1 ੧ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਹੇ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਆਪਣਾ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਵਿਖਾ!
O God, of vengeance, Lord! O God of vengeance, shine forth.
2 ੨ ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਨਿਆਈਂ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਉਠਾ, ਹੰਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੋਗ ਬਦਲਾ ਦੇ!
Lift up thyself, O judge of the Earth! bring a recompense upon the proud.
3 ੩ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਜਦੋਂ ਤੋੜੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ, ਕਦੋਂ ਤੋੜੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਬਗਲਾਂ ਵਜਾਉਣਗੇ?
How long shall the wicked, O Lord—how long shall the wicked exult?
4 ੪ ਓਹ ਡਕਾਰਦੇ, ਓਹ ਨੱਕ ਚੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੇ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਬਦਕਾਰ ਵੱਡੇ ਬੋਲ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ!
They sputter, they speak hard things: all the workers of wickedness boast themselves.
5 ੫ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਓਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਚੂਰ-ਚੂਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਓਹ ਤੇਰੀ ਮਿਰਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
Thy people, O Lord! they crush, and thy heritage they afflict.
6 ੬ ਓਹ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਯਤੀਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਘਾਤ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ,
The widow and the stranger they slay, and the fatherless they murder.
7 ੭ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨਾ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਕੁਝ ਧਿਆਨ ਨਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ!
And they say, The Lord will not see, and the God of Jacob will not take notice of it.
8 ੮ ਹੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਵੱਤ ਲੋਕੋ, ਸਮਝੋ! ਹੇ ਮੂਰਖੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੋਂ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨ ਬਣੋਗੇ?
Understand, ye brutish among the people: and ye fools, when will ye become intelligent!
9 ੯ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਕੰਨ ਲਾਇਆ, ਭਲਾ, ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ? ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅੱਖ ਰਚੀ, ਭਲਾ, ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ?
He that hath planted the ear, shall he not hear? or he that hath formed the eye, shall he not see?
10 ੧੦ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਾੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਦਿਆ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਭਲਾ, ਉਹ ਨਾ ਝਿੜਕੇਗਾ?
He that admonisheth nations, shall he not correct? is it not he that teacheth man knowledge!
11 ੧੧ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਦਮੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਹਨ।
The Lord knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are nought.
12 ੧੨ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਧੰਨ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਪੁਰਖ ਜਿਹ ਨੂੰ ਤੂੰ ਤਾੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ!
Happy is the man whom thou admonisheth, O Lord, and teachest him out of thy law:
13 ੧੩ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਰਿਆਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਚੈਨ ਦੇਵੇਂ, ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਟੋਆ ਨਾ ਪੁੱਟਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
That thou mayest grant him repose from the days of evil, until the pot be dug for the wicked.
14 ੧੪ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਛੱਡੇਗਾ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਿਰਾਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਿਆਗੇਗਾ।
For the Lord will not cast off his people, and his inheritance will he not forsake.
15 ੧੫ ਜਾਂ ਨਿਆਂ ਧਰਮ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਸੁੱਧ ਮਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗਣਗੇ।
For unto righteousness will justice return; and it shall be followed by all the upright in heart.
16 ੧੬ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਬੁਰਿਆਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਉੱਠੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਬਦਕਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕੌਣ ਕਰੇਗਾ?
Who will rise up for me against evil-doers? or who will stand forward for me against the workers of wickedness?
17 ੧੭ ਜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਹਾਇਕ ਨਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਝੱਟ ਖਾਮੋਸ਼ੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਵੱਸਦੀ।
Unless the Lord had been a help unto me, but a little would have been wanting that my soul had dwelt in the silence of death.
18 ੧੮ ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੇਰਾ ਪੈਰ ਡੋਲਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ, ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੇਰੀ ਦਯਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੰਭਾਲਦੀ ਸੀ।
When I said, My foot hath slipped: thy kindness, O Lord, sustained me.
19 ੧੯ ਜਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਬਹੁਤ ਚਿੰਤਾ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੀਆਂ ਤਸੱਲੀਆਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਜੀਅ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
In the multitude of my [painful] thoughts within me, thy consolations delight my soul.
20 ੨੦ ਕੀ ਬਰਬਾਦੀ ਦੀ ਰਾਜ ਗੱਦੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਾਂਝ ਰੱਖੇਗੀ, ਜੋ ਬਿਧੀ ਦੀ ਓਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਰਾਰਤ ਘੜਦੀ ਹੈ?
Can there be associated with thee the throne of destructive wickedness, which frameth mischief as a law?
21 ੨੧ ਓਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਲਹੂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
They band themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and innocent blood do they condemn.
22 ੨੨ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਉੱਚਾ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਨਾਹ ਦੀ ਚੱਟਾਨ,
But the Lord is become my defence, and my God, the rock of my refuge.
23 ੨੩ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਦੀ ਮੁੜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਦੇ ਪੱਲੇ ਪਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ, ਹਾਂ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ!
And he will bring back upon them their own injustice, and in their own wickedness will he destroy them: [yea], he will destroy them—the Lord our God.
