Faarfannaa 70

1 Dura buʼaa faarfattootaatiif. Faarfannaa Daawiti. Yaa Waaqi, na fayyisuuf ariifadhu; yaa Waaqayyo, na gargaaruuf dafii kottu.

God, please save me! Yahweh, come quickly to help me!

2 Warri lubbuu koo galaafachuu barbaadan hundinuu, haa qaanaʼan; haa burjaajaʼanis; warri badii koo hawwan hundi qaanaʼanii duubatti haa deebiʼan.

Humble those who are happy about my troubles/difficulties, and cause them to be disgraced/ashamed. Chase away those who are trying to kill me.

3 Warri, “Baga! Baga!” anaan jedhan qaanaʼanii duubatti haa deebiʼan.

I hope/desire that you will cause them to become dismayed and ashamed [because you have defeated them].

4 Warri si barbaadan hundinuu garuu sitti gammadanii haa ililchan; warri fayyisuu kee jaallatan, yeroo hunda, “Waaqni guddaa dha!” haa jedhan.

[But] I hope/desire that all those who go to [worship] you will be very joyful [DOU]. I want those who love you because you saved them to shout repeatedly [HYP], “God is great!”

5 Ani garuu hiyyeessaa fi rakkataa dha; yaa Waaqi, dafii na qaqqabi. Ati gargaaraa koo fi fayyisaa koo ti; yaa Waaqayyo hin turin.

As for me, I am poor and needy [DOU]; [so] God, come quickly to help me! Yahweh, you are the one who saves and helps me, [so please] come quickly!
