1 ੧ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵਜਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਲਈ: ਤਾਰ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਾਜਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ। ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਾਂ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦੇ, ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ। ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਮੁਸੀਬਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ, ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਦਯਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਸੁਣ ਲੈ।
To the Chief Musician: with stringed instruments. A Melody of David. When I cry, answer me, O mine own righteous God, In a strait place, thou hast made room for me, Show me favour, and hear my prayer.
2 ੨ ਹੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਹਿਮਾ ਦਾ ਅਨਾਦਰ ਕਰੋਗੇ, ਵਿਅਰਥ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਲਾਓਗੇ, ਝੂਠ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਲੋਗੇ? ਸਲਹ।
Ye sons of the great! how long, turning my glory to contempt, will ye love emptiness, will ye seek falsehood? (Selah)
3 ੩ ਪਰ ਇਹ ਜਾਣੋ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਜਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਲਈ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਕਰ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਜਦੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣੇਗਾ।
Know ye, then, that Yahweh hath set apart the man of lovingkindness for himself: Yahweh, will hear, when I cry to him.
4 ੪ ਕੰਬ ਜਾਓ ਅਤੇ ਪਾਪ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ, ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਬਿਸਤਰਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੋਚੋ ਅਤੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਰਹੋ। ਸਲਹ।
Be deeply moved, but do not sin, —Ponder in your own heart upon your bed, and be silent. (Selah)
5 ੫ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਬਲੀਦਾਨ ਚੜਾਓ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਆਸ ਰੱਖੋ।
Sacrifice the sacrifices of righteousness; and put your trust in Yahweh.
6 ੬ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਕੁਝ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਵਿਖਾਵੇਗਾ? ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਆਪਣੇ ਮੁੱਖੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚਮਕਾ।
Multitudes, are saying, Who will show us prosperity? Lift thou upon us the light of thy countenance, O Yahweh.
7 ੭ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲੋਂ, ਜਦੋਂ ਦਾਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਖਰਸ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ, ਵਧੇਰੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਪਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Thou hast put gladness in my heart, —beyond the season when, their corn and their new wine, have increased.
8 ੮ ਮੈਂ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਲੇਟਦਿਆਂ ਹੀ ਸੌਂ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਸਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ।
In peace, will I lay me down and at once sleep; for, thou, Yahweh alone, wilt cause me, in security, to dwell.
