ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਰਤੱਬ 4
And as they spake unto the people, the priests and the captain of the temple and the Sadducees came upon them,
2 ੨ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਤੋਂ ਗੁੱਸੇ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਸਨ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਅਤੇ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਪਰਮਾਣ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣ ਦਾ ਉਪਦੇਸ਼ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ।
being sore troubled because they taught the people, and proclaimed in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
And they laid hands on them, and put them in ward unto the morrow: for it was now eventide.
4 ੪ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਚਨ ਸੁਣਿਆ, ਬਹੁਤਿਆਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਲੱਗਭਗ ਪੰਜ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਹੋ ਗਈ।
But many of them that heard the word believed; and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
And it came to pass on the morrow, that their rulers and elders and scribes were gathered together in Jerusalem;
and Annas the high priest [was there], and Caiaphas, and John, and Alexander, and as many as were of the kindred of the high priest.
And when they had set them in the midst, they inquired, By what power, or in what name, have ye done this?
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Ghost, said unto them, Ye rulers of the people, and elders,
9 ੯ ਜੇ ਅੱਜ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਇਸ ਚੰਗੇ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਪੁੱਛਦੇ ਹੋ, ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇੱਕ ਬਲਹੀਨ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਹੋਇਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕਿਸ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।
if we this day are examined concerning a good deed done to an impotent man, by what means this man is made whole;
10 ੧੦ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਮਸੀਹ ਨਾਸਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਨਾਲ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਸਲੀਬ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਮੁਰਦਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਉਂਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਉਸ ਤੋਂ ਇਹ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਚੰਗਾ ਭਲਾ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਹੈ।
be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, [even] in him doth this man stand here before you whole.
He is the stone which was set at nought of you the builders, which was made the head of the corner.
12 ੧੨ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਤੋਂ ਮੁਕਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਅਕਾਸ਼ ਦੇ ਹੇਠਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਾਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਤੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਬਚਾਏ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਾਂ।
And in none other is there salvation: for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, wherein we must be saved.
13 ੧੩ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਦੀ ਦਲੇਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਮੰਨਿਆ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵਿਦਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਸਗੋਂ ਆਮ ਲੋਕ ਹੀ ਹਨ। ਫੇਰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ, ਕਿ ਇਹ ਦੋਨੋ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ।
Now when they beheld the boldness of Peter and John, and had perceived that they were unlearned and ignorant men, they marveled; and they took knowledge of them, that they had been with Jesus.
14 ੧੪ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਵੱਲ ਖੜ੍ਹਾ ਵੇਖ ਕੇ ਇਹ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੁਝ ਨਾਮ ਕਹਿ ਸਕੇ।
And seeing the man which was healed standing with them, they could say nothing against it.
But when they had commanded them to go aside out of the council, they conferred among themselves,
16 ੧੬ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਕੀ ਕਰੀਏ? ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਪੱਕਾ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਇਹ ਪਰਗਟ ਹੋਇਆ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਅਸੀਂ ਇਨਕਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੇ।
saying, What shall we do to these men? for that indeed a notable miracle hath been wrought through them, is manifest to all that dwell in Jerusalem; and we cannot deny it.
17 ੧੭ ਆਓ, ਅਸੀਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਬਕਾਈਏ ਜੋ ਇਸ ਨਾਮ ਦਾ ਫੇਰ ਕਿਸੇ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਚਰਚਾ ਨਾ ਕਰਨ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੋਰ ਨਾ ਫੈਲ ਜਾਏ।
But that it spread no further among the people, let us threaten them, that they speak henceforth to no man in this name.
18 ੧੮ ਤਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੋਲ ਸੱਦ ਕੇ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਯਿਸੂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਲੈ ਕੇ, ਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੇਣੀ।
And they called them, and charged them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.
19 ੧੯ ਪਰ ਪਤਰਸ ਅਤੇ ਯੂਹੰਨਾ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉੱਤਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਕਰੋ, ਕੀ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਇਹ ਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਅਸੀਂ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਤੁਹਾਡੀ ਵੱਧ ਸੁਣੀਏ?।
But Peter and John answered and said unto them, Whether it be right in the sight of God to hearken unto you rather than unto God, judge ye:
for we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.
21 ੨੧ ਤਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਦਬਕਾ ਕੇ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਲਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਕੋਈ ਕਾਰਨ ਨਾਮ ਮਿਲਿਆ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਸਭ ਲੋਕ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਕਰਦੇ ਸਨ।
And they, when they had further threatened them, let them go, finding nothing how they might punish them, because of the people; for all men glorified God for that which was done.
