ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 129

1 ੧ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਇਹ ਆਖੇ,

Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth up. Let Israel now say,

2 ੨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਵਾਨੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਦੁੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਬਲ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ!

Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth up, yet they have not prevailed against me.

3 ੩ ਹਾਲ੍ਹੀ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਿੱਠ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਲ ਵਾਹਿਆ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੰਮੇ-ਲੰਮੇ ਸਿਆੜ ਕੱਢੇ!

The plowers plowed upon my back. They made long their furrows.

4 ੪ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਧਰਮੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਨੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਗੁਲਾਮੀ ਤੋਂ ਅਜ਼ਾਦ ਕੀਤਾ ।

Jehovah is righteous. He has cut apart the cords of the wicked.

5 ੫ ਜਿੰਨੇ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਨਾਲ ਵੈਰ ਰੱਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦੇ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਪਛਾੜੇ ਜਾਣ!

Let them be put to shame and turned backward, all those who hate Zion.

6 ੬ ਉਹ ਛੱਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਘਾਹ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੋਣ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਵਧਣ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ,

Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withers before it grows up,

7 ੭ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਵਾਢਾ ਆਪਣੀ ਮੁੱਠ ਨਹੀਂ ਭਰਦਾ, ਨਾ ਪੂਲੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਪਣਾ ਪੱਲਾ,

with which the reaper fills not his hand, nor he who binds sheaves, his bosom.

8 ੮ ਅਤੇ ਲੰਘਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਦੇ, “ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਰਕਤ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੋਵੇ, ਅਸੀਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੋਂ ਬਰਕਤ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਾਂ।”

Neither do those who go by say, The blessing of Jehovah be upon you. We bless you in the name of Jehovah.
