1 ਇਤਿਹਾਸ 22
Then David said, “Here shall be the house of the LORD God, as well as the altar of burnt offering for Israel.”
2 ੨ ਤਦ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਕਿ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਓਪਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਜਿਹੜੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਦੇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਨ, ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਘੜਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ, ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੀ ਰਚਨਾ ਲਈ ਪੱਥਰ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੌਨੁੱਕਰੀਆਂ ਇੱਟਾਂ ਘੜਨ
So David gave orders to gather the foreigners in the land of Israel, from whom he appointed stonecutters to prepare finished stones for building the house of God.
3 ੩ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਬੂਹਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਚੁਗਾਠਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਕਿੱਲਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਕਬਜ਼ਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰਾ ਲੋਹਾ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਦੇ ਤੋਲ ਦੀ ਕੁਝ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ, ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਢੇਰ ਸਾਰਾ ਸੀ
David provided a large quantity of iron to make the nails for the doors of the gateways and for the fittings, together with more bronze than could be weighed
4 ੪ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਲੱਕੜੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਇਕੱਠੀ ਕੀਤੀ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਸੀਦੋਨੀ ਅਤੇ ਸੂਰ ਦੇ ਵਸਨੀਕ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੀ ਦਿਆਰ ਦੀ ਲੱਕੜੀ ਦਾਊਦ ਦੇ ਕੋਲ ਲਿਆਉਂਦੇ ਸਨ।
and more cedar logs than could be counted; for the Sidonians and Tyrians had brought a large quantity of cedar logs to David.
5 ੫ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਖਿਆ, “ਮੇਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਅਜੇ ਤਾਂ ਨਿਆਣਾ ਅਤੇ ਬਾਲਕ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਭਵਨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਉਹ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਹੋਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਤਾਪ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਜਾਗਰ ਹੋਵੇ, ਇਸ ਲਈ ਮੈਂ ਆਪ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।” ਅਖ਼ੀਰ, ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਤਿਆਰੀਆਂ ਕੀਤੀਆਂ।
And David said, “My son Solomon is young and inexperienced, and the house to be built for the LORD must be exceedingly magnificent—famous and glorious throughout all lands. Therefore I must make preparations for it.” So David made lavish preparations before his death.
6 ੬ ਫਿਰ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਸੱਦਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਭਵਨ ਬਣਾਵੇ।
Then David called for his son Solomon and instructed him to build a house for the LORD, the God of Israel.
7 ੭ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਆਖਿਆ, ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ! ਮੈਂ, ਹਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਹ ਕਲਪਨਾ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਮੈਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਭਵਨ ਬਣਾਵਾਂ।
“My son,” said David to Solomon, “it was in my heart to build a house for the Name of the LORD my God,
8 ੮ ਪਰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਰ ਆਈ, ਕਿ ਤੂੰ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਲਹੂ ਵਹਾਇਆ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ-ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਲੜਾਈਆਂ ਲੜੀਆਂ ਹਨ, ਤੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਭਵਨ ਨਾ ਬਣਾਵੇਂਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਉੱਤੇ ਮੇਰੀ ਨਿਗਾਹ ਵਿੱਚ ਹੱਦੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਲਹੂ ਵਹਾਇਆ ਹੈ।
but this word of the LORD came to me: ‘You have shed much blood and waged great wars. You are not to build a house for My Name because you have shed so much blood on the ground before Me.
9 ੯ ਵੇਖ, ਤੇਰੇ ਘਰ ਇੱਕ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਜੰਮੇਗਾ ਜੋ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਵੈਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਅਰਾਮ ਦਿਆਂਗਾ, ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਸਮੇਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਖ-ਸਾਂਦ ਅਤੇ ਮੇਲ-ਮਿਲਾਪ ਬਖ਼ਸ਼ਾਂਗਾ।
But a son will be born to you who will be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies on every side; for his name will be Solomon, and I will grant to Israel peace and quiet during his reign.
10 ੧੦ ਉਹ ਮੇਰੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਭਵਨ ਬਣਾਏਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਮੇਰਾ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ ਅਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਉਹ ਦਾ ਪਿਤਾ ਹੋਵਾਂਗਾ, ਮੈਂ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਉੱਤੇ ਉਸ ਦੇ ਰਾਜ ਦਾ ਸਿੰਘਾਸਣ ਸਦੀਪਕ ਕਾਲ ਤੱਕ ਸਥਿਰ ਕਰਾਂਗਾ।
He is the one who will build a house for My Name. He will be My son, and I will be his Father. And I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel forever.’
11 ੧੧ ਹੁਣ ਹੇ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਰਹੇ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਤੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋਵੇਂ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਵੇਂ, ਜਿਵੇਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਤੇਰੇ ਲਈ ਆਖਿਆ ਹੈ।
Now, my son, may the LORD be with you, and may you succeed in building the house of the LORD your God, as He said you would.
