ਨਿਆਂਈਆਂ 16
And Samson went from there to Gaza, and saw a prostitute there, and went in to her.
2 ੨ ਜਦ ਅੱਜ਼ਾਹ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਮਿਲੀ ਕਿ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਇੱਥੇ ਆਇਆ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਘੇਰ ਲਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਘਾਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੈਠੇ ਰਹੇ। ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀ ਰਾਤ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਚੁੱਪ-ਚਾਪ ਰਹੇ ਕਿ ਸਵੇਰ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹੀ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿਆਂਗੇ।
And it was reported to the Gazites, saying, "Samson is here." They surrounded him, and lay in wait for him all night at the gate of the city, and were quiet all night, saying, "Wait until morning light, then we will kill him."
3 ੩ ਪਰ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਤੱਕ ਪਿਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਧੀ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕ ਦੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਪੱਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਬਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਪੁੱਟ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੋਢਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਪਰਬਤ ਦੀ ਚੋਟੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਜੋ ਹਬਰੋਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਹੈ!
Now Samson rested until midnight, but got up at midnight and took hold of the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and pulled them up, bar and all, and put them on his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of the mountain that is overlooking Hebron, and set them down there.
4 ੪ ਕੁਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸੋਰੇਕ ਦੀ ਘਾਟੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਇੱਕ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਦਲੀਲਾਹ ਸੀ।
It came to pass afterward, that he fell in love with a woman in the Valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.
5 ੫ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੁਸਲਾ ਕੇ ਪਤਾ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਭੇਤ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰੀਏ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਕਰ ਲਈਏ, ਤਾਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਗਿਆਰਾਂ-ਗਿਆਰਾਂ ਸੌ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਕੇ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ।”
The lords of the Philistines came up to her, and said to her, "Entice him, and see in which his great strength lies, and by what means we may prevail against him, that we may bind him to afflict him; and we will each give you eleven hundred pieces of silver."
6 ੬ ਤਦ ਦਲੀਲਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਦੱਸ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਇਸ ਵੱਡੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਭੇਤ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਕਿ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਧੀਨ ਕਰ ਲਵੇ?”
Delilah said to Samson, "Please tell me where your great strength lies, and how you can be bound and subdued."
7 ੭ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸੱਤ ਹਰੀਆਂ ਛੰਮਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਜੋ ਸੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ, ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਬਲ ਘੱਟ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਧਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ।”
Samson said to her, "If they bind me with seven green cords that were never dried, then shall I become weak, and be as another man."
8 ੮ ਤਦ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਸੱਤ ਹਰੀਆਂ ਛੰਮਕਾਂ ਜੋ ਅਜੇ ਸੁੱਕੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਨ, ਉਸ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ।
Then the lords of the Philistines brought up to her seven green cords which had not been dried, and she bound him with them.
9 ੯ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਕੁਝ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੋਠੜੀ ਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਘਾਤ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ। ਤਦ ਦਲੀਲਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ, ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਏ ਹਨ!” ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਛੰਮਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੋੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਸਣ ਦੀ ਲੱਟ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਸੜ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਪਤਾ ਨਾ ਲੱਗਾ।
Now she had an ambush waiting in the inner room. She said to him, "The Philistines are on you, Samson." He broke the cords, as a string of tow is broken when it touches the fire. So his strength was not known.
10 ੧੦ ਤਦ ਦਲੀਲਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਵੇਖ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਝੂਠ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੁਣ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈਂ।”
Delilah said to Samson, "Look, you have mocked me, and told me lies: now please tell me with which you might be bound."
11 ੧੧ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਰੱਸੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਜੋ ਕਦੀ ਵਰਤੀਆਂ ਨਾ ਗਈਆਂ ਹੋਣ, ਘੁੱਟ ਕੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਧਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ।”
He said to her, "If they only bind me with new ropes with which no work has been done, then shall I become weak, and be as another man."
