1 Ergasiis ani utuu ergamoonni afur golee lafaa afran irra dhaabatanii akka bubbeen lafatti yookaan galaanatti yookaan muka kamitti iyyuu hin bubbifne bubbee lafaa afran dhowwanuu nan arge.
Then I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth holding back the earth's four winds to prevent any wind from blowing on the earth, or over the sea, or against any tree.
2 Ergamaan chaappaa Waaqa jiraataa qabu kaan immoo utuu karaa baʼa biiftuutiin ol baʼuu nan arge. Innis ergamoota afran akka isaan lafaa fi galaana miidhaniif humni kennameef sana sagalee guddaadhaan waamee,
I watched another angel rise up from the east, holding the seal of the living God. He shouted in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given the power to damage the earth and the sea,
3 “Hamma nu adda tajaajiltoota Waaqa keenyaa irratti chaappaa goonutti lafa yookaan galaana yookaan muka hin miidhinaa” jedhe.
“Don't hurt the earth or the sea or the trees until we have placed a seal on the foreheads of God's true followers!”
4 Anis baayʼina warra chaappeffamanii dhagaʼe: gosa Israaʼel hunda keessaa 144,000 ture.
I was told the number of those who were sealed: one hundred and forty-four thousand. Those who were sealed came from every tribe of the children of Israel:
5 Gosa Yihuudaa keessaa 12,000, gosa Ruubeen keessaa 12,000, gosa Gaad keessaa 12,000,
twelve thousand from the tribe of Judah, twelve thousand from the tribe of Reuben, twelve thousand from the tribe of Gad,
6 gosa Aasheer keessaa 12,000, gosa Niftaalem keessaa 12,000, gosa Minaasee keessaa 12,000,
twelve thousand from the tribe of Asher, twelve thousand from the tribe of Naphtali, twelve thousand from the tribe of Manasseh,
7 gosa Simiʼoon keessaa 12,000, gosa Lewwii keessaa 12,000, gosa Yisaakor keessaa 12,000,
twelve thousand from the tribe of Simeon, twelve thousand from the tribe of Levi, twelve thousand from the tribe of Issachar,
8 gosa Zebuuloon keessaa 12,000, gosa Yoosef keessaa 12,000, gosa Beniyaam keessaa 12,000 turan.
twelve thousand from the tribe of Zebulun, twelve thousand from the tribe of Joseph, twelve thousand from the tribe of Benjamin.
9 Anis kana booddee nan ilaale; kunoo, tuunni guddaan namni tokko iyyuu lakkaaʼuu hin dandeenye kan saba hundumaa, gosa hundumaa, nama hundumaa fi afaan hundumaa keessaa walitti qabame tokko teessoo sana duraa fi fuula Hoolichaa dura dhaabatee ture. Isaanis uffata adaadii uffatanii, damee meexxiis harkatti qabatanii turan.
After this I looked and saw a great crowd that nobody could count, made up of every nation, tribe, people and language. They were standing in front of the throne and the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands.
10 Isaanis sagalee guddaadhaan, “Fayyinni kan Waaqa keenya isa teessoo irra taaʼuutii fi kan Hoolichaati” jedhanii iyyan.
They gave a loud shout, “Salvation is from our God who sits on the throne, and from the Lamb.”
11 Ergamoonni hundinuu teessichatti, maanguddootaa fi uumamawwan lubbuu qabeeyyii afranitti naannaʼanii dhadhaabachaa turan. Isaanis adda isaaniitiin fuula teessoo sanaa duratti gombifamanii Waaqaaf sagadan;
All the angels surrounding the throne, and the elders and the four living creatures, fell down on their faces before the throne, worshipping God.
12 akkanas jedhan: “Ameen! Eebbii fi ulfinni, ogummaan, galanni, kabajni, humnii fi jabinni, bara baraa hamma bara baraatti Waaqa keenyaaf haa taʼu. Ameen!” (aiōn )
“Amen!” they said. “Blessing, glory, wisdom, gratitude, honor, power, and strength, be to God for ever and ever. Amen.” (aiōn )
13 Maanguddoota keessaas inni tokko, “Warri uffata adaadii uffatan kunneen eenyu faʼi? Eessaa dhufan?” jedhee na gaafate.
One of the elders spoke to me and asked, “Who are those who are dressed in white robes, and where have they come from?”
14 Anis, “Yaa Gooftaa, situ beeka” jedheen deebiseef. Inni immoo akkana naan jedhe; “Isaan kunneen warra dhiphina guddaa keessaa baʼanii dhufanii dha; isaanis dhiiga Hoolichaatiin uffata isaanii miicatanii addeeffataniiru.
I replied, “My Lord, you know the answer.” He told me, “These are the ones who have passed through great persecution. They washed their robes, making them white through the blood of the Lamb.
15 Kanaafuu, “Isaan teessoo Waaqaa dura jiru; halkanii guyyaas mana qulqullummaa isaa keessatti isa tajaajilu; inni teessicha irra taaʼee jiru sunis isaan gidduu jiraata.
That's why they can stand in front of God's throne, and they serve him day and night in his Temple. The one who sits on the throne will protect them with his presence.
16 ‘Isaanis siʼachi gonkumaa hin beelaʼan; siʼachis gonkumaa hin dheebotan. Aduun isaan hin dhaʼu;’ hoʼi finiinaanis isaan hin gubu.
They will never be hungry ever again, or thirsty; the sun will not beat down on them and they will not suffer scorching heat,
17 Hoolichi walakkaa teessoo sanaa jiru tiksee isaanii ni taʼaatii; ‘inni gara burqaa bishaan jireenyaatti isaan geessa.’ ‘Waaqnis imimmaan hunda ija isaanii irraa ni haqa.’”
because the Lamb who is at the center of the throne will be their shepherd, and will lead them to springs of living water, and God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.”