12 ੧੨ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਕੇਵਲ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਬੁੱਧ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਝ ਦੇਵੇ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਤੈਨੂੰ ਖ਼ਾਸ ਆਗਿਆ ਦੇਵੇ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੀ ਪਾਲਨਾ ਕਰੇਂ।
Above all, may the LORD give you insight and understanding when He puts you in command over Israel, so that you may keep the Law of the LORD your God.
13 ੧੩ ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਸਫ਼ਲ ਹੋਵੇਂਗਾ, ਜੇ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਬਿਧੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਦੇ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਚੱਲੇਂਗਾ, ਜਿਹੜੀਆਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਮੂਸਾ ਨੂੰ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀਆਂ ਸਨ। ਤਕੜਾ ਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹ ਰੱਖ, ਡਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਤੇ ਨਾ ਘਬਰਾ।
Then you will succeed, if you carefully follow the statutes and ordinances that the LORD commanded Moses for Israel. Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or discouraged.
14 ੧੪ ਵੇਖ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੀ ਕਸ਼ਟ ਦੀ ਦਸ਼ਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਭਵਨ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਲੱਖ ਕੰਤਾਰ ਸੋਨਾ ਅਤੇ ਦਸ ਲੱਖ ਕੰਤਾਰ ਚਾਂਦੀ ਅਤੇ ਹੱਦੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਪਿੱਤਲ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਹਾ ਇਕੱਠਾ ਕੀਤਾ, ਜੋ ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤਾਇਤ ਨਾਲ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਲੱਕੜ ਅਤੇ ਪੱਥਰ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਤਿਆਰ ਕੀਤਾ, ਤਾਂ ਤੂੰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਵਾਧਾ ਕਰ ਸਕੇਂ।
Now behold, I have taken great pains to provide for the house of the LORD—100,000 talents of gold, 1,000,000 talents of silver, and bronze and iron too great to be weighed. I have also provided timber and stone, and you may add to them.
15 ੧੫ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਵੀ ਹਨ, ਅਰਥਾਤ ਪੱਥਰ ਘੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ, ਪੱਥਰ ਤੋੜਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਅਤੇ ਤਰਖਾਣ, ਸਭ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰੀਗਰ ਹਰੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਤੇਰੇ ਕੋਲ ਹਨ।
You also have many workers: stonecutters, masons, carpenters, and men skilled in every kind of work—
16 ੧੬ ਸੋਨੇ, ਚਾਂਦੀ, ਪਿੱਤਲ ਅਤੇ ਲੋਹੇ ਦੀ ਤਾਂ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਉੱਠ ਖੜਾ ਹੋ, ਲੱਕ ਬੰਨ ਕੇ ਕੰਮ ਕਰ, ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੇਰੇ ਅੰਗ-ਸੰਗ ਹੋਵੇ!।
in gold and silver, bronze and iron—craftsmen beyond number. Now begin the work, and may the LORD be with you.”
17 ੧੭ ਅਤੇ ਦਾਊਦ ਨੇ ਇਸਰਾਏਲ ਦੇ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਸਰਦਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਦਿੱਤੀ, ਜੋ ਉਹ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤਰ ਸੁਲੇਮਾਨ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕਰਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਆਖਿਆ,
Then David ordered all the leaders of Israel to help his son Solomon:
18 ੧੮ “ਕੀ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਤੁਹਾਡਾ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ? ਕੀ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਹਰ ਪਾਸਿਓਂ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਸੁੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ? ਕਿਉਂ ਜੋ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਵਾਸੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੇਰੇ ਹੱਥ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਹ ਦੇਸ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਅੱਗੇ ਅਤੇ ਉਹ ਦੀ ਪਰਜਾ ਦੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਅਧੀਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ।
“Is not the LORD your God with you, and has He not granted you rest on every side? For He has given the inhabitants of the land into my hand, and the land has been subdued before the LORD and His people.
19 ੧੯ ਸੋ ਹੁਣ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਨ ਅਤੇ ਤਨ ਨਾਲ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੀ ਭਾਲ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੱਗੇ ਰਹੋ ਅਤੇ ਉੱਠ ਕੇ ਖੜੇ ਹੋਵੋ ਅਤੇ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਸਥਾਨ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਓ, ਜੋ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨੇਮ ਦੇ ਸੰਦੂਕ ਨੂੰ ਅਤੇ ਪਰਮੇਸ਼ੁਰ ਦੇ ਪਵਿੱਤਰ ਭਾਂਡਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਸੇ ਭਵਨ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਜਿਹੜਾ ਯਹੋਵਾਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਮ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇਗਾ, ਲੈ ਆਓ।”
Now set your heart and soul to seek the LORD your God. Get started building the sanctuary of the LORD God, so that you may bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD and the holy articles of God into the temple that will be built for the Name of the LORD.”