For the man was more than forty years old, on whom this miracle of healing was wrought.
23 ੨੩ ਫਿਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਤਾਂ, ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਥੀਆਂ ਕੋਲ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੁਝ ਮੁੱਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ ਸੀ, ਦੱਸ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
And being let go, they came to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and the elders had said unto them.
24 ੨੪ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਹ ਸੁਣਿਆ ਤਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਇੱਕ ਮਨ ਹੋ ਕੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਅਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ, ਤੁਸੀਂ ਹੀ ਅਕਾਸ਼, ਧਰਤੀ, ਸਮੁੰਦਰ ਅਤੇ ਸਭ ਕੁਝ ਜੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੈ, ਰਚਿਆ।
And they, when they heard it, lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, O Lord, thou that didst make the heaven and the earth and the sea, and all that in them is:
25 ੨੫ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਪੁਰਖੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੀ ਜੁਬਾਨੀ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਕੌਮਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਡੰਡ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਉੱਮਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਅਰਥ ਸੋਚਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਸੋਚੀਆਂ ਹਨ?”
who by the Holy Ghost, [by] the mouth of our father David thy servant, didst say, Why did the Gentiles rage, And the peoples imagine vain things?
The kings of the earth set themselves in array, And the rulers were gathered together, Against the Lord, and against his Anointed:
27 ੨੭ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਸੱਚ-ਮੁੱਚ ਇਸ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਜਿਸ ਨੂੰ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮਸਹ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੇਰੋਦੇਸ ਅਤੇ ਪੁੰਤਿਯੁਸ ਪਿਲਾਤੁਸ ਪਰਾਈਆਂ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ।
for of a truth in this city against thy holy Servant Jesus, whom thou didst anoint, both Herod and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, were gathered together,
to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel foreordained to come to pass.
29 ੨੯ ਅਤੇ ਹੁਣ ਹੇ, ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਧਮਕੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਖ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਾਸਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਦੇ, ਕਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਬਚਨ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਡਰੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ।
And now, Lord, look upon their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants to speak thy word with all boldness,
30 ੩੦ ਜਦੋਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਹੱਥ ਚੰਗਾ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਵਧਾਓ, ਤਾਂ ਤੇਰੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸੇਵਕ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਅਚਰਜ਼ ਕੰਮ ਹੋਣ।
while thou stretchest forth thy hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done through the name of thy holy Servant Jesus.
31 ੩੧ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਹ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰ ਹਟੇ ਤਾਂ, ਉਹ ਥਾਂ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਉਹ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਹਿੱਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਆਤਮਾ ਨਾਲ ਭਰ ਗਏ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਬਚਨ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਡਰੇ ਸੁਣਾਉਣ ਲੱਗੇ।
And when they had prayed, the place was shaken wherein they were gathered together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
32 ੩੨ ਵਿਸ਼ਵਾਸ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਮੰਡਲੀ ਇੱਕ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ ਜਾਨ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਜਾਇਦਾਦ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਚੀਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਖਿਆ ਪਰ ਉਹ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾਂਝੀਦਾਰ ਸਨ।
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and soul: and not one [of them] said that aught of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.
33 ੩੩ ਅਤੇ ਰਸੂਲ ਵੱਡੀ ਸਮਰੱਥਾ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਯਿਸੂ ਦੇ ਜੀ ਉੱਠਣ ਦੀ ਗਵਾਹੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਭਨਾਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਵੱਡੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸੀ।
And with great power gave the apostles their witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
34 ੩੪ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਗਰੀਬ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਇਸ ਲਈ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਜ਼ਮੀਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਾਲਕ ਸਨ ਉਹ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚ ਕੇ ਵਿਕੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਮੁੱਲ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੇ।
For neither was there among them any that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,
and laid them at the apostles’ feet: and distribution was made unto each, according as any one had need.
36 ੩੬ ਯੂਸੁਫ਼ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਰਨਬਾਸ ਅਰਥਾਤ ਸ਼ਾਂਤੀ ਦਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਨਾਮ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਸੀ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਇੱਕ ਲੇਵੀ ਅਤੇ ਕੁਪਰੁਸ ਦਾ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਸੀ।
And Joseph, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas (which is, being interpreted, Son of exhortation), a Levite, a man of Cyprus by race,
37 ੩੭ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਮੀਨ ਸੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚ ਕੇ ਮੁੱਲ ਦਾ ਰੁਪਿਆ ਲਿਆਂਦਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਸੂਲਾਂ ਦੇ ਚਰਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਰੱਖ ਦਿੱਤਾ।
having a field, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
