1 Dura Buʼaa Faarfattootaatiif. Yeedaloo, “Daraaraa Kakuutiin” Faarfatame. Faarfannaa Asaaf. Yaa tiksee saba Israaʼel, kan akkuma bushaayeetti Yoosefin geggeessitu nu dhagaʼi; ati kan kiirubeel gidduu teessoo irra teessu, ifiitii mulʼadhu.
For the Chief Musician. To the tune of “The Lilies of the Covenant.” A Psalm by Asaph. Hear us, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead Joseph like a flock, you who sit above the cherubim, shine out.
2 Fuula Efreem, Beniyaamii fi Minaasee duratti humna kee sochoosi; kottuutii nu fayyisi.
Before Ephraim, Benjamin, and Manasseh, stir up your might! Come to save us!
3 Yaa Waaqi, iddoo keenyatti nu deebisi; akka fayyinuufis fuula kee nurratti ibsi.
Turn us again, God. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.
4 Yaa Waaqayyo, Waaqa Waan Hunda Dandeessu, ati hamma yoomiitti kadhannaa saba keetiitti aarta?
LORD God of Armies, how long will you be angry against the prayer of your people?
5 Ati buddeena imimmaanii isaan nyaachifte; imimmaan waciitii guutuus isaan obaafte.
You have fed them with the bread of tears, and given them tears to drink in large measure.
6 Ati akka olloonni keenya nu tuffatan goote; diinonni keenyas nutti qoosu.
You make us a source of contention to our neighbors. Our enemies laugh among themselves.
7 Yaa Waaqa Waan Hunda Dandeessu, iddoo keenyatti nu deebisi; akka nu fayyinuufis fuula kee nurratti ibsi.
Turn us again, God of Armies. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.
8 Ati muka wayinii biyya Gibxii buqqiftee fidde; ormootas ariitee muka sana dhaabde.
You brought a vine out of Egypt. You drove out the nations, and planted it.
9 Mukichaafis lafa qopheessite; mukni sunis hidda gad fageeffatee biyyattii guute.
You cleared the ground for it. It took deep root, and filled the land.
10 Tulluuwwan gaaddisa isaatiin, birbirsawwan gurguddaanis dameewwan isaatiin haguugaman.
The mountains were covered with its shadow. Its boughs were like God’s cedars.
11 Innis dameewwan isaa gara Galaanaatti, lata isaas hamma Lagaatti diriirfate.
It sent out its branches to the sea, its shoots to the River.
12 Yoos ati maaliif akka namni achiin darbu hundinuu ija isaa ciratu gochuuf jettee dallaa isaa diigde ree?
Why have you broken down its walls, so that all those who pass by the way pluck it?
13 Kormi booyyee bosona keessaa baʼee isa ni balleessa; bineensi dirrees isa ni nyaata.
The boar out of the wood ravages it. The wild animals of the field feed on it.
14 Yaa Waaqa Waan Hunda Dandeessu, si kadhannaa gara keenyatti deebiʼi! Samii irraa gad ilaalii argi! Muka wayinii kana eegi;
Turn again, we beg you, God of Armies. Look down from heaven, and see, and visit this vine,
15 mukni kun muka wayinii kan harki kee mirgaa dhaabee dha; biqiltuu ati ofii keetiif guddifattee dha.
the stock which your right hand planted, the branch that you made strong for yourself.
16 Wayiniin kee ciramee ibiddaan gubameera; sabni kees dheekkamsa keetiin bada.
It’s burned with fire. It’s cut down. They perish at your rebuke.
17 Harki kee namicha karaa harka kee mirgaa jiru irra, ilma namaa kan ati ofii keetiif guddifatte irra haa boqotu.
Let your hand be on the man of your right hand, on the son of man whom you made strong for yourself.
18 Yoos nu sirraa hin garagallu; jireenya nuu kenni; nus maqaa kee ni waammannaa.
So we will not turn away from you. Revive us, and we will call on your name.
19 Yaa Waaqayyo, Waaqa Waan Hunda Dandeessu iddoo keenyatti nu deebisi; akka nu fayyinuufis fuula kee nurratti ibsi.
Turn us again, LORD God of Armies. Cause your face to shine, and we will be saved.
