ਕੂਚ 9
1 ੧ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਕੋਲ ਜਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਬਰਾਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਕਿ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰੇ।
Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Go to Pharaoh and tell him, 'Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says this: “Let my people go so that they may worship me.”
But if you refuse to let them go, if you still keep them back,
3 ੩ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਘੋੜਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ, ਗਧਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ, ਊਠਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ, ਚੌਣਿਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਜੜਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਰੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਵੱਡੀ ਹੋਵੇਗੀ।
then Yahweh's hand will be on your cattle in the fields and on the horses, donkeys, camels, herds, and flocks, and it will cause a terrible disease.
4 ੪ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੱਖਰਾ ਕਰੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਹਨ ਕੋਈ ਨਾ ਮਰੇਗਾ।
Yahweh will treat Israel's cattle and Egypt's cattle differently and no animal that belongs to the Israelites will die.
Yahweh has fixed a time; he has said, “It is tomorrow that I will do this thing in the land.”'”
6 ੬ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਕੰਮ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਮਰ ਗਏ ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਮਰਿਆ।
Yahweh did this the next day: All the cattle of Egypt died, but none of the Israelites' animals died, not one animal.
7 ੭ ਫੇਰ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਵੇਖੋ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਰਿਆ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਪੱਥਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Pharaoh investigated, and, behold, not even one animal of the Israelites died. But his heart was stubborn, so he did not let the people go.
8 ੮ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਭੱਠੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਆਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਮੁੱਠਾਂ ਭਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਵੇਖਦਿਆਂ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਉਡਾਵੇ।
Then Yahweh said to Moses and to Aaron, “Take some handfuls of ashes from a kiln. You, Moses, must throw the ashes up into the air while Pharaoh is watching.
9 ੯ ਤਾਂ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਹ ਘੱਟਾ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਡੰਗਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੰਗਿਆਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਛਾਲੇ ਬਣ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
They will become fine dust over all the land of Egypt. They will cause blisters and sores to break out on people and animals throughout all the land of Egypt.”
10 ੧੦ ਸੋ ਉਹ ਭੱਠੀ ਦੀ ਸੁਆਹ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਖੜੇ ਹੋਏ। ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਉਡਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਡੰਗਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅੰਗਿਆਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਛਾਲੇ ਪੈ ਗਏ।
So Moses and Aaron took ashes from a kiln and stood in front of Pharaoh. Then Moses threw the ashes up into the air. The ashes caused blisters and sores to break out on people and animals.
11 ੧੧ ਤਾਂ ਜਾਦੂਗਰ ਅੰਗਿਆਰਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਖੜੇ ਨਾ ਹੋ ਸਕੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਜਾਦੂਗਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿਸਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਅੰਗਿਆਰੇ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ।
The magicians could not resist Moses because of the blisters, because the blisters were on them and on all the other Egyptians.
12 ੧੨ ਅਤੇ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਨੂੰ ਕਠੋਰ ਹੋਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੀ।
Yahweh hardened Pharaoh's heart, so Pharaoh did not listen to Moses and Aaron. This was just as Yahweh had said to Moses that Pharaoh would do.
13 ੧੩ ਉਪਰੰਤ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਸਵੇਰੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਜਾ ਕੇ ਖੜਾ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਬਰਾਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਆਖਦਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰੇ
Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning, stand in front of Pharaoh, and say to him, 'Yahweh, the God of the Hebrews, says this: “Let my people go so that they may worship me.
14 ੧੪ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਬਵਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਉੱਤੇ, ਤੇਰੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਉੱਤੇ ਭੇਜਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਜਾਣੇ ਕਿ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਜਿਹਾ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ।
For this time I will send all my plagues on you yourself, on your servants and your people. I will do this so that you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth.
15 ੧੫ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਵਧਾ ਕੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਰੀ ਰਈਅਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਰੀ ਨਾਲ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਤੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੋਂ ਮਿਟ ਗਿਆ ਹੁੰਦਾ
By now I could have reached out with my hand and attacked you and your people with disease, and you would have been eradicated from the land.
16 ੧੬ ਪਰ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਮੈਂ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਖੜਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਕਰਕੇ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਆਪਣਾ ਬਲ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਮੇਰਾ ਨਾਮ ਸਾਰੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ।
But it was for this reason I allowed you to survive: In order to show you my power, so that my name may be proclaimed throughout all the earth.
You are still lifting yourself up against my people by not letting them go.
Listen! Tomorrow about this time I will bring a very strong hail storm, such as has not been seen in Egypt since the day it was begun until now.
19 ੧੯ ਸੋ ਹੁਣ ਤੂੰ ਭੇਜ ਕੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਸ਼ੂ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਤੇਰਾ ਜੂਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ ਭਜਾ ਲਿਆ। ਸਾਰੇ ਆਦਮੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਡੰਗਰਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਣ ਅਤੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਾ ਲਿਆਂਦੇ ਜਾਣ ਗੜੇ ਪੈਣਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਣਗੇ।
Now then, send men and gather your cattle and everything you have in the fields to a safe place. Every man and animal that is in the field and is not brought home—the hail will come down on them, and they will die.”'”