12 ੧੨ ਤਦ ਦਲੀਲਾਹ ਨਵੀਆਂ ਰੱਸੀਆਂ ਲਿਆਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ, ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਏ!” ਅਤੇ ਘਾਤ ਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਉਸ ਕੋਠੜੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੁਕੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ। ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਰੱਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਧਾਗੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਤੋੜ ਸੁੱਟਿਆ।
So Delilah took new ropes, and bound him therewith, and said to him, "The Philistines are on you, Samson." The ambush was waiting in the inner room. He broke them off his arms like a thread.
13 ੧੩ ਫਿਰ ਦਲੀਲਾਹ ਨੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਵੀ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਹੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਝੂਠ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਕਿ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ?” ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੱਤੇ ਲਟਾਂ ਤਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਬੁਣ ਦੇਵੇਂ ਤਾਂ ਮੈਂ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ।”
Delilah said to Samson, "Until now, you have mocked me and told me lies. Tell me how you might be bound." He said to her, "If you weave the seven braids on my head with the fabric and fasten them with the pin, then I will be weak as another man."
14 ੧੪ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੱਲੀ ਨਾਲ ਕੱਸ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ, ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਏ ਹਨ!” ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨੀਂਦ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਗ ਕੇ ਕਿੱਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਤਾਣੇ ਸਮੇਤ ਪੁੱਟ ਲਿਆ।
So while he slept, Delilah took the seven braids on his head, and wove them with the fabric, and she fastened it with the pin, and said to him, "The Philistines are upon you, Samson." And he awoke from his sleep, and pulled away the pin of the loom and the fabric.
15 ੧੫ ਤਦ ਦਲੀਲਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਤੇਰਾ ਮਨ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਾ, ਫਿਰ ਤੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਕਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈਂ? ਤੂੰ ਤਿੰਨੇ ਵਾਰੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਲ ਮਖ਼ੌਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਭੇਤ ਹੈ।”
She said to him, "How can you say, 'I love you,' when your heart is not with me? You have mocked me these three times, and have not told me where your great strength lies."
16 ੧੬ ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦਿਨੋਂ-ਦਿਨ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਤੰਗ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡਾ ਹਠ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਿਆ, ਇੱਥੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮੌਤ ਮੰਗਦੇ ਸਨ।
It happened, when she pressed him daily with her words, and urged him, that his soul was troubled to death.
17 ੧੭ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਭੇਤ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸਤਰਾ ਕਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਫਿਰਿਆ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਢਿੱਡ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਨਜ਼ੀਰ ਹਾਂ। ਜੇਕਰ ਕਦੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਸਿਰ ਮੁਨਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਘੱਟ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਨਿਰਬਲ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਧਾਰਨ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਰਗਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ।”
He told her all his heart, and said to her, "No razor has ever come on my head; for I have been a Nazirite to God from my mother's womb. If I am shaved, then my strength will go from me, and I will become weak, and be like any other man."
18 ੧੮ ਜਦ ਦਲੀਲਾਹ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਭੇਤ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੰਦੇਸ਼ਾ ਭੇਜਿਆ, “ਇਸ ਵਾਰੀ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਓ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ, ਉਹ ਸਭ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।” ਤਦ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਧਨ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ।
When Delilah saw that he had told her all his heart, she sent and called for the lords of the Philistines, saying, "Come up this once, for he has told me all his heart." Then the lords of the Philistines went up to her, and brought the money in their hands.
19 ੧੯ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੋਡਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੁਲਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੱਤੇ ਲਟਾਂ ਮੁਨਾ ਸੁੱਟੀਆਂ। ਫਿਰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੇੜਨ ਲੱਗੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਉਸ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ।
She made him sleep on her knees; and she called for a man, and shaved off the seven locks of his head; and he began to weaken, and his strength went from him.
20 ੨੦ ਤਾਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ, ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹ ਆਏ ਹਨ!” ਉਹ ਨੀਂਦ ਤੋਂ ਜਾਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸੋਚਣ ਲੱਗਾ, “ਮੈਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਿੱਕਲ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਹਿਲਾ ਕੇ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ।” ਪਰ ਉਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਅਲੱਗ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
She said, "The Philistines are upon you, Samson." He awoke out of his sleep, and said, "I will go out as at other times, and shake myself free." But he didn't know that the LORD had departed from him.
