ਲੂਕਾ 4
THEN Jesus full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the spirit into the wilderness,
2 ੨ ਚਾਲ੍ਹੀ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਤਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵਰਤ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਦਿਨ ਪੂਰੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਭੁੱਖ ਲੱਗੀ।
being tempted forty days by the devil; and did eat nothing during those days: and when they were ended, afterwards he was hungry.
And the devil said to him, If thou art the Son of God, command this stone that it become a loaf.
And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.”
5 ੫ ਤਾਂ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਹਾੜ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਸਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹੀਆਂ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਖਾ ਕੇ,
And the devil taking him up into an exceeding high mountain, displayed before him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time:
6 ੬ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ।
and the devil said unto him, I will give thee all this authority, and the glory of these; for to me it is delivered, and to whomsoever I will, I give it.
If therefore thou wilt worship before me, all shall be thine.
8 ੮ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਬੰਦਗੀ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਇਕੱਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਹੀ ਕਰ।
And Jesus answering him, said, Get thee behind me, Satan, for it is written, “Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and to him alone shalt thou pay divine honour.”
9 ੯ ਤਦ ਸ਼ੈਤਾਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਹੈਕਲ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਿਖਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈਂ, ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਐਥੋਂ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਡੇਗ ਦੇ”।
And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a wing of the temple, and said to him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thy self down from hence:
for it is written, “He shall give his angels a charge over thee, to guard thee safely;
and that in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.”
And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, “Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.”
And when the devil had closed all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.
And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and a report went out into all the region round about concerning him.
And he taught in their synagogues, being universally admired.
16 ੧੬ ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਨਾਸਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਇਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਸਦਾ ਪਾਲਣ ਪੋਸ਼ਣ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਨੇਮ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਸਬਤ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੜ੍ਹਨ ਲਈ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ।
And he came to Nazareth, where he was brought up; and he went, according to his usual custom, into the synagogue on the sabbath-day, and rose up to read.
17 ੧੭ ਅਤੇ ਯਸਾਯਾਹ ਨਬੀ ਦੀ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਾਠ ਤੋਂ ਪੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇਹ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ -
And there was given to him the book of the prophet Isaiah: and unrolling the volume, he found the passage where it is written,
18 ੧੮ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਮੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਸੁਣਾਵਾਂ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਟਕਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਣ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਦੱਬੇ-ਕੁਚਲੇ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਡਾਵਾਂ।
“The spirit of the Lord is upon me, for the work whereunto he hath anointed me; he hath sent me to preach glad tidings to the poor; to heal the contrite in heart; to proclaim liberty to the captives; and restore sight to the blind; to send forth the bruised free from bonds;
to publish the acceptable year of the Lord.”
20 ੨੦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਨੂੰ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਬੈਠ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਲੱਗੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਸਨ।
And rolling up the volume, he gave it to the attendant officer, and sat down. And the eyes of all who were in the synagogue were attentively fixed on him.
And he began to say to them, To day this scripture is fulfilled in your ears.
22 ੨੨ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੀਆਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਕੀ ਇਹ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਹੀਂ?
And all concurred in their testimony to him, and marvelled at the gracious words which proceeded from his mouth. And they said, Is not this the son of Joseph?
23 ੨੩ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਇਹ ਕਹਾਉਤ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਹੋਗੇ ਕਿ ਹੇ ਵੈਦ, ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰ। ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਅਸੀਂ ਕਫ਼ਰਨਾਹੂਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਹੈ ਐਥੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਕਰ।
And he said unto them, Ye will probably say to me this parable, Physician, heal thyself! the works which we have heard to have been performed by thee at Capernaum, do the like here in thy own country.
But he said, Verily, I say unto you, that no prophet is acceptable in his own country.
25 ੨੫ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੱਚ ਆਖਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਏਲੀਯਾਹ ਦੇ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਦੋਂ ਸਾਢੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਮੀਂਹ ਨਾ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਡਾ ਅਕਾਲ ਪਿਆ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਧਵਾਵਾਂ ਸਨ।
Now I tell you of a certainty, that there were many widows in the days of Elias, in Israel, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, so that a grievous famine was upon all the land.
