ਯਸਾਯਾਹ 3
1 ੧ ਹੁਣ ਵੇਖੋ! ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਸਰਾ ਤੇ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ, ਅਰਥਾਤ ਰੋਟੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ ਤੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਸਹਾਰਾ,
For, behold, the Lord, the Eternal of hosts, doth remove from Jerusalem and from Judah stay and staff, every stay of bread, and every stay of water.
The hero, and the man of war, the judge, and the prophet, and the prudent, and the ancient,
The captain of fifty, and the honorable man, and the counsellor, and the skilful artificer, and the eloquent orator.
And I will set up boys as their princes, and children shall rule over them.
5 ੫ ਲੋਕ ਇੱਕ ਦੂਜੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਹਰੇਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਗੁਆਂਢੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਜ਼ੁਲਮ ਕਰੇਗਾ, ਜੁਆਨ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗ ਦੀ, ਅਤੇ ਨੀਚ ਪਤਵੰਤੇ ਦੀ ਬੇਇੱਜ਼ਤੀ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
And so shall the people press man against man, and one against the other: the boy shall demean himself proudly against the ancient, and the base against the honorable.
6 ੬ ਕੋਈ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾ ਨੂੰ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਆਖੇਗਾ, - ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਚੋਗਾ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਸਾਡਾ ਆਗੂ ਹੋ, ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਉੱਜੜਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਢੇਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਦੇ ਹੇਠ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
When a man will seize hold on his brother in the house of his father, [saying, ] Thou hast a garment, thou shalt be our ruler, and let this ruin be under thy hand:
7 ੭ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਉਹ ਉੱਚੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਆਖੇਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਪੱਟੀ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਰੋਟੀ ਹੈ ਨਾ ਚੋਗਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦਾ ਆਗੂ ਨਾ ਠਹਿਰਾਓ!
He will swear on that day, saying, I will not be a chief; and in my house is neither bread nor clothing; you shall not appoint me a ruler of the people.
8 ੮ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਤਾਂ ਠੇਡਾ ਖਾ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਹੈ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੋਲੀ ਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਹਨ, ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਤੇਜਵਾਨ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।
For Jerusalem is sunk to decay, and Judah is fallen; because their tongue and their doings are against the Lord, to incense the eyes of his glory.
9 ੯ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਿਹਰੇ ਦਾ ਰੂਪ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸਦੂਮ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਪਰਗਟ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਨਹੀਂ, - ਹਾਏ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਜਾਨ ਉੱਤੇ! ਉਹ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਲੈ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ।
The boldness of their face testifieth against them; and like Sodom they tell openly their sin, they conceal it not. Woe unto their soul! for they have prepared evil unto themselves.
Say ye to the righteous, that he hath done well; for the fruit of their doings shall they eat.
Woe unto the wicked who doeth evil; for the recompense of his hands shall be bestowed on him.
12 ੧੨ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ! ਬੱਚੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਨ੍ਹੇਰ ਕਰਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਹਕੂਮਤ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ! ਤੇਰੇ ਆਗੂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਭਟਕਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਸਿੱਧੇ ਮਾਰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਟਾ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
My people! their oppressors are children, and women rule over them. O my people! thy leaders cause thee to err, and the direction of thy paths they corrupt.
The Lord is stepped forth to plead, and standeth up to judge the people.
14 ੧੪ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਗੂਆਂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਨਿਆਂ ਲਈ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਅੰਗੂਰੀ ਬਾਗ਼ ਨੂੰ ਚੱਟ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਹੈ, ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਦੀ ਲੁੱਟ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੀ ਘਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ।
The Lord will enter into judgment with the ancients of his people, and their princes; but ye—ye have eaten up the vineyard; the plunder of the poor is in your houses.
15 ੧੫ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਵਾਕ ਹੈ, ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਕੀ ਮਤਲਬ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋ, ਅਤੇ ਗਰੀਬਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰਗੜਦੇ ਹੋ?
What mean ye that ye crush my people, and grind down the faces of the poor? saith the Lord the Eternal of hosts.
16 ੧੬ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੀਆਂ ਹੰਕਾਰਨਾਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਗਰਦਨ ਅਕੜਾ ਕੇ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਮਟਕਾ ਕੇ ਤੁਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਠੁਮਕ-ਠੁਮਕ ਚਾਲ ਚੱਲਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਪੈਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਘੁੰਗਰੂ ਛਣਕਾਉਂਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ,
And the Lord said, Forasmuch as the daughters of Zion are proud, and walk with stretched forth necks and casting about their eyes, walking and mincing as they go, and making a tinkling with their feet:
Therefore will the Lord smite with leprosy the crown of the head of the daughters of Zion, and the Lord will lay open their nakedness.
On that day will the Lord take away the beauty of their tinkling shoe-buckles, and the hair-nets, and the crescent-shaped ornaments,
The drops, and the bracelets, and the mufflers,
The bonnets, and the foot-chains, and the head-bands, and the tablets, and the earrings,
The finger-rings, and nose-jewels,
The changeable suits of apparel, and the mantles, and the shawls, and the pockets.
The mirrors, and the chemisettes, and the turbans, and the long vails.
24 ੨੪ ਅਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਸੜਿਆਂਧ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਪਟਕੇ ਦੀ ਥਾਂ ਰੱਸੀ, ਮੀਢੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਗੰਜ, ਚੋਲੀ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਟਾਟ ਦੀ ਪੇਟੀ, ਸੁਹੱਪਣ ਦੇ ਥਾਂ ਦਾਗ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
And it shall come to pass, that instead of sweet smell there shall be corruption; and instead of a girdle a rope; and instead of curled hair baldness; and instead of a wide garment a girding of sackcloth, a mark of burning instead of beauty.
Thy men shall fall by the sword, and thy mighty ones in the war.
And then shall her gates lament and mourn; and stript of all shall she sit upon the ground.
