ਅੱਯੂਬ 8

1 ੧ ਤਦ ਬਿਲਦਦ ਸ਼ੂਹੀ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ,

Then answered Bildad the Shuchite, and said,

2 ੨ “ਤੂੰ ਕਦੋਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਦਾ ਰਹੇਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਤੂਫ਼ਾਨੀ ਹਵਾ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਹੋਣਗੀਆਂ?

How long wilt thou speak these things? and [let] like a mighty wind be the words of thy mouth?

3 ੩ ਕੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਗਾੜਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਗਾੜਦਾ ਹੈ?

Should God pervert justice? or should the Almighty pervert righteousness?

4 ੪ ਜੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਦੇ ਵੱਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ।

If thy children have sinned against him, then did he send them off through the means of their transgression.

5 ੫ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਡੇ ਯਤਨ ਨਾਲ ਭਾਲਦਾ, ਅਤੇ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਅੱਗੇ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਦਾ,

If thou wilt earnestly seek for God, and make thy supplication to the Almighty;

6 ੬ ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਨੇਕ ਹੁੰਦਾ, ਤਦ ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਜਾਗ ਉੱਠਦਾ, ਤੇਰੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਡੇਰੇ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਈ ਰੱਖਦਾ।

If thou become pure and upright: surely then will he watch over thee, and restore thy righteous habitation.

7 ੭ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਪਰ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਵਧਾਉਂਦਾ।”

And thy beginning will have been small; because thy latter end will grow up greatly.

8 ੮ “ਤੂੰ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛ, ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਖੋਜ਼ਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇ,

For ask, I pray thee, of an earlier generation, and prepare thyself to [stand by] the research of their fathers; —

9 ੯ ਆਪਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਕੱਲ ਦੇ ਹਾਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕੁਝ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਦਿਨ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਰਛਾਵੇਂ ਵਰਗੇ ਹੀ ਹਨ।

For we are but of yesterday, and know nothing, because a [mere] shadow are our days upon earth; —

10 ੧੦ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਿਖਾਉਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਦੱਸਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਿਲੋਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਨਾ ਲਿਆਉਣਗੇ?

Behold, these will truly teach thee, they will speak unto thee, and out of their very heart will they bring forth words:

11 ੧੧ ਕੀ, ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚਿੱਕੜ ਤੋਂ ਕਾਨਾ ਉੱਗੇਗਾ? ਕੀ, ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਾਣੀ ਤੋਂ ਸਰਕੰਡਾ ਵਧੇਗਾ?

Can the bulrush shoot upward without mire? can the meadow-grass grow up without water?

12 ੧੨ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਹਰਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਅਤੇ ਵੱਢਿਆ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਉਹ ਦੂਜੇ ਘਾਹ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਛੇਤੀ ਸੁੱਕ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

It is yet in its greenness, not yet cut down, when it withereth before any other grass.

13 ੧੩ ਇਸੇ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਭੁੱਲਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਅਧਰਮੀ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ।

So are the paths of all that forget God; and the hope of the hypocrite will perish:

14 ੧੪ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਆਸ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਢ ਟੁੱਟ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਉਹ ਮੱਕੜੀ ਦਾ ਜਾਲਾ ਠਹਿਰਦਾ ਹੈ।

[It is he] whose trust will be cut off, and but a spider's web is that in which he confideth.

15 ੧੫ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਭਰੋਸਾ ਰੱਖੇ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਤਕੜਾਈ ਨਾਲ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਲਵੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਕਾਇਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹੇਗਾ।

He leaneth against his house, but it shall not stand: he layeth fast hold on it, but it shall not remain erect.

16 ੧੬ ਉਹ ਧੁੱਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰਾ-ਭਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਡਾਲੀਆਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਗ਼ ਉੱਤੇ ਫੈਲ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

He is in full vigor before the sun, and over his garden his shoots go forth.

17 ੧੭ ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਜੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੱਥਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਢੇਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਪਟੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ।

His roots are twisted about a stoneheap, he selecteth [for himself] a place of stones.

18 ੧੮ ਜੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਥਾਨ ਤੋਂ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

But when men destroy him from his place, then will it deny him, saying, I have never seen thee.

19 ੧੯ ਵੇਖ, ਉਸ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਰਾਤ ਭਰ ਲਈ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ! ਫਿਰ ਦੂਜੇ ਉਸੇ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਨਿੱਕਲਣਗੇ।”

Behold, this is the joy of his way, and out of the [same] dust others will grow up.

20 ੨੦ “ਵੇਖ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਖਰੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਤਿਆਗੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਬੁਰਿਆਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਨੂੰ ਥੰਮੇਗਾ।

Behold, God will not reject a perfect man, and will not hold fast by their hand the evil-doers:

21 ੨੧ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਸੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੈਕਾਰਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਭਰੇਗਾ।

Till he fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with joyful shouting.

22 ੨੨ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀ ਸ਼ਰਮ ਦਾ ਲਿਬਾਸ ਪਹਿਨਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਟਾਂ ਦਾ ਤੰਬੂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ!”

They that hate thee shall be clothed with shame; and the tent of the wicked shall be no more.
