But Saul, still breathing out threatenings and slaughter against the disciples of the Lord, came to the high priest
2 ੨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਦੰਮਿਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਇਸ ਪਰਕਾਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਚਿੱਠੀਆਂ ਮੰਗੀਆਂ ਕਿ, ਜੋ ਇਸ ਪੰਥ ਦੇ ਮੰਨਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ, ਚਾਹੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਜਾਂ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਹੋਣ ਤਾਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨ ਕੇ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਵਾਂ।
and asked of him letters to Damascus, to the synagogues, so that if he found any who were of the way, both men and women, he might bring [them] bound to Jerusalem.
3 ੩ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਸੀ, ਤਦ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੰਮਿਸ਼ਕ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਆਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਚਾਨਕ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਜੋਤੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਆਲੇ-ਦੁਆਲੇ ਚਮਕੀ,
But as he was journeying, it came to pass that he drew near to Damascus; and suddenly there shone round about him a light out of heaven,
4 ੪ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਡਿੱਗ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਸੁਣੀ, ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਕਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ, ਹੇ ਸੌਲੁਸ, ਹੇ ਸੌਲੁਸ! ਤੂੰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਕਿਉਂ ਸਤਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈਂ?
and falling on the earth he heard a voice saying to him, Saul, Saul, why dost thou persecute me?
And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And he [said], I am Jesus, whom thou persecutest.
But rise up and enter into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
7 ੭ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਆਦਮੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਚੁੱਪ-ਚਾਪ ਖੜੇ ਰਹੇ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਣੀ ਪਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ।
But the men who were travelling with him stood speechless, hearing the voice but beholding no one.
8 ੮ ਸੌਲੁਸ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਤੋਂ ਉੱਠਿਆ ਪਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਵੀ ਨਜ਼ਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਆ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਦੰਮਿਸ਼ਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਲਿਆਏ।
And Saul rose up from the earth, and his eyes being opened he saw no one. But leading [him] by the hand they brought him into Damascus.
And he was three days without seeing, and neither ate nor drank.
10 ੧੦ ਦੰਮਿਸ਼ਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨਾਨਿਯਾਹ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਚੇਲਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਣ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹਨਾਨਿਯਾਹ! ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਹਾਂ।
And there was a certain disciple in Damascus by name Ananias. And the Lord said to him in a vision, Ananias. And he said, Behold, [here am] I, Lord.
11 ੧੧ ਤਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਕਿਹਾ, ਉੱਠ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਗਲੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਜੋ “ਸਿੱਧੀ” ਕਹਾਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾ ਦੇ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੌਲੁਸ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਜੋ ਤਰਸੁਸ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਹੈ, ਉਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਛ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਵੇਖ ਉਹ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।
And the Lord [said] to him, Rise up and go into the street which is called Straight, and seek in the house of Judas one by name Saul, [he is] of Tarsus: for, behold, he is praying,
12 ੧੨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਨਾਨਿਯਾਹ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਅੰਦਰ ਆਉਂਦਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖਦਿਆਂ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਫੇਰ ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ਹੋਵੇ।
and has seen [in a vision] a man by name Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, so that he should see.
13 ੧੩ ਪਰ ਹਨਾਨਿਯਾਹ ਨੇ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਜੀ ਮੈਂ ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਦੀ ਗੱਲ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ, ਇਹ ਨੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਬੁਰਿਆਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ!
And Ananias answered, Lord, I have heard from many concerning this man how much evil he has done to thy saints at Jerusalem;
14 ੧੪ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਅਧਿਕਾਰ ਪਾਇਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇੱਥੇ ਵੀ ਤੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਤਾਵੇ।
and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who call upon thy name.
15 ੧੫ ਪਰ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਤੂੰ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਜਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਚੁਣਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਵਸੀਲਾ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਾਜਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਅੱਗੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰੇ।
And the Lord said to him, Go, for this [man] is an elect vessel to me, to bear my name before both nations and kings and [the] sons of Israel:
for I will shew to him how much he must suffer for my name.
