ਕਹਾਉਤਾਂ 2

1 ੧ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਬਚਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੰਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਕੋਲ ਸੰਭਾਲ ਕੇ ਰੱਖੇਂ,

My son, if you accept my words and hide my commandments within you,

2 ੨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਬੁੱਧ ਵੱਲ ਕੰਨ ਲਾਵੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਨ ਲਾਵੇਂ,

if you incline your ear to wisdom and direct your heart to understanding,

3 ੩ ਹਾਂ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਲਈ ਜਤਨ ਨਾਲ ਪੁਕਾਰੇਂ,

if you truly call out to insight and lift your voice to understanding,

4 ੪ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਕਰੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਪਤ ਧਨ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਕਰੇਂ,

if you seek it like silver and search it out like hidden treasure,

5 ੫ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭੈਅ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ,

then you will discern the fear of the LORD and discover the knowledge of God.

6 ੬ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਬੁੱਧ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਹੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਗਿਆਨ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਓਸੇ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਦੀ ਹੈ।

For the LORD gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

7 ੭ ਸਚਿਆਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਰੱਖ ਛੱਡਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਖਰਿਆਈ ਨਾਲ ਚੱਲਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਉਹ ਢਾਲ਼ ਹੈ,

He stores up sound wisdom for the upright; He is a shield to those who walk with integrity,

8 ੮ ਉਹ ਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਗਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਦੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

to guard the paths of justice and protect the way of His saints.

9 ੯ ਤਦ ਤੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਨਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਫ਼ ਨੂੰ, ਸਗੋਂ ਹਰੇਕ ਭਲੇ ਰਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਝੇਂਗਾ,

Then you will discern righteousness and justice and equity—every good path.

10 ੧੦ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਬੁੱਧ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਵੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਗਿਆਨ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਲੱਗੇਗਾ।

For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will delight your soul.

11 ੧੧ ਮੱਤ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰੇਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕਰੇਗੀ,

Discretion will watch over you, and understanding will guard you,

12 ੧੨ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੁਰਿਆਂ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਖੋਟੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛੁਡਾਉਣ,

to deliver you from the way of evil, from the man who speaks perversity,

13 ੧੩ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਚਿਆਈ ਦਿਆਂ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਰਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਹਨ,

from those who leave the straight paths to walk in the ways of darkness,

14 ੧੪ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਅਨੰਦ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਦੇ ਖੋਟਿਆਂ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਮਨਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ,

from those who enjoy doing evil and rejoice in the twistedness of evil,

15 ੧੫ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਟੇਡੇ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਲਾਂ ਵਿਗੜੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ,

whose paths are crooked and whose ways are devious.

16 ੧੬ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਪਰਾਈ ਔਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਬਚਾਉਣ, ਉਸ ਓਪਰੀ ਔਰਤ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਚਿਕਨੀਆਂ-ਚੋਪੜੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ,

It will rescue you from the forbidden woman, from the stranger with seductive words

17 ੧੭ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੁਆਨੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਥੀ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸਾਰ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੈ,

who abandons the partner of her youth and forgets the covenant of her God.

18 ੧੮ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਘਰ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਢਲਾਣ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਮਰਿਆਂ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਲਹਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।

For her house sinks down to death, and her tracks to the departed spirits.

19 ੧੯ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਜੀਵਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੱਕ ਪਹੁੰਚਦਾ ਹੈ।

None who go to her return or negotiate the paths of life.

20 ੨੦ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਭਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੁਰੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਰਗ ਨੂੰ ਫੜੀ ਰੱਖੇਂਗਾ।

So you will follow in the ways of the good, and keep to the paths of the righteous.

21 ੨੧ ਸਚਿਆਰ ਹੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੱਸਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਖਰੇ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ,

For the upright will inhabit the land, and the blameless will remain in it;

22 ੨੨ ਪਰ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਵੱਢੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਧੋਖੇਬਾਜ਼ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੁੱਟੇ ਜਾਣਗੇ।

but the wicked will be cut off from the land, and the unfaithful will be uprooted.
