اول تواریخ 18

۱ 1 و بعد از اين واقع شد که داود فلسطينيان را شکست داده، مغلوب ساخت و جَتّ و قريه هايش را از دست فلسطينيان گرفت.

After this it happened, that David struck the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and its towns out of the hand of the Philistines.

۲ 2 و موآب را شکست داد و موآبيان بندگان داود شده، هدايا آوردند.

He struck Moab; and the Moabites became servants to David, and brought tribute.

۳ 3 و داود هَدَرعَزَر پادشاه صُوبَه را در حَمات هنگامي که مي رفت تا سلطنت خود را نزد نهر فرات استوار سازد، شکست داد.

David struck Hadadezer king of Zobah to Hamath, as he went to establish his dominion by the river Perath.

۴ 4 و داود هزار ارابه و هفت هزار سوار و بيست هزار پياده از او گرفت، و داود تمامي اسبان ارابه را پي کرد، اما از آنها براي صد ارابه نگاه داشت.

David took from him one thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen; and David hamstrung all the chariot horses, but reserved of them for one hundred chariots.

۵ 5 و چون اَراميانِ دمشق به مدد هَدَرعَزَر پادشاه صُوبَه آمدند، داود بيست و دو هزار نفر از اَراميان را کشت.

When the Arameans of Damascus came to help Hadadezer king of Zobah, David struck of the Arameans twenty-two thousand men.

۶ 6 و داود در اَرامِ دمشق (قراولان) گذاشت و اَراميان بندگان داود شده، هدايا آوردند. و خداوند داود را در هر جا که مي رفت نصرت مي داد.

Then David put garrisons in Aram of Damascus; and the Arameans became servants to David, and brought tribute. The LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.

۷ 7 و داود سپرهاي طلا را که بر خادمان هَدَرعَزَر بود گرفته، آنها را به اورشليم آورد.

And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.

۸ 8 و داود از طِبحَت و کُون شهرهاي هَدَرعَزَر برنج از حد زياده گرفت که از آن سُليمان درياچه و ستونها و ظروف برنجين ساخت.

From Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much bronze, with which Solomon made the bronze sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of bronze.

۹ 9 و چون تُوعُو پادشاه حَمات شنيد که داود تمامي لشکر هَدَرعَزَر پادشاه صُوبَه را شکست داده است،

When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,

۱۰ 10 پسر خود هَدُرام را نزد داود پادشاه فرستاد تا سلامتي او بپرسد و او را تَهنِيت گويد از آن جهت که با هَدَرعَزَر جنگ نموده او را شکست داده بود، زيرا هَدَرعَزَر با تُوعُو مقاتله مي نمود؛ و هر قِسم ظروف طلا و نقره و برنج (با خود آورد).

he sent Hadoram his son to king David, to Greet him, and to bless him, because he had fought against Hadadezer and struck him; (for Hadadezer had wars with Tou; ) and he had with him all kinds of vessels of gold and silver and bronze.

۱۱ 11 و داود پادشاه آنها را نيز براي خداوند وقف نمود، با نقره و طلايي که از جميع امّت ها يعني از اَدُوم و موآب و بني عَمُّون و فلسطينيان و عَمالَقَه آورده بود.

The King also dedicated these to the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he took from all the nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the people of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.

۱۲ 12 و اَبِشاي ابن صَرُويه هجده هزار نفر از اَدُوميان را در وادي مِلح کشت.

Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah struck of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand.

۱۳ 13 و در اَدُوم قراولان قرار داد و جميع اَدُوميان بندگان داود شدند و خداوند داود را در هر جايي که مي رفت نصرت مي داد.

He put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. The LORD gave victory to David wherever he went.

۱۴ 14 و داود بر تمامي اسرائيل سلطنت نمود، انصاف و عدالت را بر تمامي قوم خود مجزا مي داشت.

David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness to all his people.

۱۵ 15 و يوآب بن صَرُويه سردار لشکر بود و يهوشافاط بن اَخِيلُود وقايع نگار.

Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;

۱۶ 16 و صادوق بن اَخِيطُوب و ابيمَلِک بن اَبياتار کاهن بودند و شوشا کاتب بود.

and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shisha was scribe;

۱۷ 17 و بنايا ابن يهُوياداع رئيس کَريتيان و فَلِيتيان و پسران داود نزد پادشاه مقدم بودند.

and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
