ਯਸਾਯਾਹ 29
1 ੧ ਹਾਏ ਅਰੀਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ, ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੇਰਨੀ ਉੱਤੇ! ਉਸ ਨਗਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਡੇਰਾ ਲਾਇਆ! ਸਾਲ ਤੇ ਸਾਲ ਜੋੜੋ, ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਦੇ ਪਰਬ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਿਰ ਮਨਾਓ।
Woe to Ariel, to Ariel the city against which David fought: year has been added to year, the solemnities have unfolded.
2 ੨ ਮੈਂ ਅਰੀਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਤੰਗ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਤਾਂ ਸੋਗ ਤੇ ਸਿਆਪਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੇਰਨੀ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
And I will surround Ariel with siege works, and it will be in sorrow and mourning, and it will be like Ariel to me.
3 ੩ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਛਾਉਣੀ ਲਵਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਮੋਰਚਾ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਘੇਰਾ ਪਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਦਮਦਮਾ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
And I will surround you like a sphere all around you, and I will raise up a rampart against you, and I will set up fortifications to blockade you.
4 ੪ ਤੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੀ ਡੁੰਘਿਆਈ ਤੋਂ ਬੋਲੇਂਗਾ, ਤੇਰਾ ਬੋਲ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਦੇ ਹੇਠੋਂ ਆਵੇਗਾ, ਤੇਰੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪ੍ਰੇਤਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰਾ ਬੋਲ ਖ਼ਾਕ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਘੁਸਰ-ਮੁਸਰ ਕਰੇਗਾ।
You will be brought low. You will speak from the ground, and your eloquence will be heard from the dirt. And, from the ground, your voice will be like that of the python, and your eloquence will mumble from the dirt.
5 ੫ ਪਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਦਲ ਬਰੀਕ ਘੱਟੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ, ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਾਲਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਲ ਉੱਡਦੇ ਕੱਖਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ। ਇਹ ਝੱਟਪੱਟ, ਇੱਕਦਮ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
And the multitude of those who fan you will be like fine dust. And the multitude of those who have prevailed against you will be like embers fading away.
6 ੬ ਸੈਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਗੱਜ ਨਾਲ, ਭੁਚਾਲ ਨਾਲ, ਵੱਡੇ ਸ਼ੋਰ, ਵਾਵਰੋਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੂਫ਼ਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਭਸਮ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀ ਅੱਗ ਦੀ ਲਾਟ ਨਾਲ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦੇਣ ਆਵੇਗਾ।
And this will happen suddenly and swiftly. It will be visited from the Lord of hosts with thunder and earthquakes, and with the great noise of a whirlwind and a storm, and with a flame of devouring fire.
7 ੭ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਲ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਅਰੀਏਲ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਲੜਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਤੰਗ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਸੁਫ਼ਨੇ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ, ਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੋ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
And the multitude of all the nations that have struggled against Ariel will be like the dream of a vision by night, along with all who have battled, and besieged, and prevailed against it.
8 ੮ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਭੁੱਖਾ ਸੁਫ਼ਨਾ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਖਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਜਾਗਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਭੁੱਖਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਾਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਤਿਹਾਇਆ ਸੁਫ਼ਨਾ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਿ ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਪੀ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ, ਪਰ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਜਾਗਦਾ, ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ, ਉਹ ਹੁੱਸਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਜੀ ਤਿਹਾਇਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਤਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦਲ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਸੀਯੋਨ ਪਰਬਤ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।
And it will be like one who is hungry and dreams of eating, but, when he has been awakened, his soul is empty. And it will be like one who is thirsty and dreams of drinking, but, after he has been awakened, he still languishes in thirst, and his soul is empty. So shall the multitude of all the nations be, who have struggled against Mount Zion.
9 ੯ ਠਹਿਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਰਾਨ ਹੋਵੋ! ਮੌਜਾਂ ਲੁੱਟੋ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਓ! ਉਹ ਮਤਵਾਲੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਮਧ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉਹ ਡਗਮਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਸ਼ਰਾਬ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ!
Be stupefied and in wonder! Shake and quiver! Be inebriated, but not from wine! Stagger, but not from drunkenness!
10 ੧੦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੂੜ੍ਹੀ ਨੀਂਦ ਦੀ ਰੂਹ ਵਹਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਨਬੀ ਰੂਪੀ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਦ ਕੀਤਾ, ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਿਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਦਰਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
For the Lord has mixed for you a spirit of deep sleep. He will close your eyes. He will cover your prophets and leaders, who see visions.
11 ੧੧ ਸਾਰਾ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਲਈ ਉਸ ਮੋਹਰ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਂਗੂੰ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਪੜ੍ਹੇ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਦੇਣ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹੋ ਤਾਂ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਖੇ, ਮੈਂ ਪੜ੍ਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੋਹਰ ਲੱਗੀ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ।
And the vision of all will be to you like the words of a sealed book, which, when they have given it to someone who knows how to read, they will say, “Read this,” but he will respond, “I cannot; for it has been sealed.”
