ਗਿਣਤੀ 21
1 ੧ ਤਦ ਅਰਾਦ ਦਾ ਕਨਾਨੀ ਰਾਜਾ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਦੱਖਣ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਕਿ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀ ਅਥਾਰੀਮ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤਦ ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਈਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਗੁਲਾਮ ਬਣਾ ਲਿਆ।
And he heard the Canaanite [the] king of Arad [who] dwelt the Negev that it had come Israel [the] way of the Atharim and he engaged in battle against Israel and he took captive - some of it captive[s].
2 ੨ ਤਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਣ ਕਰਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਸਾਡੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇ ਦੇਵੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੱਤਿਆਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ।
And it vowed Israel a vow to Yahweh and it said certainly [if] you will give the people this in hand my and I will totally destroy cities their.
3 ੩ ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਨਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਸੱਤਿਆਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਥਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਹਾਰਮਾਹ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ।
And he listened Yahweh to [the] voice of Israel and he delivered up the Canaanite[s] and it totally destroyed them and cities their and someone called [the] name of the place Hormah.
4 ੪ ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਹੋਰ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਪਰਬਤ ਤੋਂ, ਲਾਲ ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਵੱਲ ਅਦੋਮ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਹਰੋਂ, ਕੂਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਲੰਬੇ ਸਫ਼ਰ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਪਰਜਾ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰੇਸ਼ਾਨ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
And they set out from Hor the mountain [the] direction of [the] sea of reed[s] to go around [the] land of Edom and it became short [the] self of the people on the way.
5 ੫ ਇਸ ਕਾਰਨ ਪਰਜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੋਲੀ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜੰਗਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਿਉਂ ਲੈ ਆਏ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਰ ਜਾਈਏ? ਇੱਥੇ ਨਾ ਤਾਂ ਰੋਟੀ ਹੈ, ਨਾ ਹੀ ਪਾਣੀ ਹੈ। ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਇਸ ਨਿਕੰਮੀ ਰੋਟੀ ਤੋਂ ਅੱਕ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ!
And it spoke the people against God and against Moses why? have you brought up us from Egypt to die in the wilderness for there not [is] food and there not [is] water and self our it loathes the food worthless.
6 ੬ ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਪਰਜਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਜ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲੇ ਸੱਪ ਭੇਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡੱਸਿਆ, ਤਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਲੋਕ ਮਰ ਗਏ।
And he sent Yahweh among the people the snakes the saraphs and they bit the people and it died a people numerous from Israel.
7 ੭ ਫੇਰ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਕੋਲ ਆਣ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਅਸੀਂ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਅਸੀਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੋਲੇ। ਹੁਣ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਸੱਪਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੋੜ ਲਵੇ। ਤਦ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
And it came the people to Moses and they said we have sinned for we have spoken against Yahweh and against you pray to Yahweh so may he remove from on us the snake[s] and he prayed Moses for the people.
8 ੮ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇੱਕ ਜ਼ਹਿਰੀਲਾ ਸੱਪ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਡੰਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਦੇ, ਤਦ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ ਡੱਸਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ, ਉਸ ਸੱਪ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲਵੇਗਾ।
And he said Yahweh to Moses make for yourself a saraph and put it on a standard and it will be every [one who] is bitten and he will see it and he will live.
9 ੯ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦਾ ਸੱਪ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਡੰਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਸੱਪ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਡੱਸਦਾ ਸੀ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਸੱਪ ਵੱਲ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
And he made Moses a snake of bronze and he put it on the standard and it was if it had bitten the snake anyone and he looked to [the] snake of bronze and he lived.
And they set out [the] people of Israel and they encamped in Oboth.
11 ੧੧ ਫੇਰ ਓਬੋਥ ਤੋਂ ਕੂਚ ਕਰਕੇ, ਈਯੇਅਬਾਰੀਮ ਦੀ ਉਸ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਪੂਰਬ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ ਵੱਲ ਹੈ, ਡੇਰੇ ਲਾਏ।
And they set out from Oboth and they encamped at Iye Abarim in the wilderness which [is] on [the] face of Moab from [the] rising of the sun.
From there they set out and they encamped in [the] wadi of Zered.
13 ੧੩ ਫੇਰ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਕੂਚ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਅਰਨੋਨ ਨਦੀ ਦੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਲਾਏ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਰਹੱਦ ਤੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅਰਨੋਨ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੋਆਬ ਅਤੇ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਹੈ।
From there they set out and they encamped from [the] other side of Arnon which [is] in the wilderness which goes out from [the] border of the Amorite[s] that Arnon [is] [the] border of Moab between Moab and between the Amorite[s].
14 ੧੪ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਜੰਗ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ: ਵਾਹੇਬ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਸੂਫ਼ਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਅਰਨੋਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਾਦੀਆਂ।
There-fore it is said in [the] book of [the] wars of Yahweh Waheb in Suphah and the wadis Arnon.
And [the] slope of the wadis which it extends to [the] dwelling of Ar and it leans to [the] border of Moab.
16 ੧੬ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਉਹ ਬਏਰ ਨੂੰ ਗਏ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਖੂਹ ਹੈ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ।
And from there Beer towards that [is] the well which he said Yahweh to Moses gather the people so let me give to them water.
Then it sang Israel the song this spring up O well sing of it.
18 ੧੮ ਉਹ ਖੂਹ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਨੇ ਪੁੱਟਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਤਵੰਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਆੱਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਲਾਠੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਢਿਆ!
