2 ਇਤਿਹਾਸ 15
And as for 'Azaryahu the son of 'Oded—on him came the spirit of God;
2 ੨ ਉਹ ਆਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਲਈ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਹੇ ਆਸਾ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ, ਮੇਰੀ ਸੁਣੋ। ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੋ। ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਾਹਵੰਦ ਹੋ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇਗਾ ਪਰ ਜੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦਿਓ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਦੇਵੇਗਾ
And he went out to meet Assa, and said unto him, Hear me, O Assa, and all Judah and Benjamin, The Lord is with you, while ye remain with him; and if ye seek him, he will let himself be found by you; but if ye forsake him, he will forsake you.
3 ੩ ਹੁਣ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸੱਚੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸਿਖਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਜਾਜਕ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ
And many days [had elapsed] for Israel, [they being] without the true God, and without a teaching priest, and without law.
4 ੪ ਪਰ ਜਦ ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਵੱਲ ਮੁੜ ਕੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਚਾਹਵੰਦ ਹੋਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲੱਭ ਪਿਆ
But they returned when they were in distress unto the Lord, the God of Israel, and they sought him, and he let himself be found by them.
5 ੫ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਾਹਰ ਜਾਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਕੁਝ ਸੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਸਗੋਂ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਉੱਤੇ ਬੜੀਆਂ ਔਕੜਾਂ ਸਨ
And in those times there was no peace to him that went out, and to him that came in; but there were great confusions among all the inhabitants of the countries.
6 ੬ ਜਾਤੀ ਜਾਤੀ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਦੇ ਟਾਕਰੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਮਲੀਆਮੇਟ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਪਰਕਾਰ ਦੇ ਦੁੱਖ ਨਾਲ ਤੰਗ ਕਰ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਸੀ
And nation was dashed to pieces against nation, and city against city; for God did confound them with all kind of distress.
But as for you, be ye strong, and let not your hands be weak; for there is a reward for your doing.
8 ੮ ਜਦ ਆਸਾ ਨੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਓਦੇਦ ਨਬੀ ਦੇ ਅਗੰਮ ਵਾਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਸੁਣੀ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹੌਂਸਲਾ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਦੇ ਪਹਾੜੀ ਭਾਗ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਲੈ ਲਏ ਸਨ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੀਆਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਜਗਵੇਦੀ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਡਿਉੜੀ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਸੀ ਫੇਰ ਬਣਵਾਇਆ
And when Assa heard these words, and the prophecy of 'Oded the prophet, he was strengthened, and he put away the abominable idols out of all the land of Judah and Benjamin, and out of the cities which he had captured from the mountain of Ephraim; and he renewed the altar of the Lord, that was before the porch of the Lord.
9 ੯ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਰਦੇਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਇਫ਼ਰਾਈਮ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੱਸ਼ਹ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਿਮਓਨ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਨ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਜਦ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੇਖਿਆ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਆਏ
And he assembled all Judah and Benjamin, and those that sojourned with them out of Ephraim and Menasseh, and out of Simeon; for they had joined him out of Israel in abundance, when they saw that the Lord his God was with him.
And so they assembled themselves at Jerusalem in the third month, in the fifteenth year of the reign of Assa.
11 ੧੧ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਉਸ ਲੁੱਟ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਉਹ ਲਿਆਏ ਸਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਹਜ਼ੂਰ ਸੱਤ ਸੌ ਬਲ਼ਦਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਤ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਭੇਡਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਲੀ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ
And they sacrificed unto the Lord on the same day, of the booty which they had brought, seven hundred oxen and seven thousand sheep.
12 ੧੨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਇੱਕ ਨੇਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ ਗਏ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ਜਾਨ ਨਾਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਲਣ
And they entered into the covenant to seek the Lord the God of their fathers with all their heart and with all their soul;
13 ੧੩ ਅਤੇ ਜੋ ਕੋਈ, ਕੀ ਛੋਟਾ ਕੀ ਵੱਡਾ, ਕੀ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਕੀ ਔਰਤ, ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂ ਨਾ ਹੋਵੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ
So that whosoever would not seek the Lord the God of Israel should be put to death, from the small even up to the great, whether it be man or woman.
14 ੧੪ ਅਤੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਉੱਚੀ ਆਵਾਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਲਲਕਾਰ ਕੇ ਤੁਰ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਰਸਿੰਗਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਧੀ।
And they swore unto the Lord with a loud voice, and with [joyful] shouting, and with trumpets, and with cornets.
15 ੧੫ ਸਾਰਾ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਉਸ ਸਹੁੰ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਗ਼-ਬਾਗ਼ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦਿਲ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸਹੁੰ ਖਾਧੀ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੂਰੀ ਇੱਛਾ ਨਾਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾਲੂ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲ ਗਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਚੁਫ਼ੇਰਿਓਂ ਅਰਾਮ ਦਿੱਤਾ
And all Judah rejoiced because of the oath; for with all their heart had they sworn, and with their whole desire did they seek him, and he let himself be found by them: and the Lord gave them rest on every side.
16 ੧੬ ਅਤੇ ਆਸਾ ਰਾਜਾ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਦਾਦੀ ਮਅਕਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰਾਜਮਾਤਾ ਦੀ ਪਦਵੀ ਤੋਂ ਹਟਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਅਸ਼ੇਰਾਹ ਦੇਵੀ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਅੱਤ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਬਣਾਈ ਸੀ, ਜਿਹੜੀ ਘਿਣਾਉਣੀ ਮੂਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਆਸਾ ਨੇ ਵੱਢ ਕੇ ਚੂਰ-ਚੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਕਿਦਰੋਨ ਦੀ ਵਾਦੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਾੜ ਦਿੱਤਾ
And also concerning Ma'achah the mother of king Assa, he removed her from being queen, because she had made a scandalous image for the grove; and Assa cut down her scandalous image, and had it ground up, and burnt it by the brook Kidron.
17 ੧੭ ਪਰ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉੱਚੇ ਥਾਂ ਢਾਹੇ ਨਾ ਗਏ, ਤਾਂ ਵੀ ਆਸਾ ਦਾ ਮਨ ਸਾਰੀ ਉਮਰ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਨੂੰ ਸਮਰਪਿਤ ਰਿਹਾ।
But the high-places were not removed out of Israel; nevertheless the heart of Assa was entire all his days.
18 ੧੮ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਨੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਠਹਿਰਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ ਨਾਲੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਲਿਆਇਆ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਠਹਿਰਾਈਆਂ ਸਨ, ਅਰਥਾਤ ਚਾਂਦੀ, ਸੋਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਂਡੇ
And be brought the things which his father had sanctified, and his own sanctified things, into the house of God, —silver, and gold, and vessels.
And there was no war until the five-and-thirtieth year of the reign of Assa.