20 ੨੦ ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਤੋਂ ਭੈਅ ਖਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਘਰੀਂ ਭਜਾ ਲਿਆਇਆ।
Then those of Pharaoh's servants who believed in Yahweh's message hurried to bring their slaves and cattle into the houses.
21 ੨੧ ਪਰ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਬਚਨ ਉੱਤੇ ਨਾ ਲਾਇਆ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੂਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
But those who did not take Yahweh's message seriously left their slaves and cattle in the fields.
22 ੨੨ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਵਧਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਦਮੀ ਉੱਤੇ, ਡੰਗਰ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤ ਦੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਾਗ ਪੱਤ ਉੱਤੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਗੜੇ ਪੈਣ।
Then Yahweh said to Moses, “Reach out with your hand toward the sky so that there will be hail in all the land of Egypt, on people, on animals, and on all the plants in the fields throughout the land of Egypt.”
23 ੨੩ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਢਾਂਗਾ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵੱਲ ਲੰਮਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਗਰਜ ਅਤੇ ਗੜੇ ਭੇਜੇ ਅਤੇ ਅੱਗ ਧਰਤੀ ਵੱਲ ਚਲੀ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਗੜੇ ਵਰਸਾਏ।
Moses reached out with his staff toward the sky, and Yahweh sent thunder, hail, and lightning to the ground. He also rained hail on the land of Egypt.
24 ੨੪ ਸੋ ਗੜੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਗੜਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਅੱਗ ਰਲੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਇਹ ਐਨੀ ਡਾਢੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੌਮ ਬਣਨ ਤੋਂ ਲੈ ਕੇ ਹੋਈ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
So there were hail and lightning mixed with hail, very severe, such as had not been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation.
25 ੨੫ ਅਤੇ ਗੜਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜੋ ਜੂਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੀ ਕੀ ਆਦਮੀ ਕੀ ਡੰਗਰ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਨਾਲੇ ਗੜਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਖੇਤ ਦਾ ਸੱਭੋ ਸਾਗ ਪੱਤ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਖੇਤ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਬਿਰਛ ਭੰਨ ਸੁੱਟੇ।
Throughout all the land of Egypt, the hail struck everything in the fields, both people and animals. It struck every plant in the fields and broke every tree.
Only in the land of Goshen, where the Israelites lived, was there no hail.
27 ੨੭ ਤਾਂ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਮੂਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਹਾਰੂਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਸੱਚ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਹਾਂ।
Then Pharaoh sent men to summon Moses and Aaron. He said to them, “I have sinned this time. Yahweh is righteous, and I and my people are wicked.
28 ੨੮ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਸਿਫ਼ਾਰਸ਼ ਕਰੋ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਹੁਣ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਗਰਜ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਹੋ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਮੈਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਦੇਵਾਂਗਾ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਠਹਿਰੋਗੇ।
Pray to Yahweh, because the mighty thunderbolts and hail are too much. I will let you go, and you will stay here no longer.”
29 ੨੯ ਤਾਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਹੀ ਮੈਂ ਨਗਰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਂਵਾਂਗਾ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਅੱਡਾਂਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਗਰਜ਼ਣਾ ਹਟ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੜੇ ਫੇਰ ਨਾ ਪੈਣਗੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਜਾਣੋ ਕਿ ਧਰਤੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਹੈ।
Moses said to him, “As soon as I leave the city, I will spread my hands out to Yahweh. The thunder will stop, and there will not be any more hail. In this way you will know that the earth belongs to Yahweh.
But as for you and your servants, I know that you do not yet really honor Yahweh God.”
Now the flax and the barley were ruined, for the barley was maturing in the ear, and the flax was in bloom.
But the wheat and the spelt were not harmed because they were later crops.
33 ੩੩ ਤਾਂ ਮੂਸਾ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਨਗਰ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਾਹਰ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਹੱਥ ਅੱਡੇ ਤਾਂ ਗਰਜ਼ਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੜੇ ਹਟ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਵਰਖਾ ਧਰਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਥੰਮ੍ਹ ਗਈ।
When Moses had left Pharaoh and the city, he spread out his hands to Yahweh; the thunder and hail stopped, and the rain came down no more.
34 ੩੪ ਜਦ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਨੇ ਡਿੱਠਾ ਕਿ ਵਰਖਾ ਅਤੇ ਗੜੇ ਅਤੇ ਗਰਜ਼ਣਾ ਹਟ ਗਏ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਫੇਰ ਪਾਪ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਮਨ ਪੱਥਰ ਕਰ ਲਿਆ ਉਸ ਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਟਹਿਲੂਆਂ ਵੀ।
When Pharaoh saw that the rain, hail, and thunder had ceased, he sinned again and hardened his heart, together with his servants.
35 ੩੫ ਸੋ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਮੂਸਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਫ਼ਿਰਊਨ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਕਠੋਰ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣ ਨਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
Pharaoh's heart was hardened, so he did not let the people of Israel go. This was the way that Yahweh had said to Moses that Pharaoh would act.
