ਉਤਪਤ 17
1 ੧ ਜਦ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੜਿੰਨਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਤਦ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੈਂ ਸਰਬ ਸ਼ਕਤੀਮਾਨ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹਾਂ। ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਚੱਲ ਅਤੇ ਸੰਪੂਰਨ ਹੋ।
When Abram was ninetie yeere olde and nine, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said vnto him, I am God all sufficient. walke before me, and be thou vpright,
And I will make my couenant betweene me and thee, and I will multiplie thee exceedingly.
Then Abram fell on his face, and God talked with him, saying,
Beholde, I make my couenant with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations,
5 ੫ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਫੇਰ ਅਬਰਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਪਰ ਤੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤੀਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਠਹਿਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।
Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shalbe Abraham: for a father of many nations haue I made thee.
6 ੬ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਹੱਦੋਂ ਬਾਹਲਾ ਫਲਵੰਤ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੈਥੋਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਤੋਂ ਰਾਜੇ ਨਿੱਕਲਣਗੇ।
Also I will make thee exceeding fruitfull, and will make nations of thee: yea, Kings shall proceede of thee.
7 ੭ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਨੇਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ ਸਗੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਇੱਕ ਅਨੰਤ ਨੇਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਬੰਨ੍ਹਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਸ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ।
Moreouer I wil establish my couenant betweene me and thee, and thy seede after thee in their generations, for an euerlasting couenant, to be God vnto thee and to thy seede after thee.
8 ੮ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਤੇਰੇ ਵੰਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਸਾਰਾ ਕਨਾਨ ਦੇਸ਼ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੂੰ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਸਦਾ ਦੀ ਵਿਰਾਸਤ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਦੇ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ।
And I will giue thee and thy seede after thee the land, wherein thou art a stranger, euen all the land of Canaan, for an euerlasting possession, and I will be their God.
9 ੯ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰ, ਤੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਸ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਇਸ ਨੇਮ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਕਰਨ।
Againe God said vnto Abraham, Thou also shalt keepe my couenant, thou, and thy seede after thee in their generations.
10 ੧੦ ਮੇਰਾ ਇਹ ਨੇਮ, ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਣਾ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਅੰਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਨੀ ਹੈ, ਉਹ ਇਹ ਹੈ: ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁਰਖ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ।
This is my couenant which ye shall keepe betweene me and you, and thy seede after thee, Let euery man childe among you be circumcised:
That is, ye shall circumcise the foreskin of your flesh, and it shalbe a signe of the couenant betweene me and you.
12 ੧੨ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਰ ਇੱਕ ਅੱਠਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਰ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਓਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਰਦੇਸੀ ਤੋਂ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਅੰਸ ਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੱਲ ਲਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ।
And euery man childe of eight dayes olde among you, shalbe circumcised in your generations, aswell he that is borne in thine house, as he that is bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seede.
13 ੧੩ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੱਲ ਲਏ ਹੋਣ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੇਰਾ ਨੇਮ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਰੀਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਅਨੰਤ ਨੇਮ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
He that is borne in thine house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needes be circumcised: so my couenant shall be in your flesh for an euerlasting couenant.
14 ੧੪ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਪੁਰਖ ਬੇਸੁੰਨਤਾ ਰਹੇ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਖੱਲੜੀ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਆਪਣੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਛੇਕਿਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨੇਮ ਨੂੰ ਤੋੜਿਆ ਹੈ।
But the vncircumcised man childe, in whose flesh the foreskin is not circumcised, euen that person shall be cut off from his people, because he hath broken my couenant.
15 ੧੫ ਫੇਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਸਾਰਈ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਹੈ, ਤੂੰ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਈ ਨਾ ਆਖੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੋਂ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।
Afterward God said vnto Abraham, Sarai thy wife shalt thou not call Sarai, but Sarah shalbe her name.
16 ੧੬ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਵੀ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ। ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਅਸੀਸ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਾਤਾ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ, ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਪੈਦਾ ਹੋਣਗੇ।
And I will blesse her, and will also giue thee a sonne of her, yea, I will blesse her, and she shall be the mother of nations: Kings also of people shall come of her.
17 ੧੭ ਤਦ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਭਾਰ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਹੱਸਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਖਿਆ, ਭਲਾ, ਸੌ ਸਾਲ ਦੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਤੋਂ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ? ਅਤੇ ਕੀ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਜੋ ਨੱਬੇ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਣੇਗੀ?
Then Abraham fell vpon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a childe be borne vnto him, that is an hundreth yeere olde? and shall Sarah that is ninetie yeere olde beare?
And Abraham saide vnto God, Oh, that Ishmael might liue in thy sight.
19 ੧੯ ਪਰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੇਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜਣੇਗੀ, ਤੂੰ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਰੱਖੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਨੇਮ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਅੰਸ ਨਾਲ, ਇੱਕ ਅਨੰਤ ਨੇਮ ਕਰਕੇ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
Then God saide, Sarah thy wife shall beare thee a sonne in deede, and thou shalt call his name Izhak: and I will establish my couenant with him for an euerlasting couenant, and with his seede after him.
20 ੨੦ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਵੀ ਮੈਂ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ। ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਅਸੀਸ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਫਲਵੰਤ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਦੋਂ ਬਾਹਲਾ ਵਧਾਵਾਂਗਾ। ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਜੰਮਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਵੱਡੀ ਕੌਮ ਬਣਾਵਾਂਗਾ।
And as concerning Ishmael, I haue heard thee: loe, I haue blessed him, and will make him fruitfull, and will multiplie him exceedingly: twelue princes shall he beget, and I will make a great nation of him.
21 ੨੧ ਪਰ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਨੇਮ ਇਸਹਾਕ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕਾਇਮ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ, ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਾਹ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਸਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਜਣੇਗੀ।
But my couenant will I establish with Izhak, which Sarah shall beare vnto thee, the next yeere at this season.
And he left off talking with him, and God went vp from Abraham.
23 ੨੩ ਤਦ ਅਬਰਾਹਾਮ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਇਸਮਾਏਲ, ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮਿਆ ਹੋਇਆਂ ਨੂੰ, ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਨਾਲ ਮੁੱਲ ਲਏ ਸਨ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹੇ ਪੁਰਖ ਸਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਉਸੇ ਦਿਨ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੱਲੜੀ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਕਰਾਈ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ।
Then Abraham tooke Ishmael his sonne and all that were borne in his house, and all that was bought with his money, that is, euery man childe among the men of Abrahams house, and he circumcised the foreskinne of their flesh in that selfe same day, as God had comaunded him.
Abraham also himselfe was ninetie yeere olde and nine, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.
And Ishmael his sonne was thirteene yeere olde, when the foreskinne of his flesh was circumcised.
The selfe same day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his sonne:
27 ੨੭ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੁਰਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਭਾਵੇਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੰਮੇ ਸਨ, ਭਾਵੇਂ ਪਰਦੇਸੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਲਏ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਸੁੰਨਤ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।
And all the men of his house, both borne in his house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
