Tiitoo 2
1 Ati garuu waan barsiisa dhugaa wajjin deemu barsiisi.
But as for you, you must speak in a manner that befits wholesome teaching.
2 Jaarsoliin akka amala qabeeyyii, kabajamoo fi warra of qaban taʼaniif, akkasumas akka warra amantii dhugaa, jaalalaa fi obsa qabaatan barsiisi.
Exhort aged men to be temperate, grave, sober-minded, robust in their faith, their love and their patience.
3 Akkasuma immoo jaartoliin akka jireenya isaaniitiin kabajamoo taʼan, akka waan gaariis barsiisan malee akka maqaa nama hin balleessine yookaan akka dhugaatii daadhii wayinii baayʼeetiin hin fudhatamne isaan barsiisi.
In the same way exhort aged women to let their conduct be such as becomes consecrated persons. They must not be slanderers nor enslaved to wine-drinking. They must be teachers of what is right.
4 Yoos isaan akka dubartoonni shamarran dhirsoota isaanii fi ijoollee isaanii jaallatan barsiisuu ni dandaʼu;
They should school the young women to be affectionate to their husbands and to their children, to be sober-minded, pure in their lives,
5 akka dubbiin Waaqaa hin tuffatamneefis akka of qaban, akka qulqullaaʼan, akka hojii mana keessaatiin qabaman, akka arjoota taʼan, akka dhirsoota isaaniitiif ajajaman ni barsiisu.
industrious in their homes, kind, submissive to their husbands, so that the Christian teaching may not be exposed to reproach.
6 Akkasumas dargaggoonni akka of qabaniif gorsi.
In the same way exhort the younger men to be discreet,
7 Waan hunda keessatti waan gaarii hojjechuun fakkeenya isaaniif taʼi. Barsiisa kee keessatti amanamaa, kabajamaa fi nama akka salphaatti hin ilaalamne taʼi;
and above all make your own life a pattern of right conduct, having in your teaching no taint of insincerity, but a serious tone,
8 akka warri siin morman waaʼee keenya waan hamaa dubbatan tokko illee dhabanii qaanaʼaniifis dubbii dhugaa kan tuffatamuu hin dandeenye dubbadhu.
and healthy language which no one can censure, so that our opponents may feel ashamed at having nothing evil to say against us.
9 Garboonni waan hundaan akka gooftota isaaniitiif ajajaman, akka gooftota isaanii gammachiisuu yaalan, akka waan gooftonni isaanii dubbataniif deebii mormii hin deebifne barsiisi;
Exhort slaves to be always obedient to their owners, and to give them satisfaction in everything, not contradicting and not pilfering,
10 akka isaan gooftota isaanii jalaa hin hanne, garuu akka barsiisni Fayyisaa keenya Waaqaa karaa hundumaan hawwataa taʼu gochuuf akka isaan amanamummaa guutuu argisiisan barsiisi.
but manifesting perfect fidelity and kind feeling, in order to bring honour to the teaching of our Saviour, God, in all things.
11 Ayyaanni Waaqaa kan fayyina fidu nama hundatti mulʼifameeraatii.
For the grace of God has displayed itself with healing power to all mankind,
12 Ayyaanni kunis Waaqa malee jiraachuu fi hawwii addunyaa ganuun bara kana keessa jireenya of qabiisaa, jireenya qajeelummaatii fi jireenya Waaqatti buluu akka jiraannu nu barsiisa; (aiōn g165)
training us to renounce ungodliness and all the pleasures of this world, and to live sober, upright, and pious lives at the present time, (aiōn g165)
13 kunis yommuu nu abdii keenya isa eebbifamaa jechuunis mulʼachuu ulfina Waaqa keenya guddichaatii fi Fayyisaa keenya Yesuus Kiristoos eeggachaa jirrutti taʼa;
in expectation of the fulfilment of our blessed hope--the Appearing in glory of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ;
14 innis hammina hunda irraa nu furuu fi saba ofii isaa warra waan gaarii hojjechuuf hinaafan ofiif qulqulleeffachuuf jedhee of dabarsee nuuf kenneera.
who gave Himself for us to purchase our freedom from all iniquity, and purify for Himself a people who should be specially His own, zealous for doing good works.
15 Egaa wantoonni ati barsiisuu qabdu kanneenii dha. Taayitaa guutuun jajjabeessi; ifadhus. Namni tokko iyyuu si hin tuffatin.
Thus speak, exhort, reprove, with all impressiveness. Let no one make light of your authority.