21 ੨੧ ਤਦ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਫੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਜ਼ਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੇੜੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ੍ਹ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੈਦਖ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਕੀ ਪੀਸਦਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ।
The Philistines seized him, and gouged out his eyes. And they brought him down to Gaza, and bound him with bronze shackles, and he ground at the mill in the prison.
However the hair of his head began to grow again after he was shaved.
23 ੨੩ ਤਦ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਦਾਗੋਨ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਭੇਟਾਂ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਉਣ ਅਤੇ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿ ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਡੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
The lords of the Philistines gathered them together to offer a great sacrifice to their god Dagon, and to celebrate; for they said, "Our god has delivered Samson our enemy into our hand."
24 ੨੪ ਜਦ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਕਹਿ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਦੀ ਉਸਤਤ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗੇ, “ਸਾਡੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਨੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਾਡਾ ਦੇਸ਼ ਉਜਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਵੀ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਸਾਡੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।”
When the people saw him, they praised their god; for they said, "Our god has delivered our enemy and the destroyer of our country, who has slain many of us, into our hand."
25 ੨੫ ਤਦ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਅਨੰਦ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਬੁਲਾਓ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਕਰੇ,” ਇਸ ਲਈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਕੈਦਖ਼ਾਨੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬੁਲਵਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਕਰਨ ਲੱਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੋ ਥੰਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
And it happened, when their hearts were merry, that they said, "Call for Samson, that he may entertain us." So they called for Samson out of the prison; and he performed before them. And they were striking him. And they set him between the pillars;
26 ੨੬ ਤਦ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਮੁੰਡੇ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੈਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਥੰਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਇਹ ਘਰ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, ਹੱਥ ਪਾ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਲਵਾਂ।”
and Samson said to the boy who held him by the hand, "Allow me to feel the pillars on which the house rests, that I may lean on them." And the boy did so.
27 ੨੭ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਪੁਰਸ਼ਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰਦਾਰ ਵੀ ਉੱਥੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਲੱਗਭੱਗ ਤਿੰਨ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਇਸਤਰੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਛੱਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਤਮਾਸ਼ਾ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਵੇਖ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
Now the house was full of men and women; and all the lords of the Philistines were there. And there were on the roof about three thousand men and women watching while Samson performed.
28 ੨੮ ਤਦ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਹੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਦੁਹਾਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰ, ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇੱਕ ਵਾਰੀ ਹੋਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੈਂ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕੋ ਵਾਰੀ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਦੋਵੇਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਦਾ ਬਦਲਾ ਲੈ ਲਵਾਂ!”
Samson called to the LORD, and said, "Lord GOD, please remember me, and please strengthen me only this once, God, that I may be at once avenged of the Philistines for my two eyes."
29 ੨੯ ਤਦ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰਲੇ ਦੋਹਾਂ ਥੰਮ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਟਿਕਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ, ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਉੱਤੇ ਸੱਜੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਖੱਬੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਲਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Samson took hold of the two middle pillars on which the house rested, and leaned on them, the one with his right hand, and the other with his left.
30 ੩੦ ਸਮਸੂਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ, “ਮੇਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਵੀ ਫ਼ਲਿਸਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਜਾਣ।” ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਲਾ ਕੇ ਝੁਕਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਘਰ ਸਾਰੇ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ, ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਰਨ ਦੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਜੀ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਸੀ।
Samson said, "Let me die with the Philistines." He bowed himself with all his might; and the house fell on the lords, and on all the people who were in it. So the dead that he killed at his death were more than those who he killed in his life.
31 ੩੧ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਭਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕ ਆਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਚੁੱਕ ਕੇ ਲੈ ਗਏ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਅਸ਼ਤਾਓਲ ਦੇ ਵਿਚਕਾਰ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਮਾਨੋਆਹ ਦੀ ਕਬਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਬਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਵੀਹ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦਾ ਨਿਆਂ ਕੀਤਾ।
Then his brothers and all the house of his father came down, and took him, and brought him up, and buried him between Zorah and Eshtaol in the burial site of Manoah his father. He judged Israel twenty years.
