< ਅੱਯੂਬ 17 >

1 ੧ “ਮੇਰਾ ਆਤਮਾ ਟੁੱਟ ਗਿਆ, ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਮੁੱਕ ਗਏ, ਕਬਰ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰ ਹੈ।
My spirit is consumed, my days are extinct, the grave is ready for me.
2 ੨ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਮੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਠੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਲੜਾਈ ਝਗੜੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਟਿਕੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
Surely there are mockers with me, and mine eye abideth in their provocation.
3 ੩ “ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤ ਦੇ, ਤੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜ਼ਮਾਨਤੀ ਹੋ, ਕੌਣ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਧਰੇ?
Give now a pledge, be surety for me with Thyself; who else is there that will strike hands with me?
4 ੪ ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਮਝ ਤੋਂ ਓਹਲੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਤੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਬਲ ਨਾ ਹੋਣ ਦੇਵੇਂਗਾ।
For Thou hast hid their heart from understanding; therefore shalt Thou not exalt them.
5 ੫ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਨੂੰ ਲੁੱਟ ਦੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਲਈ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਬਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬੱਚਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ।
He that denounceth his friends for the sake of flattery, even the eyes of his children shall fail.
6 ੬ “ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਲਈ ਮਿਹਣਾ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਹਾਂ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਲੋਕ ਥੁੱਕਦੇ ਹਨ।
He hath made me also a byword of the people; and I am become one in whose face they spit.
7 ੭ ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਸੋਗ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਧੁੰਦਲੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਅੰਗ ਪਰਛਾਵੇਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਹਨ।
Mine eye also is dimmed by reason of vexation, and all my members are as a shadow.
8 ੮ ਨੇਕ ਲੋਕ ਇਹ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਬੇਦੋਸ਼ੇ ਕੁਧਰਮੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਭੜਕ ਉੱਠਦੇ ਹਨ।
Upright men are astonished at this, and the innocent stirreth up himself against the godless.
9 ੯ ਪਰ ਧਰਮੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਰਾਹ ਤੇ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਫ਼ ਹੱਥ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਤਕੜਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
Yet the righteous holdeth on his way, and he that hath clean hands waxeth stronger and stronger.
10 ੧੦ “ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੀ ਯਤਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਆਓ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਬੁੱਧੀਮਾਨ ਨਾ ਲੱਭੇਗਾ।
But as for you all, do ye return, and come now; and I shall not find a wise man among you.
11 ੧੧ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਉਣ ਦੇ ਦਿਨ ਤਾਂ ਬੀਤ ਗਏ, ਮੇਰੀਆਂ ਯੋਜਨਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੀਆਂ ਲੋਚਾਂ ਮਿਟ ਗਈਆਂ।
My days are past, my purposes are broken off, even the thoughts of my heart.
12 ੧੨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਿੱਤਰ ਰਾਤ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਨ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ ਕਿ ਚਾਨਣ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਹੀ ਹੈ।
They change the night into day; the light is short because of darkness.
13 ੧੩ ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਸ ਰੱਖਾਂ ਕਿ ਅਧੋਲੋਕ ਮੇਰਾ ਘਰ ਹੈਂ, ਜੇਕਰ ਮੈਂ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਿਸਤਰਾ ਵਿਛਾਵਾਂ, (Sheol h7585)
If I look for the nether-world as my house; if I have spread my couch in the darkness; (Sheol h7585)
14 ੧੪ ਜੇ ਮੈਂ ਸੜਿਆਂਧ ਨੂੰ ਪੁਕਾਰਾਂ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੈਂ, ਅਤੇ ਕੀੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੀ ਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਭੈਣ ਹੈਂ,
If I have said to corruption: 'Thou art my father', to the worm: 'Thou art my mother, and my sister';
15 ੧੫ ਤਦ ਮੇਰੀ ਆਸ ਫੇਰ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਹੈ? ਕੌਣ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਆਸ ਵੇਖੇਗਾ?
Where then is my hope? And as for my hope, who shall see it?
16 ੧੬ ਉਹ ਅਧੋਲੋਕ ਦੇ ਫਾਟਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਤਰ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਜਦ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਰਾਮ ਪਾਵਾਂਗੇ।” (Sheol h7585)
They shall go down to the bars of the nether-world, when we are at rest together in the dust. (Sheol h7585)
