1 Dura Buʼaa Faarfattootaatiif. Faarfannaa Ilmaan Qooraahi kan maahilaati liinootiin Faarfatame. Maskiilii Heemaan Izraahichaa. Yaa Waaqayyo, Waaqa na fayyiftu, ani halkanii fi guyyaa fuula kee duratti nan iyyadha.
“A song or psalm of the sons of Korach, to the chief musician upon Machalath-le'annoth, a Maskil of Heman the Ezrachite.” O Lord the God of my salvation, by day do I cry, [and] at night I am before thee.
2 Kadhannaan koo fuula kee duratti haa dhiʼaatu; atis gurra kee gara iyyannaa kootiitti qabi.
Let my prayer come unto thy presence; incline thy ear unto my entreaty.
For my soul is sated with troubles; and my life draweth nigh unto the nether world. (Sheol h7585)
4 Ani warra boolla keessa buʼanitti nan lakkaaʼame; akka nama humna hin qabnees nan taʼe.
I am counted with those that descend into the pit; I am become as a man without vigor:
5 Ani akka nama gorraʼamee awwaala keessa ciisuutti, akka nama ati deebitee hin yaadanneetti, akka warra eegumsa kee jalaa baʼaniitti, warra duʼan wajjin gatameera.
Free among the dead, like the slain that dwell in the grave, whom thou rememberest no more; and those that are cut off by thy hand.
6 Ati boolla gad fagoo keessa, dukkana hamaa keessas na buufteerta.
Thou hast laid me in the pit of the lower world, in darkness, in the depths.
7 Dheekkamsi kee ulfaatee narra ciiseera; dambalii kee hundas narra garagalchiteerta.
Upon me lieth heavily thy fury, and with all thy billows hast thou afflicted me. (Selah)
8 Michoota koo narraa fageessiteerta; isaan biratti jibbamaa na gooteerta; akka ani jalaa hin baanettis balballi natti cufameera.
Thou hast removed my acquaintances far from me; thou hast rendered me an abomination unto them: I am imprisoned, and I cannot go forth.
9 Iji koo gaddaan dadhabeera. Yaa Waaqayyo, ani guyyuma guyyaan sin waammadha; harka koo illee gara keetti nan balʼifadha.
My eye languisheth by reason of affliction: I call on thee, O Lord, every day, I stretch out unto thee my hands.
10 Ati dinqii kee warra duʼanitti ni argisiiftaa? Warri duʼanis kaʼanii si galateeffatuu?
Wilt thou display wonders to the dead? shall the departed arise [and] thank thee? (Selah)
11 Jaalalli kee awwaala keessatti, amanamummaan kee immoo Qilee keessatti ni labsamaa?
Shall thy kindness be related in the grave? thy faithfulness in the place of corruption?
12 Dinqiiwwan kee dukkana keessatti, yookaan qajeelummaan kee biyya irraanfannaa keessatti ni beekamaa?
Shall thy wonders be acknowledged in the darkness? and thy righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
13 Yaa Waaqayyo, ani garuu akka ati na gargaartuuf gara keetti nan iyyadha; ganamaanis kadhannaan koo fuula kee duratti ni dhiʼaata.
Yet I cry indeed aloud unto thee, O Lord; and in the morning shall my prayer come before thee.
14 Yaa Waaqayyo, ati maaliif na gatta? Fuula kees maaliif na duraa dhokfatta?
Why, O Lord, wilt thou cast off my soul? [why] wilt thou hide thy face from me?
15 Ani ijoollummaa kootii jalqabee rakkadhee duʼuu gaʼeen ture; naasisuun kee na dhiphiseera; abdiis kutadheera.
I am afflicted and perishing from my youth up: I bear thy terrors, I am distracted.
16 Dheekkamsi kee narra yaaʼe; naasisuun kees na balleesseera.
Over me have the fires of thy wrath passed; thy terrors have destroyed me;
17 Isaan guyyaa guutuu akkuma lolaa bishaanii na marsu; guutumaan guutuuttis na liqimsaniiru.
They encompass me like water all the time; they have closed in round about me together.
18 Michoota koo fi warra na jaallatan narraa fudhatteerta; dukkana qofatu michuu naa taʼe.
Thou hast removed far from me lover and friend, my acquaintances [are in] darkness.
