1 Ergasii ergamaan Waaqayyoo kan natti dubbachaa ture sun deebiʼee akkuma nama hirribaa dammaqfamuutti na dammaqse.
Then the angel I had been talking to returned and got my attention, like waking someone from sleep.
2 Innis, “Ati maal argita?” jedhee na gaafate. Anis akkana jedheen deebise; “Ani baattuu ibsaa kan guutumaan guututti warqee taʼe cuggeen tokkos isa irra dhaabamee, ibsaawwan torba of irraa qabu kan ibsaawwan sanaaf ujummoowwan torba qabu tokko nan arga.
“What do you see?” he asked me. “I see a lampstand made of solid gold with a bowl at its top having seven lamps on it, each with seven lips.
3 Akkasumas mukkeen ejersaa lama, tokko karaa mirga cuggeetiin, kaan immoo karaa bitaa cuggeetiin jira.”
I also see olive trees, one to the right and one to the left of the bowl.”
4 Anis, “Yaa gooftaa wanni kun maali?” jedheen ergamaa Waaqayyoo kan natti dubbachaa ture sana gaafadhe.
Then I asked the angel I was talking to, “What are these, my lord?”
5 Inni immoo, “Ati isaan maal akka taʼan hin beektuu?” jedhee naaf deebise. Anis, “Yaa gooftaa ko, ani hin beeku” jedheen deebise.
“Don't you know what these are?” the angel replied. “No, my lord,” I responded.
6 Kanaafuu inni akkana naan jedhe; “Kun dubbii Waaqayyoo kan Zarubaabeliif kennamee dha: ‘Hafuura kootiin malee jabinaan yookaan humnaan miti’ jedha Waaqayyo Waan Hunda Dandaʼu.
Then he told me, “This is the Lord's message to Zerubbabel: Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, says the Lord Almighty.
7 “Yaa tulluu guddaa ati maali? Ati fuula Zarubaabel duratti lafa diriiraa taata. Innis, ‘Surraan, surraan isaaf haa taʼu!’ jedhanii iyyaa inni dhagaa xumuraa baasa.”
Even obstacles as big as mountains will be flattened before Zerubbabel. Finally he will bring out the capstone to shouts of ‘Blessings on it!’”
8 Ergasii dubbiin Waaqayyoo akkana jedhee gara koo dhufe:
Then the Lord gave me another message.
9 “Harki Zarubaabel hundee mana qulqullummaa kanaa buuseera; harkuma isaatu ijaaree fixa. Ergasii isin akka Waaqayyo Waan Hunda Dandaʼu isinitti na erge ni beektu.
Zerubbabel with his own hands laid the foundations for this Temple, and it will be completed the same way. Then you will know the Lord Almighty has sent me.
10 “Eenyutu guyyicha waan xinnoo tuffata? Namoonni gaafa harka Zarubaabel keessatti tunbii arganitti ni ililchu. Wantoonni torban kunneen ijawwan Waaqayyoo kanneen lafa hunda irra nanaannaʼanii ilaalanii dha.”
For who dares look down on this time of small beginnings? They will be happy when they see the plumb line in Zerubbabel's hand. “The seven lamps represent the eyes of the Lord which see all over the world.”
11 Anis, “Mukkeen ejersaa lamaan karaa mirgaa fi bitaa baattuu ibsaa jiran kunneen maali?” jedheen ergamaa Waaqayyoo sana gaafadhe.
Then I asked the angel, “What are the two olive trees that stand to the right and the left of the lampstand?”
12 Ammas ani, “Dameen muka ejersaa lamaan ujummoo warqee lamaan biraa kanneen zayitii warqee gad dhangalaasan kunneen maali!” jedheen isa gaafadhe.
And I also asked him, “What are the two olive branches from which the golden oil pours out from through golden pipes?”
13 Innis, “Isaan maal akka taʼan ati hin beektuu?” naan jedhe. Anis, “Yaa gooftaa ko, ani hin beeku” nan jedheen.
“Don't you know?” the angel replied. “No, my lord,” I responded.
14 Kanaafuu inni, “Isaan kunneen warra lamaan akka Gooftaa lafa hundaa tajaajilaniif dibamanii dha” jedhe.
“These are the two who have been anointed who stand by the Lord of all the earth,” he replied.