17 ੧੭ ਤਦ ਹਨਾਨਿਯਾਹ ਚੱਲਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਘਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਾ ਵੜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਤੇ ਹੱਥ ਰੱਖ ਕੇ ਬੋਲਿਆ, ਹੇ ਭਾਈ ਸੌਲੁਸ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਯਿਸੂ ਨੇ ਜੋ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਖਾਈ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਤੂੰ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ, ਮੈਨੂੰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ਹੋ ਜਾਵੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਜਾਵੇਂ।
And Ananias went and entered into the house; and laying his hands upon him he said, Saul, brother, the Lord has sent me, Jesus that appeared to thee in the way in which thou camest, that thou mightest see, and be filled with [the] Holy Spirit.
18 ੧੮ ਉਸੇ ਘੜੀ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਛਿਲਕੇ ਡਿੱਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਸੁਜਾਖਾ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ, ਅਤੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਬਪਤਿਸਮਾ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਭੋਜਨ ਖਾਧਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਲ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ।
And straightway there fell from his eyes as it were scales, and he saw, and rising up was baptised;
and, having received food, got strength. And he was with the disciples who [were] in Damascus certain days.
And straightway in the synagogues he preached Jesus that he is the Son of God.
21 ੨੧ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਸੁਣਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਬੋਲੇ, ਕੀ ਇਹ ਉਹ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਲੈਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਰਬਾਦ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇਸੇ ਗੱਲ ਲਈ ਇੱਥੇ ਆਇਆ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੰਨੇ ਅਤੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਲੈ ਜਾਵੇ?
And all who heard were astonished and said, Is not this he who destroyed in Jerusalem those who called on this name, and here was come for this purpose, that he might bring them bound to the chief priests?
22 ੨੨ ਪਰ ਸੌਲੁਸ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਤਕੜਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਬਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿ ਮਸੀਹ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਮੂੰਹ ਬੰਦ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਦੰਮਿਸ਼ਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
But Saul increased the more in power, and confounded the Jews who dwelt in Damascus, proving that this is the Christ.
Now when many days were fulfilled, the Jews consulted together to kill him.
24 ੨੪ ਪਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾਂ ਸੌਲੁਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਲੱਗ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰਾਤ-ਦਿਨ ਦਰਵਾਜਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਰਾਖੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਸੁੱਟਣ।
But their plot became known to Saul. And they watched also the gates both day and night, that they might kill him;
but the disciples took him by night and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.
26 ੨੬ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਲ ਜਾਣ ਦਾ ਯਤਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਪਰ ਸਭ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਡਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵੀ ਚੇਲਾ ਹੈ।
And having arrived at Jerusalem he essayed to join himself to the disciples, and all were afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.
27 ੨੭ ਪਰ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲੈ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਕਿਸ ਪਰਕਾਰ ਰਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੰਮਿਸ਼ਕ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਡਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ।
But Barnabas took him and brought him to the apostles, and related to them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how in Damascus he had spoken boldly in the name of Jesus.
And he was with them coming in and going out at Jerusalem,
29 ੨੯ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਤੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਡਰੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਾਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ, ਯੂਨਾਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਹਿਸ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਦੀ ਯੋਜਨਾਂ ਬਣਾ ਰਹੇ ਸੀ।
and speaking boldly in the name of the Lord. And he spoke and discussed with the Hellenists; but they sought to kill him.
And the brethren knowing it, brought him down to Caesarea and sent him away to Tarsus.
31 ੩੧ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦਿਯਾ, ਗਲੀਲ, ਸਾਮਰਿਯਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਮਿਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਲ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਦਾ ਅਨੰਦ ਲਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਕਲੀਸਿਯਾ ਵੱਧਦੀ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦੇ ਡਰ ਅਤੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਹੌਂਸਲੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਧਦੀ ਗਈ।
The assemblies then throughout the whole of Judaea and Galilee and Samaria had peace, being edified and walking in the fear of the Lord, and were increased through the comfort of the Holy Spirit.
