1 Ergamoota torban waciitiiwwan torba qaban keessaa inni tokko gara koo dhufee akkana naan jedhe; “Kottu! Adaba sagaagaltittii guddittii ishee bishaanota baayʼee irra teessu sana irratti raawwatamuuf jiru sittin argisiisaa.
Then one of the seven angels who had the seven bowls came and said to me, “Come, I will show yoʋ the judgment of the great prostitute who sits on many waters.
2 Mootonni lafaa ishee wajjin sagaagalaniiru; warri lafa irra jiraatanis daadhii wayinii sagaagala isheetiin machaaʼaniiru.”
With her the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and those who dwell on the earth have become drunk with the wine of her fornication.”
3 Ergamaan Waaqaa sunis Hafuura Qulqulluudhaan na fuudhee gammoojjiitti na geesse. Achittis dubartii bineensa bildiimaa maqaa arrabsootiin guutame tokko irra teessu nan arge; bineensichis mataa torbaa fi gaanfa kudhan qaba ture.
So he carried me away in the Spirit to a wilderness, and I saw a woman sitting on a scarlet beast that was full of blasphemous names and had seven heads and ten horns.
4 Dubartittiinis uffata dhiilgee fi bildiimaa uffattee warqeen, dhagaa gatii guddaatii fi lulaan miidhagfamtee turte. Harka isheettis xoofoo warqee kan waan jibbisiisaa fi xuraaʼummaa sagaagala isheetiin guutame qabattee turte.
The woman was clothed in purple and scarlet, and adorned with gold, precious stones, and pearls. She held in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filth of her fornication.
5 Adda ishee irrattis maqaan icciitii kan akkana jedhu tokko barreeffamee ture: Baabilon Guddittii, Haadha Sagaagaltootaa fi, Haadha waan Jibbisiisaa Lafaa.
A mysterious name was written on her forehead: “Babylon the great, the mother of prostitutes and of the abominations of the earth.”
6 Akka dubartittiin dhiiga qulqullootaatii fi dhiiga warra Yesuusiif dhugaa baʼaniitiin machoofte nan arge. Anis yommuu ishee argetti baayʼeen dinqifadhe.
And I saw the woman drunk with the blood of the saints, the blood of the martyrs of Jesus. When I saw her, I was greatly amazed.
7 Ergamichis akkana naan jedhe; “Ati maaliif dinqifatta? Icciitii dubartittii fi icciitii bineensicha ishee baatu kan mataa torbaa fi gaanfa kudhan qabu sanaa sitti nan hima.
But the angel said to me, “Why are yoʋ so amazed? I will tell yoʋ the mystery of the woman and of the beast with seven heads and ten horns that carries her.
8 Bineensi ati argite sun dur ture; amma garuu hin jiru; booddee garuu Boolla Qilee keessaa ol baʼee gara badiisa isaa ni dhaqa. Warri lafa irra jiraatan kanneen maqaan isaanii uumama addunyaatii jalqabee kitaaba jireenyaa keessatti hin galmeeffamin yommuu bineensicha arganitti ni dinqisiifatu; sababiin isaas bineensichi dur ture; amma garuu hin jiru; booddee garuu ni dhufa. The beast that yoʋ saw was, and is not, and is about to come up out of the abyss and go to destruction. Those who dwell on the earth, whose names have not been written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, will be amazed when they see that the beast was and is not and is to come. (Abyssos g12)
9 “Kunis sammuu ogummaa qabu gaafata. Mataawwan torban sunis tulluuwwan torban dubartittiin irra teessuu dha.
This calls for a mind that has wisdom: The seven heads are seven mountains on which the woman sits.
10 Akkasumas mataawwan torban sun mootota torba. Isaan keessaas shan kufaniiru; inni tokko jira; inni kaan immoo amma illee hin dhufne; yommuu dhufutti garuu yeroo gabaabaaf turuu qaba.
They are also seven kings. Five have fallen, one is, and another has not yet come; but when he does come, he must remain for only a little while.
11 Bineensichi duraan turee amma immoo hin jirre sun mootii saddeettaffaa dha. Inni mootota torban keessaa tokkoo dha; gara badiisa isaas ni dhaqa.
The beast that was and is not, is an eighth king. Yet he is one of the seven and is on his way to destruction.
12 “Gaanfawwan kurnan ati argite sun mootota kurnan warra amma illee mootummaa hin argatinii dha; taʼus isaan bineensicha wajjin saʼaatii tokko akka moototaatti moʼuuf taayitaa ni fudhatu.
The ten horns that yoʋ saw are ten kings who have not yet received a kingdom, but they will receive authority as kings for one hour with the beast.
13 Isaanis yaaduma tokko qabu; humna isaaniitii fi taayitaa isaaniis dabarsanii bineensichaaf ni kennu.
These kings have one mind and will give their power and authority to the beast.
14 Isaanis Hoolichatti lola ni kaasu; Hoolichi garuu waan Gooftaa gooftotaatii fi Mootii moototaa taʼeef isaan moʼata; warri isa wajjin jiranis warra isaaf waamaman, warra isaaf filatamanii fi warra isaaf amanamanii dha.”
They will make war with the Lamb, but the Lamb will conquer them because he is the Lord of lords and King of kings, and those with him are called, chosen, and faithful.”
15 Ergamaan sunis akkana naan jedhe; “Bishaanonni ati argite kanneen sagaagaltittiin irra teessu sun saboota, namoota, sanyiiwwanii fi afaanota.
Then the angel said to me, “The waters yoʋ saw, where the prostitute sits, are peoples, multitudes, nations, and tongues.
16 Bineensichii fi gaanfawwan kurnan ati argite sun sagaagaltittii ni jibbu. Isaanis ishee onsanii qullaa ishee hambisu; foon ishee ni nyaatu; ibiddaanis ishee gubu.
The beast and the ten horns yoʋ saw will hate the prostitute. They will make her desolate and naked; they will eat her flesh and burn her with fire.
17 Isaanis hamma dubbiin Waaqaa fiixaan baʼutti walii galuudhaan taayitaa isaanii dabarsanii bineensichaaf kennuudhaan akka kaayyoo Waaqaa raawwataniif Waaqni yaada kana garaa isaanii keessa kaaʼeeraatii.
For God has put it into their hearts to carry out his purpose by being of one mind and handing their kingdom over to the beast until the words of God are fulfilled.
18 Dubartittiin ati argite sun magaalattii guddoo mootota lafaa bulchituu dha.”
As for the woman yoʋ saw, she is the great city that has dominion over the kings of the earth.”