12 ੧੨ ਫੇਰ ਉਹ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਕਿਸੇ ਅਣਪੜ੍ਹ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਨੂੰ ਪੜ੍ਹੋ ਤਾਂ, ਪਰ ਉਹ ਆਖੇ, ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਅਣਪੜ੍ਹ ਹਾਂ।
But if the book is given to someone who does not know how to read, and it is said to him, “Read,” then he will respond, “I do not know how to read.”
13 ੧੩ ਤਦ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਮੇਰੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਉਂਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਿਆਂ ਮੂੰਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬੁੱਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰਾ ਆਦਰ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਪਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਦਿਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਰ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰਾ ਭੈਅ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਲਈ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਹੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਰਟਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ,
And the Lord said: Since this people have drawn near to me only with their mouth, and their lips glorify me while their heart is far from me, and their fear of me is based on the commandments and doctrines of men,
14 ੧੪ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਵੇਖੋ, ਮੈਂ ਫੇਰ ਇਸ ਪਰਜਾ ਨਾਲ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਅਤੇ ਅਜੂਬਾ ਕੰਮ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਬੁੱਧ ਨਾਸ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਤਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਚਤਰਾਈ ਲੁਕਾਈ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ।
for this reason, behold, I will proceed to accomplish a wonder for this people, a great and mystifying miracle. For wisdom will perish from their wise, and the understanding of their prudent will be concealed.
15 ੧੫ ਹਾਏ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਯੋਜਨਾ ਲੁਕਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਵੱਡਾ ਜਤਨ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ! ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਮ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਖਦੇ ਹਨ, ਕੌਣ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਕੌਣ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਹੈ?
Woe to you who use the depths of the heart, so that you may hide your intentions from the Lord. Their works are done in darkness, and so they say: “Who sees us?” and “Who knows us?”
16 ੧੬ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਲਟ-ਪੁਲਟ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ! ਕੀ ਘੁਮਿਆਰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਭਈ ਬਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਚੀਜ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਖੇ, ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਣਾਇਆ, ਜਾਂ ਘੜਤ ਆਪਣੇ ਘੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਆਖੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਸਮਝ ਨਹੀਂ?
This intention of yours is perverse. It is as if the clay were to plan against the potter, or as if the work were to say to its maker: “You did not make me.” Or it is as if what has been formed were to say to the one who formed it, “You do not understand.”
17 ੧੭ ਕੀ ਥੋੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੀ ਚਿਰ ਬਾਕੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਦ ਲਬਾਨੋਨ ਫਲਦਾਰ ਖੇਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਦਲ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਅਤੇ ਫਲਦਾਰ ਖੇਤ ਜੰਗਲ ਜਿਹਾ ਗਿਣਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ।
In not more than a little while and a brief time, Lebanon will be turned into a fruitful field, and a fruitful field will be considered to be a forest.
18 ੧੮ ਉਸ ਦਿਨ ਬੋਲ੍ਹੇ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਸੁਣਨਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਅੰਨ੍ਹਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਧੁੰਦ ਅਤੇ ਹਨੇਰੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਵੇਖਣਗੀਆਂ,
And in that day, the deaf will hear the words of a book, and out of darkness and obscurity the eyes of the blind will see.
And the meek will increase their rejoicing in the Lord, and the poor among men will exult in the Holy One of Israel.
20 ੨੦ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਜ਼ਾਲਮ ਮਿਟ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਠੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੁੱਕ ਜਾਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਬਦੀ ਲਈ ਜਾਗਦੇ ਹਨ ਮਿਟਾਏ ਜਾਣਗੇ,
For the one who was prevailing has failed, the one who was mocking has been consumed, and all those who were standing guard over iniquity have been cut down.
21 ੨੧ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਪੀ ਠਹਿਰਾਉਂਦੇ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਸਭਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਾੜਨਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ ਫਾਹੀ ਲਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ, ਅਤੇ ਧਰਮੀ ਨੂੰ ਧੋਖਾ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮੋੜ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹਨ।
For they caused men to sin by a word, and they supplanted him who argued against them at the gates, and they turned away from justice in vain.
22 ੨੨ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਹੁਣ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਸ਼ਰਮਿੰਦਾ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ, ਹੁਣ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਪੀਲਾ ਨਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।
Because of this, thus says the Lord, he who has redeemed Abraham, to the house of Jacob: From now on, Jacob will not be confounded; from now on his countenance will not blush with shame.
23 ੨੩ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ, ਜੋ ਮੇਰੀ ਦਸਤਕਾਰੀ ਹੈ, ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੇਖਣਗੇ, ਤਦ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਯਾਕੂਬ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਪੁਰਖ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਖਣਗੇ, ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਭੈਅ ਮੰਨਣਗੇ।
Instead, when he sees his children, they will be the work of my hands in his midst, sanctifying my name, and they will sanctify the Holy One of Jacob, and they will preach the God of Israel.
And those who had gone astray in spirit will know understanding, and those who had murmured will learn the law.
