ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਸਾਰ 13
1 ੧ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਨਬੀ ਜਾਂ ਸੁਫ਼ਨਾ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਉੱਠੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੋਈ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਜਾਂ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਵਿਖਾਵੇ,
If there arise among you a prophet, or one that dreameth dreams, and he give thee a sign or a wonder,
2 ੨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਜਾਂ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਪੂਰਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਬੋਲਿਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਆਓ, ਅਸੀਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚੱਲੀਏ, (ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ) ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੀਏ,
and the sign or the wonder come to pass that he told unto thee, when he said, Let us go after other gods, whom thou hast not known, and let us serve them,
3 ੩ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨਬੀ ਜਾਂ ਸੁਫ਼ਨੇ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸੁਣਿਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਰਖੇਗਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਜਾਣੇ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕਰਦੇ ਹੋ ਜਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ।
— thou shalt not hearken unto the words of that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams; for Jehovah your God proveth you, to know whether ye love Jehovah your God with all your heart and with all your soul.
4 ੪ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚੱਲਿਓ, ਉਸੇ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਿਓ, ਉਸੇ ਦੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰਿਓ, ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਣਿਓ, ਉਸੇ ਦੀ ਉਪਾਸਨਾ ਕਰਿਓ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਗੇ ਰਹਿਓ।
Ye shall walk after Jehovah your God, and ye shall fear him, and his commandments shall ye keep, and his voice shall ye hear; and ye shall serve him, and unto him shall ye cleave.
5 ੫ ਉਹ ਨਬੀ ਜਾਂ ਸੁਫ਼ਨੇ ਵੇਖਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਬੋਲ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਲਾਮੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਛੁਟਕਾਰਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਰਾਹ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਦਾ ਹੁਕਮ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ, ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਦੇਈਓ।
And that prophet, or that dreamer of dreams, shall be put to death; for he hath spoken revolt against Jehovah your God who brought you out of the land of Egypt, and redeemed you out of the house of bondage, — to draw thee out of the way that Jehovah thy God commanded thee to walk in; and thou shalt put evil away from thy midst.
6 ੬ ਜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਸੱਕਾ ਭਰਾ, ਜਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਜਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਧੀ, ਜਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਪਤਨੀ ਜਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਜਾਨੀ ਦੋਸਤ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਗੁਪਤ ਰੂਪ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਫੁਸਲਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਆ ਅਸੀਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਚੱਲੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੀਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਤੁਸੀਂ, ਨਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਿਉ-ਦਾਦੇ ਜਾਣਦੇ ਸਨ,
If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend, who is to thee as thy soul, entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods (whom thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
7 ੭ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ, ਦੂਰ ਜਾਂ ਨੇੜੇ, ਜਾਂ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਿਰੇ ਤੋਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਸਿਰੇ ਤੱਕ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਦੇਵਤੇ ਹੋਣ,
of the gods of the peoples which are round about you, near unto thee, or far from thee, from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth),
8 ੮ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹਾਮੀ ਨਾ ਭਰਿਓ, ਨਾ ਉਸ ਦੀ ਸੁਣਿਓ, ਨਾ ਤੁਹਾਡੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਤਰਸ ਆਵੇ, ਨਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰਿਓ, ਨਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਲੁਕਾਓ
thou shalt not consent unto him, nor hearken unto him; neither shall thine eye spare him, neither shalt thou pity him, neither shalt thou screen him,
9 ੯ ਪਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਹੀ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਿਓ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰਾ ਹੱਥ ਪਹਿਲ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਅਦ ਸਾਰੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਹੱਥ ਉੱਠਣ।
but thou shalt in any case kill him: thy hand shall be the first against him to put him to death, and afterwards the hands of all the people;
10 ੧੦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਉੱਤੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਪਥਰਾਓ ਕਰਿਓ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੋਂ ਭਟਕਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਸਰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਤੋਂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਗੁਲਾਮੀ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਤੋਂ ਕੱਢ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਹੈ।
and thou shalt stone him with stones, that he die; for he hath sought to draw thee away from Jehovah thy God who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage;
and all Israel shall hear, and fear, and shall do no more any such wicked thing as this in thy midst.
12 ੧੨ ਜੇਕਰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਿਖੇ ਸੁਣੋ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵੱਸਣ ਲਈ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ,
If in one of thy cities, which Jehovah thy God hath given thee to dwell there, thou hearest, saying,
13 ੧੩ ਕਿ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਈ ਦੁਸ਼ਟ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਿੱਕਲੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਆਖ ਕੇ ਕੁਰਾਹੇ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਓ ਚੱਲੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਦੇਵਤਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਪੂਜਾ ਕਰੀਏ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਾਣਦੇ,
There are men, children of Belial, gone out from among you, and they have drawn away the inhabitants of their city, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, whom ye have not known;
14 ੧੪ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪੁੱਛ-ਗਿੱਛ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਲੱਭੋ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਕਾ ਪਤਾ ਲਗਾਓ। ਅਤੇ ਵੇਖੋ, ਜੇਕਰ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਸੱਚੀ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਕੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਘਿਣਾਉਣਾ ਕੰਮ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ,
then shalt thou inquire, and make search, and ask diligently; and if it be truth, [and] the thing be certain, that this abomination hath happened in the midst of thee,
15 ੧੫ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਹੀ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਵੱਢ ਸੁੱਟਿਓ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਭ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਸ਼ੂਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਦੀ ਧਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਸ ਕਰ ਦੇਣਾ।
thou shalt surely smite the inhabitants of that city with the edge of the sword, devoting it to destruction, and all that is therein, and the cattle thereof, with the edge of the sword.
16 ੧੬ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਲੁੱਟ ਦਾ ਮਾਲ ਚੌਂਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਿਓ, ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੁੱਟ ਦੇ ਮਾਲ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਲਈ ਅੱਗ ਨਾਲ ਸਾੜ ਸੁੱਟਿਓ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਸਦਾ ਲਈ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਦਾ ਢੇਰ ਬਣ ਜਾਵੇ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਫੇਰ ਕਦੀ ਨਾ ਉਸਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਵੇ।
And all the spoil of it shalt thou gather into the midst of the open place thereof, and shalt burn the city with fire, and all the spoil thereof, wholly to Jehovah thy God; and it shall be a heap for ever; it shall not be built again.
17 ੧੭ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨਾਸ ਕੀਤੇ ਜਾਣ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਚੀਜ਼ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹੱਥ ਨਾ ਲੱਗੇ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਕ੍ਰੋਧ ਦੀ ਸਖ਼ਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੋਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਅਤੇ ਦਯਾਵਾਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਵਧਾਵੇ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਧੀ ਸੀ।
And thou shalt not let anything cleave to thy hand of the devoted thing; that Jehovah may turn from the fierceness of his anger, and shew thee mercy, and have compassion upon thee, and multiply thee, as he hath sworn unto thy fathers;
18 ੧੮ ਇਹ ਤਦ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਜਦ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੋਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਹੁਕਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰੋਗੇ, ਜਿਹੜੇ ਮੈਂ ਅੱਜ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਠੀਕ ਹੈ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਕਰੋਗੇ।
when thou hearkenest to the voice of Jehovah thy God, to keep all his commandments which I command thee this day, that thou mayest do what is right in the eyes of Jehovah thy God.
