ਜ਼ਬੂਰ 120

1 ੧ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਦਾ ਗੀਤ ਆਪਣੀ ਬਿਪਤਾ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

“A song of the degrees.” Unto the Lord, when I was in distress, did I call, and he hath answered me.

2 ੨ ਹੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਝੂਠੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ, ਅਤੇ ਛਲੇਡੀ ਜੀਭ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾ ਲੈ!

O Lord, deliver my soul from lips of falsehood, and from a tongue of deceit.

3 ੩ ਹੇ ਛਲੇਡੀਏ ਜੀਭੇ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਕੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ?

What will [God] give unto thee? or what will he add unto thee, thou tongue of deceit?

4 ੪ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਦੇ ਤਿੱਖੇ ਤੀਰ, ਝਾੜੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਗਿਆਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ!

5 ੫ ਹਾਏ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਮੇਸ਼ੇਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ, ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਕੇਦਾਰ ਦੇ ਡੇਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਹਾਂ!

Woe is me, that I sojourn in Meshech, that I dwell in the tents of Kedar!

6 ੬ ਮੇਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਲ ਦੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੱਕ ਵੱਸਣਾ ਪਿਆ।

Too long for herself hath my soul dwelt with him that hateth peace.

7 ੭ ਮੈਂ ਮੇਲ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਜਦ ਮੈਂ ਬੋਲਦਾ ਹਾਂ, ਉਹ ਲੜਾਈ ਚਾਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ!

I am for peace; but when I speak, they are for war.
