ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 39

1 ੧ ਯਦੂਥੂਨ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਵਜਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਦਾਊਦ ਦਾ ਭਜਨ। ਮੈਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਚਾਲ-ਚਲਣ ਦੀ ਚੌਕਸੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਕਿ ਕਿਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਨਾਲ ਪਾਪ ਨਾ ਕਰਾਂ। ਜਿੰਨਾਂ ਚਿਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੈ, ਮੈਂ ਲਗਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖਾਂਗਾ।

2 ੨ ਮੈਂ ਚੁੱਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਗੂੰਗਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਭਲਿਆਈ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਚੁੱਪ ਵੱਟ ਛੱਡੀ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਵੱਧ ਪਿਆ।

So I was completely silent—I didn't even say anything good. But the pain inside only got worse.

3 ੩ ਮੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਦਰੋਂ ਤਪ ਗਿਆ, ਮੇਰੇ ਸੋਚਦਿਆਂ-ਸੋਚਦਿਆਂ ਅੱਗ ਭੜਕ ਉੱਠੀ, ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਜੀਭ ਤੋਂ ਬੋਲ ਉੱਠਿਆ,

My mind burned as if on fire; I had to say what I was thinking:

4 ੪ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਅੰਤ ਦੱਸ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਜਾਣਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਿਤਾਣਾ ਹਾਂ।

Lord, remind me. How short is my life? How long do I have? Remind me how quickly my life will pass.

5 ੫ ਵੇਖ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਚੱਪਾ ਭਰ ਠਹਿਰਾਏ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਕੁਝ ਹੈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਹਰ ਆਦਮੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸਥਿਰ ਵੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਦ ਵੀ ਸਾਹ ਮਾਤਰ ਹੀ ਹੈ!

Just look at the tiny amount of days you have given me! In your eyes my whole lifetime is like nothing. Our lives here are just a breath… (Selah)

6 ੬ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਛਾਇਆ ਹੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਉਹ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਰੌਲ਼ਾ ਪਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ! ਉਹ ਮਾਇਆ ਜੋੜਦਾ ਹੈ ਪਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਸਾਂਭੇਗਾ!

Human beings are just shadows walking around. They pointlessly rush through life, trying to pile up possessions without knowing who will get them.

7 ੭ ਹੁਣ, ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ, ਮੈਂ ਕਾਹਦੀ ਉਡੀਕ ਕਰਾਂ? ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੀ ਹੀ ਆਸ ਹੈ।

So Lord, what am I looking for? I put my hope in you.

8 ੮ ਮੇਰਿਆਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾ, ਮੂਰਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਉਲਾਂਭਾ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਠਹਿਰਾ!

Save me from my rebellion. Don't let me be mocked by fools.

9 ੯ ਮੈਂ ਗੂੰਗਾ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਾ ਖੋਲਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਹੀ ਇਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

I will stay quiet, I won't say a word, for it's you who has done this to me.

10 ੧੦ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਟ ਨੂੰ ਮੈਥੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਦੇ, ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੀ ਮਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮੈਂ ਭਸਮ ਹੋਇਆ ਹਾਂ।

Please stop hitting me! Your beating has worn me out!

11 ੧੧ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਬਦੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਤਾੜਦਾ ਹੈਂ, ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਹੁੱਪਣ ਨੂੰ ਪਤੰਗੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਅਲੋਪ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਹਰ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਸੁਆਸ ਹੀ ਹੈ! ਸਲਹ।

When you discipline us, reprimanding us for our sins, it's like a moth eating up what is precious to us. All of us are just a breath… (Selah)

12 ੧੨ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾਂ ਸੁਣ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਵੱਲ ਕੰਨ ਲਾ, ਮੇਰਿਆਂ ਹੰਝੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਨਾ ਕਰ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਮੁਸਾਫ਼ਰ ਹਾਂ।

Please hear my prayer, Lord! Listen to my cry for help! Don't be deaf to my weeping. Please treat me as your guest, passing through, just like my forefathers.

13 ੧੩ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਖ ਫੇਰ ਲੈ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਟਹਿਕਾਂ, ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਚਲਾ ਜਾਂਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਫੇਰ ਨਾ ਹੋਵਾਂ।

Please leave me alone so I can be cheerful again, before I am dead and gone.