A well [which] they dug it [the] leaders [which] they dug it [the] noble [people] of the people with a ruler's staff with staffs their and from [the] wilderness Mattanah.
And from Mattanah Nahaliel and from Nahaliel Bamoth.
20 ੨੦ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਮੋਥ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਘਾਟੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਫੇਰ ਪਿਸਗਾਹ ਦੀ ਟੀਸੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਜਾੜ ਵੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਝੁਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
And from Bamoth the valley which [is] in [the] region of Moab [the] top of Pisgah and it looked down over [the] face of the desolate place.
And it sent Israel messengers to Sihon [the] king of the Amorite[s] saying.
22 ੨੨ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਦੀ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਣ ਦਿਓ। ਅਸੀਂ ਖੇਤ, ਅੰਗੂਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਵੜਾਂਗੇ, ਨਾ ਅਸੀਂ ਖੂਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀਵਾਂਗੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਸ਼ਾਹੀ ਸੜਕ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਚੱਲਾਂਗੇ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪਾਰ ਨਾ ਲੰਘ ਜਾਈਏ।
Let me pass in land your not we will turn aside in a field and in a vineyard not we will drink water of a well on [the] way of the king we will go until that we will pass through territory your.
23 ੨੩ ਪਰ ਸੀਹੋਨ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਹੱਦਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਲੰਘਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਪਰ ਸੀਹੋਨ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹਸ ਨੂੰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਿਆ।
And not he permitted Sihon Israel to pass in territory his and he gathered Sihon all people his and he went out to meet Israel the wilderness towards and he came Jahaz towards and he engaged in battle against Israel.
24 ੨੪ ਤਦ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਰਨੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਯਬੋਕ ਨਦੀ ਤੱਕ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅੰਮੋਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਪੱਕੀ ਸੀ।
And it struck him Israel to [the] mouth of [the] sword and it took possession of land his from Arnon to Jabbok to [the] descendants of Ammon for [was] strong [the] border of [the] descendants of Ammon.
25 ੨੫ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਲੈ ਲਏ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸ ਗਿਆ।
And it took Israel all the cities these and it dwelt Israel in all [the] cities of the Amorite[s] in Heshbon and in all daughters its.
26 ੨੬ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸੀਹੋਨ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸੀ, ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਅਰਨੋਨ ਤੱਕ ਜਿੱਤ ਲਿਆ ਸੀ।
For Heshbon [was] [the] city of Sihon [the] king of the Amorite[s] it and he he had waged war against [the] king of Moab former and he had taken all land his from hand his to Arnon.
There-fore they say those [who] speak proverbs come Heshbon let it be rebuilt and it may be established [the] city of Sihon.
28 ੨੮ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅੱਗ ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲੀ, ਅਤੇ ਸੀਹੋਨ ਦੇ ਨਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਲਾਟ, ਮੋਆਬ ਦੇ ਆਰ ਨਗਰ ਨੂੰ ਭਸਮ ਕੀਤਾ, ਨਾਲੇ ਅਰਨੋਨ ਦੇ ਉਚਿਆਈਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮਾਲਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਤਬਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ।
For fire it went out from Heshbon flame from [the] town of Sihon it consumed Ar of Moab [the] citizens of [the] high places of Arnon.
29 ੨੯ ਹੇ ਮੋਆਬ, ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਾਏ! ਹੇ ਕਮੋਸ਼ ਦੇ ਪੁਜਾਰੀਓ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਹੋਏ! ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਭਗੌੜਿਆਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਛੱਡਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾ ਸੀਹੋਨ ਦੀ ਦਾਸੀਆਂ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ!
Woe! to you O Moab you have perished O people of Chemosh he has made sons his fugitives and daughters his in captivity of [the] king of [the] Amorite[s] Sihon.
30 ੩੦ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿੱਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤੀ, ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ, ਦੀਬੋਨ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਹੋਇਆ, ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਨੋਫ਼ਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਦਬਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਤੱਕ ਤਬਾਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।
And we shot at them it has perished Heshbon to Dibon and we have devastated to Nophah which [is] to Medeba.
And it dwelt Israel in [the] land of the Amorite[s].
32 ੩੨ ਫੇਰ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਯਾਜ਼ੇਰ ਦਾ ਭੇਤ ਜਾਣਨ ਲਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਘੱਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
And he sent Moses to spy out Jazer and they captured daughters its (and it dispossessed *Q(K)*) the Amorite[s] who [was] there.
33 ੩੩ ਫੇਰ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਉਤਾਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਓਗ ਬਾਸ਼ਾਨ ਦਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਾਹਮਣਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਬਾਹਰ ਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਅਦਰਈ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਯੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ।
And they turned and they went up [the] direction of Bashan and he went out Og [the] king of Bashan to meet them he and all people his for battle Edrei.
34 ੩੪ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਡਰ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ। ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਉਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਰੇਂਗਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤੂੰ ਅਮੋਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਸੀਹੋਨ ਨਾਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਜੋ ਹਸ਼ਬੋਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਸਦਾ ਸੀ।
And he said Yahweh to Moses may not you fear him for in hand your I have given him and all people his and land his and you will do to him just as you did to Sihon [the] king of the Amorite[s] who [was] dwelling in Heshbon.
35 ੩੫ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੱਖ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੀ ਕਬਜ਼ਾ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ।
And they struck down him and sons his and all people his until not he had left to him a survivor and they took possession of land his.
