2 ਇਤਿਹਾਸ 11
1 ੧ ਜਦ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆ ਗਿਆ ਤਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨ ਲਈ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਇੱਕ ਲੱਖ ਅੱਸੀ ਹਜ਼ਾਰ ਯੁੱਧ ਦੇ ਚੁਣਵੇਂ ਸੂਰਮੇ ਇਕੱਠੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਫੇਰ ਰਾਜ ਨੂੰ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਮੋੜ ਲੈਣ
And Rehoboam comes to Jerusalem, and assembles the house of Judah and Benjamin—one hundred and eighty thousand chosen warriors—to fight with Israel, to bring back the kingdom to Rehoboam.
And a word of YHWH is to Shemaiah, a man of God, saying,
3 ੩ ਕਿ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਜੋ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ ਆਖ ਕਿ
“Speak to Rehoboam son of Solomon king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
4 ੪ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਐਉਂ ਫਰਮਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਚੜਾਈ ਨਾ ਕਰਨਾ, ਨਾ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਲੜਨਾ। ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੜ ਜਾਓ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਮੇਰੀ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀਆਂ ਗੱਲਾਂ ਮੰਨ ਲਈਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਉੱਤੇ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈ ਕੀਤੇ ਬਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਮੁੜ ਗਏ।
Thus said YHWH: You do not go up nor fight with your brothers! Let each return to his house, for this thing has been from Me”; and they hear the words of YHWH, and turn back from going against Jeroboam.
And Rehoboam dwells in Jerusalem, and builds cities for a bulwark in Judah,
indeed, he builds Beth-Lehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
and Beth-Zur, and Shocho, and Adullam,
and Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
and Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
and Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, that [are] in Judah and in Benjamin, cities of bulwarks.
11 ੧੧ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਗੜ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਕਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਰਸਦ ਅਤੇ ਤੇਲ ਅਤੇ ਮੈ ਦੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ਰੱਖੇ
And he strengthens the bulwarks, and puts leaders in them, and treasures of food, and oil, and wine,
12 ੧੨ ਅਤੇ ਇੱਕ-ਇੱਕ ਸ਼ਹਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਢਾਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਲੇ ਰਖਵਾ ਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਪੱਕਾ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਉਸ ਲਈ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ।
and in each and every city [he puts] bucklers and spears, and strengthens them very greatly; and he has Judah and Benjamin.
And the priests and the Levites that [are] in all Israel have stationed themselves by him, out of all their border,
14 ੧੪ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਲੇਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲਾਟ ਅਤੇ ਮਲਕੀਅਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਜੋ ਯਾਰਾਬੁਆਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੱਢ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਸਨਮੁਖ ਜਾਜਕਾਈ ਦੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਾ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ
for the Levites have left their outskirts and their possession, and they come to Judah and to Jerusalem, for Jeroboam and his sons have cast them off from acting as priests for YHWH,
and he establishes for himself priests for high places, and for goat [idols] and for calf [idols] that he made.
16 ੧੬ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਘਰਾਣਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਲੋਕੀ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਖੋਜ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਪਣਾ ਦਿਲ ਲਾਇਆ ਸੀ, ਯਰੂਸ਼ਲਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਏ ਕਿ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁਰਖਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਟ ਚੜਾਉਣ
And after them, out of all the tribes of Israel, those giving their heart to seek YHWH, God of Israel, have come to Jerusalem to sacrifice to YHWH, God of their father.
17 ੧੭ ਸੋ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਦੇ ਰਾਜੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੱਕਾ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਨੂੰ ਬਲਵਾਨ ਬਣਾ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤਿੰਨ ਸਾਲ ਦਾਊਦ ਅਤੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੇ ਰਾਹ ਉੱਤੇ ਤੁਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ।
And they strengthen the kingdom of Judah, and strengthen Rehoboam son of Solomon, for three years, because they walked in the way of David and Solomon for three years.
18 ੧੮ ਅਤੇ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਨੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਯਰੀਮੋਥ ਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਯੱਸੀ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਲੀਆਬ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਅਬੀਹੈਲ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਮਹਲਥ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਲਿਆ
And Rehoboam takes a wife for himself, Mahalath, child of Jerimoth son of David, [and of] Abigail daughter of Eliab son of Jesse.
And she bears sons to him: Jeush, and Shamaria, and Zaham.
20 ੨੦ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਮਗਰੋਂ ਉਹ ਨੇ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਮਅਕਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਵਿਆਹ ਲਿਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਅਬਿਯਾਹ, ਅੱਤਈ, ਜ਼ੀਜ਼ਾ ਅਤੇ ਸ਼ਲੋਮੀਥ ਜੰਮੇ
And after her he has taken Maachah daughter of Absalom, and she bears to him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
21 ੨੧ ਅਤੇ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਅਬਸ਼ਾਲੋਮ ਦੀ ਧੀ ਮਅਕਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਰਖ਼ੈਲਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਪਿਆਰ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਠਾਰਾਂ ਰਾਣੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਠ ਰਖ਼ੈਲਾਂ ਸਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਅਠਾਈ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਤੇ ਸੱਠ ਧੀਆਂ ਜੰਮੀਆਂ
And Rehoboam loves Maachah daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines—for he has taken eighteen wives and sixty concubines—and he begets twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.
22 ੨੨ ਅਤੇ ਰਹਬੁਆਮ ਨੇ ਮਅਕਾਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਅਬਿਯਾਹ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਖੀਆ ਨਿਯੁਕਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਆਪਣੇ ਭਰਾਵਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਕਮ ਬਣੇ ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਇਰਾਦਾ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਦਾ ਸੀ
And Rehoboam appoints Abijah son of Maachah for head, for leader among his brothers, for to cause him to reign.
23 ੨੩ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਸਿਆਣਪ ਕੀਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਹੂਦਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਨਯਾਮੀਨ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗੜ੍ਹ ਵਾਲੇ ਸ਼ਹਿਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੱਖੋ-ਵੱਖ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਹੁਤ ਰਸਦ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਹੁਟੀਆਂ ਮੰਗੀਆਂ।
And he has understanding, and disperses from all his sons to all lands of Judah and Benjamin, to all cities of the bulwarks, and gives provision in abundance to them; and he asks for a multitude of wives [for them].
