship God, and say: Verily, God is in you.

۲۶ 26 پس‌ای برادران مقصود این است که وقتی که جمع شوید، هریکی از شما سرودی دارد، تعلیمی دارد، زبانی دارد، مکاشفه‌ای دارد، ترجمه‌ای دارد، باید همه بجهت بنا بشود.

I therefore say to you my brethren, that when ye assemble, whoever of you hath a psalm, let him speak; and whoever hath a doctrine, and whoever hath a revelation, and whoever hath a tongue, and whoever hath an interpretation. Let them all be for edification.

۲۷ 27 اگرکسی به زبانی سخن گوید، دو دو یا نهایت سه سه باشند، به ترتیب و کسی ترجمه کند.

And if any speak in a tongue, let two speak or at most, three; and let them speak one by one; and let some one interpret.

۲۸ 28 اما اگرمترجمی نباشد، در کلیسا خاموش باشد و با خودو با خدا سخن گوید.

And if there is none to interpret, let him that speaketh in a tongue, be silent in the church; and let him speak to himself and to God.

۲۹ 29 و از انبیا دو یا سه سخن بگویند و دیگران تمیز دهند.

And as to prophets, let two or three speak, and let the rest judge.

۳۰ 30 و اگر چیزی به دیگری از اهل مجلس مکشوف شود، آن اول ساکت شود.

And if to another sitting by, there should be a revelation, let the first stop speaking.

۳۱ 31 زیرا که همه می‌توانید یک یک نبوت کنید تا همه تعلیم یابند و همه نصیحت‌پذیرند.

For ye can all prophesy, one by one; so that every one may learn, and every one be comforted.

۳۲ 32 و ارواح انبیا مطیع انبیا می‌باشند.

For the spirit of the prophets is subject to the prophets.

۳۳ 33 زیرا که او خدای تشویش نیست بلکه خدای سلامتی، چنانکه در همه کلیساهای مقدسان.

Because, God is not the author of tumult, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

۳۴ 34 و زنان شما در کلیساها خاموش باشند زیرا که ایشان را حرف زدن جایز نیست بلکه اطاعت نمودن، چنانکه تورات نیز می‌گوید.

Let your women be silent in the church: for it is not permitted them to speak, but to be in subjection, as also the law saith.

۳۵ 35 اما اگرمی خواهند چیزی بیاموزند، در خانه از شوهران خود بپرسند، چون زنان را در کلیسا حرف زدن قبیح است.

And if they wish to be informed on any subject, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is unbecoming for women to speak in the church.

۳۶ 36 آیا کلام خدا از شما صادر شد یا به شما به تنهایی رسید؟

What! was it from you that the word of God came forth? Or did it reach only to you?

۳۷ 37 اگر کسی خود را نبی یاروحانی پندارد، اقرار بکند که آنچه به شمامی نویسم، احکام خداوند است.

And if any one among you thinketh that he is a prophet, or that he is spiritual, let him recognize the things which I write to you, as being the precepts of our Lord.

۳۸ 38 اما اگر کسی جاهل است، جاهل باشد.

But if any one be ignorant, let him be ignorant.

۳۹ 39 پس‌ای برادران، نبوت را به غیرت بطلبید و از تکلم نمودن به زبانهامنع مکنید.

Wherefore, my brethren, be emulous of prophesying: and to speak with tongues, prohibit not.

۴۰ 40 لکن همه‌چیز به شایستگی و انتظام باشد.

But let every thing be done with decency and regularity.
