< Weedduu 2 >
1 Ani daraaraa Shaaroon; daraaraa sulula keessaa ti.
I am a narcissus of Sharon, A lily of the valleys.
2 Jaalalleen koo dubarran kaan gidduu ti akkuma daraaraa qoraattii keessaa ti.
As the lily among thorns, So is my love among the daughters.
3 Michuun koo dargaggoota gidduutti akkuma muka hudhaa kan mukkeen bosonaa keessa jiruu ti. Ani gaaddisa isaa jala taaʼuu nan jaalladha; iji isaas natti miʼaawa.
As the apple-tree among the trees of the wood, So is my beloved among the sons: In his shadow have I rapture and sit down; And his fruit is sweet to my taste.
4 Inni galma cidhaatti na geesse; akeekni inni naaf qabu jaalala.
He hath brought me to the house of wine, And his banner over me is love.
5 Sababii ani jaalalaan gaggabeef isin bixxillee wayiniitiin na jajjabeessaa; muka hudhaatiinis na haaromsaa.
Sustain ye me with raisin-cakes, Refresh me with apples; For I am sick of love.
6 Harki isaa bitaa mataa koo jala jira; harki isaa mirgaa immoo na hammata.
His left hand is under my head, And his right hand doth embrace me.
7 Yaa intallan Yerusaalem, ani kuruphee fi borofaan isin kakachiisa; hamma isheen ofumaan feetee kaatutti jaalala hin tuttuqinaa yookaan hin dadammaqsinaa.
I charge you, daughters of Jerusalem, By the gazelles, or by the hinds of the field, That ye stir not up, nor awake [my] love, till he please.
8 Sagaleen michuu kootii, tulluuwwan irra utaalee gaarran irras qaariʼee dhufaa jira.
The voice of my beloved! Behold, he cometh Leaping upon the mountains, Skipping upon the hills.
9 Michuun koo akkuma kuruphee yookaan korma gadamsaa ti. Kunoo inni dallaa keenya duuba dhaabatee foddaa keessaan ilaalaa qaawwa keessaanis mimilʼachaa jira.
My beloved is like a gazelle or a young hart. Behold, he standeth behind our wall, He looketh in through the windows, Glancing through the lattice.
10 Michuun koo dubbatee akkana naan jedhe; “Yaa miidhagduu koo kaʼi! Bareedduu koo kottuu na wajjin deemi.
My beloved spake and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away.
11 Kunoo! Ganni darbeera; bokkaanis caamee sokkeera.
For behold, the winter is past, The rain is over, it is gone:
12 Daraaraan lafa irratti mulʼateera; waqtiin sirbaa gaʼeera; wacni gugees biyya keenya keessatti dhagaʼamaa jira.
The flowers appear on the earth; The time of singing is come, And the voice of the turtle-dove is heard in our land;
13 Mukni harbuu ija jalqabaa baasuu jalqabeera; wayiniin daraares urgaa kenneera. Yaa miidhagduu ko, kaʼii kottu; yaa bareedduu koo na wajjin deemi.”
The fig-tree melloweth her winter figs, And the vines in bloom give forth [their] fragrance. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away!
14 Gugee koo kan holqa dhagaa keessaa, kan iddoo dhoksaa tulluu cinaa keessaa, mee fuula kee na argisiisi; mee sagalee kee na dhageessisi; sagaleen kee miʼaawaadhaatii; fuulli kees namatti tola.
My dove, in the clefts of the rock, In the covert of the precipice, Let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; For sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely.
15 Mee waangoo, waangoodhuma xixinnoo ishee kanneen iddoo dhaabaa wayinii balleessitu nuuf qabaa; iddoon dhaabaa wayinii keenyaa daraaraa jiraatii.
Take us the foxes, The little foxes, that spoil the vineyards; For our vineyards are in bloom.
16 Michuun koo kanuma koo ti; anis kan isaa ti; inni daraaraa keessa dheechifata.
My beloved is mine, and I am his; He feedeth [his flock] among the lilies,
17 Yaa michuu ko, hamma bariʼee gaaddisni baddutti deebiʼi; akkuma kuruphee yookaan akkuma korma gadamsaa kan tulluuwwan irra jiruus taʼi.
Until the day dawn, and the shadows flee away. Turn, my beloved: be thou like a gazelle or a young hart, Upon the mountains of Bether.