32 ੩੨ ਫਿਰ ਇਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਪਤਰਸ ਸਭ ਪਾਸੇ ਫਿਰਦਾ-ਫਿਰਦਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੰਤਾਂ ਕੋਲ ਵੀ ਆਇਆ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਲੁੱਦਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
Now it came to pass that Peter, passing through all [quarters], descended also to the saints who inhabited Lydda.
33 ੩੩ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਥੇ ਐਨਿਯਾਸ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਇੱਕ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਅੱਠ ਸਾਲਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਧਰੰਗ ਦੀ ਬਿਮਾਰੀ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੰਜੇ ਉੱਤੇ ਪਿਆ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ।
And he found there a certain man, Aeneas by name, who had been lying for eight years upon a couch, who was paralysed.
34 ੩੪ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਐਨਿਯਾਸ, ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਉੱਠ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਿਛਾਉਣਾ ਸੁਧਾਰ, ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਸੇ ਵੇਲੇ ਉੱਠ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੋਇਆ!
And Peter said to him, Aeneas, Jesus, the Christ, heals thee: rise up, and make thy couch for thyself. And straightway he rose up.
And all who inhabited Lydda and the Saron saw him, who turned to the Lord.
36 ੩੬ ਯਾਪਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਬਿਥਾ ਨਾਮ ਦੀ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਦੋਰਕਸ ਇੱਕ ਚੇਲੀ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਅਰਥ ਹਰਨੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਔਰਤ ਭਲੇ ਕੰਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੰਨ ਦਾਨ ਕਰਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੁੱਝੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੀ ਸੀ।
And in Joppa there was a certain female disciple, by name Tabitha, which being interpreted means Dorcas. She was full of good works and alms-deeds which she did.
37 ੩੭ ਤਾਂ ਐਉਂ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹੀਂ ਦਿਨੀਂ ਬਿਮਾਰ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਮਰ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਨਾਨ ਕਰਵਾ ਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਚੁਬਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
And it came to pass in those days that she grew sick and died; and, having washed her, they put her in [the] upper room.
38 ੩੮ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਲੁੱਦਾ, ਜੋ ਯਾਪਾ ਦੇ ਨੇੜੇ ਸੀ, ਚੇਲਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣ ਕੇ ਜੋ ਪਤਰਸ ਉੱਥੇ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਦੋ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਭੇਜ ਕੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਮਿੰਨਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਜੋ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਉਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਰ ਨਾ ਕਰਿਓ।
But Lydda being near to Joppa, the disciples having heard that Peter was there, sent two men to him, beseeching him, Thou must not delay coming to us.
39 ੩੯ ਤਦ ਪਤਰਸ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਤੁਰ ਪਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਉੱਥੇ ਪੁੱਜਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਸ ਚੁਬਾਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਵਿਧਵਾਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਖੜੀਆਂ ਰੋਂਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਕੁੜਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਬਸਤਰ ਜੋ ਦੋਰਕਸ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੁੰਦਿਆਂ ਬਣਾਏ ਵਿਖਾਲਦੀਆਂ ਸਨ।
And Peter rising up went with them, whom, when arrived, they brought up into the upper chamber; and all the widows stood by him weeping and shewing him the body-coats and garments which Dorcas had made while she was with them.
40 ੪੦ ਪਰ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੇ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾਹਰ ਭੇਜਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਗੋਡੇ ਟੇਕ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਰਥਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਮ੍ਰਿਤਕ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਕਿਹਾ, ਹੇ ਤਬਿਥਾ, ਉੱਠ! ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਅੱਖੀਆਂ ਖੋਲ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਉੱਠ ਬੈਠੀ!
But Peter, putting them all out, and kneeling down, prayed. And, turning to the body, he said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes, and, seeing Peter, sat up.
41 ੪੧ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਹੱਥ ਫੜ੍ਹ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਠਾਇਆ, ਸੰਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਧਵਾ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਜਿਉਂਦੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਕੀਤਾ।
And having given her [his] hand, he raised her up, and having called the saints and the widows, presented her living.
