1 ੧ ਜਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਿਆ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦਾ ਘਰਾਣਾ ਇੱਕ ਓਪਰੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਤੋਂ,
When Israel went out of Egypt, and the house of Iaakob from the barbarous people,
2 ੨ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਰਾਜ ਹੋਇਆ।
Iudah was his sanctification, and Israel his dominion.
3 ੩ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਨੇ ਡਿੱਠਾ ਤੇ ਨੱਠਾ, ਯਰਦਨ ਉਲਟੀ ਵਗੀ!
The Sea sawe it and fled: Iorden was turned backe.
4 ੪ ਪਰਬਤ ਛੱਤ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਟੱਪਦੇ ਸਨ, ਪਹਾੜੀਆਂ ਲੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ।
The mountaines leaped like rams, and the hils as lambes.
5 ੫ ਹੇ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ, ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਨੱਠਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਤੂੰ, ਯਰਦਨ, ਕਿਉਂ ਉਲਟੀ ਵਗਦੀ ਹੈਂ?
What ailed thee, O Sea, that thou fleddest? O Iorden, why wast thou turned backe?
6 ੬ ਹੇ ਪਹਾੜੋ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਛੱਤ੍ਰਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ, ਹੇ ਪਹਾੜੀਓ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਲੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਟੱਪਦੇ ਹੋ?
Ye mountaines, why leaped ye like rams, and ye hils as lambes?
7 ੭ ਹੇ ਧਰਤੀ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਕੰਬ,
The earth trembled at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Iaakob,
8 ੮ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਚੱਟਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਛੰਭ, ਚਕਮਕ ਦੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਚਸ਼ਮਾ ਬਣਾ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ।
Which turneth the rocke into waterpooles, and the flint into a fountaine of water.
