1 Dura Buʼaa Faarfattootaatiif. Miʼa Ribuutiin. Faarfannaa Asaaf. Yihuudaa keessatti Waaqni beekamaa dha; maqaan isaas Israaʼel keessatti guddaa dha.
People in Judah know God; the Israeli people honor him [MTY].
2 Dunkaanni isaa Saalem keessa, iddoon jireenya isaa Xiyoon keessa jira.
His home is in Jerusalem; he lives on Zion [Hill].
3 Innis achitti xiyya bobaʼuu fi gaachana, goraadee fi meeshaawwan waraanaa caccabse.
There he broke the flaming arrows [that his enemies shot], [and he also broke] their shields and swords and other weapons that they used in battles.
4 Ati ifa uffattee miidhagdeerta; ati tulluuwwan bara baraa caalaa Surra qabeessa.
God, you are glorious! You are like a king [as you return from] the mountains [where you defeated your enemies].
5 Gootonni boojiʼamaniiru; hirribaanis fudhatamaniiru; duultota keessaas namni tokko iyyuu harka sochoofachuu hin dandeenye.
Their brave soldiers [were killed, and then those who killed them] took away everything that those soldiers had. Those enemies died [EUP], [so] they were unable to use their weapons [any more]!
6 Yaa Waaqa Yaaqoob, ifannaa keetiin fardeenii fi warri fardeen yaabbatan of wallaalaniiru.
When you, the God whom Jacob [worshiped], rebuked [your enemies], [the result was that their] horses and their riders fell down dead.
7 Siʼi qofatu sodaatamuu qaba. Yommuu ati aartu eenyutu fuula kee dura dhaabachuu dandaʼaa?
But you cause everyone to be afraid. When you are angry [and you punish people], no one can [RHQ] endure it.
8 Ati samii irraa murtii kennite; laftis ni sodaatte; ni calʼiftes;
From heaven you proclaimed that you would judge people, [and then everyone on] the earth was afraid and did not say [anything more],
9 yaa Waaqi, wanni kunis yommuu ati murtii kennuudhaaf, rakkattoota biyyattii fayyisuuf kaatetti taʼe.
when you arose to declare that you would punish [wicked people] and rescue all those whom they had oppressed.
10 Dheekkamsi ati namatti dheekkamtu dhugumaan ulfina siif fida; warra dheekkamsa kee irraa hafanis ni hidhatta.
When [you punish those] with whom you are angry, your people will praise you, and [your enemies] who (survive/are not killed) will worship you on your festival days.
11 Waaqayyo Waaqa keessaniif wareegaa; wareegichas guuttadhaa; warri naannoo isaa jiraatan hundinuus Waaqa sodaatamuu qabu sanaaf kennaawwan haa fidan.
[So] give to Yahweh the offerings that you promised to give to him; all the people of nearby people-groups should also bring gifts to him, the one who is awesome.
12 Inni hafuura bulchitootaa ni cabsa; mootonni lafaas isa sodaatu.
He humbles [IDM] princes, and [even] causes [great] kings to be terrified.