And unto none of them was Elias sent, but unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, to a widow woman.
27 ੨੭ ਅਤੇ ਅਲੀਸ਼ਾ ਨਬੀ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੋੜ੍ਹੀ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਸੀਰੀਯਾ ਦਾ, ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਨਾਮਾਨ ਹੀ ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।
And many lepers were in Israel in the days of the prophet Elisha, and no one of them was cleansed, but Naaman the Syrian.
And they were all filled with rage in the synagogue, when they heard these observations:
29 ੨੯ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਕੱਢਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਪਹਾੜ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ, ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਬਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰ ਪਰਨੇ ਸੁੱਟ ਦੇਣ।
and rising up, dragged him out of the city, and led him to the brow of the hill, on which their city was built, in order to cast him down headlong:
but he passing through the midst of them, went away.
And he came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the sabbath.
And they were struck with astonishment at his teaching; for his discourse was with authority.
33 ੩੩ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਆਤਮਾ ਚਿੰਬੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਿਆ,
And there was in the synagogue a man, who had a spirit of an unclean devil, and he roared out with a great cry,
34 ੩੪ ਹੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਨਾਸਰੀ! ਤੇਰਾ ਸਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕੰਮ? ਕੀ ਤੂੰ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਨਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਆਇਆ ਹੈਂ? ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਕੌਣ ਹੈਂ। ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੈਂ।
saying, Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, Jesus the Nazarean? art thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art; the Holy One of God.
35 ੩੫ ਤਦ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੱੜਕ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਚੁੱਪ ਕਰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾ! ਤਦ ਭੂਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਪਟਕ ਕੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਟ ਲਾਏ ਉਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਗਿਆ।
And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Stop thy mouth, and come out of him. And the devil throwing him down into the midst, came out of him, doing him no injury.
36 ੩੬ ਉਹ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਣ ਲੱਗੇ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਕੀ ਗੱਲ ਹੈ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਨਾਲ ਅਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਆਤਮਾਵਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਕਮ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
And amazement seized on all present, and they spake one to another, saying, What a word is this? for with authority and power he commandeth the unclean spirits, and they come out.
And the fame of him went forth into all the adjacent region.
38 ੩੮ ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਗਿਆ। ਸ਼ਮਊਨ ਦੀ ਸੱਸ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਾ ਬੁਖ਼ਾਰ ਚੜ੍ਹਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
Then rising up out of the synagogue, he came into the house of Simon: and Simon’s mother-in-law was seized with a violent fever, and they besought him on her behalf.
And standing over her, he charged the fever to depart; and it left her: and immediately she arose, and waited upon them.
40 ੪੦ ਫਿਰ ਸ਼ਾਮ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਲੋਕ ਬਿਮਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਏ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ।
So when the sun was set, all who had any indisposed with various diseases, brought them to him; and laying his hands severally on each of them, he cured them.
41 ੪੧ ਅਤੇ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਭੂਤਾਂ ਚੀਕਾਂ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਦੇ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਗਈਆਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੈਂ! ਪਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਝਿੜਕ ਕੇ ਬੋਲਣ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਪਛਾਣਦੇ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਮਸੀਹ ਹੈ।
And devils also went out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art the Messiah the Son of God. And rebuking them, he suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was the Messiah.
42 ੪੨ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਵੇਰ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਉਹ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਉਜਾੜ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭੀੜਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭਦੀਆਂ-ਲੱਭਦੀਆਂ ਉਸ ਕੋਲ ਆਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰੁਕਣ ਲਈ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ।
And as the day was coming on, he went forth and departed into a desert place: and the multitude sought him out, and came to him, and would have detained him that he should not leave them.
43 ੪੩ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਹੋਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ਖਬਰੀ ਦਾ ਪਰਚਾਰ ਕਰਾਂ। ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਹੀ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।
But he said unto them, I must preach the glad tidings of the kingdom of heaven in other cities also: for on this service am I sent.
And he continued preaching in the synagogues of Galilee.
