Faarfannaa 56

1 Dura buʼaa faarfattootaatiif. Yeedaloo “Gugee Qilxuu Fagoo irraa” jedhuun faarfatame. Miiktaamii Faarfannaa Daawit. Innis yeroo Filisxeemonni Gaati keessatti isa qaban faarfate. Yaa Waaqi na maari; diinonni koo akka malee na ariʼu; guyyaa guutuus na cunqursu.

For the Leader; upon Jonath-elem-rehokim. A Psalm of David; Michtam; when the Philistines took him in Gath. Be gracious unto me, O God, for man would swallow me up; all the day he fighting oppresseth me.

2 Diinonni koo guyyaa guutuu na gaadu; namoonni baayʼeen of tuulummaadhaan na lolu.

They that lie in wait for me would swallow me up all the day; for they are many that fight against me, O Most High,

3 Ani yommuun sodaadhutti sin amanadha.

In the day that I am afraid, I will put my trust in Thee.

4 Waaqa ani dubbii isaa jajadhu, Waaqa nan amanadha; homaa hin sodaadhu. Namni duʼa hin oolle maal na gochuu dandaʼa?

In God — I will praise His word — in God do I trust, I will not be afraid; what can flesh do unto me?

5 Isaan guyyaa guutuu dubbii koo micciiru; na miidhuudhaafis yeroo hunda natti malatu.

All the day they trouble mine affairs; all their thoughts are against me for evil.

6 Isaan ni mariʼatu; ni riphus; lubbuu koo galaafachuuf jedhanii tarkaanfii koo eeggatu.

They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps; according as they have waited for my soul.

7 Sababii hammina isaaniitiif akka isaan miliqan hin godhin; yaa Waaqi, dheekkamsa keetiin saboota gad deebisi.

Because of iniquity cast them out; in anger bring down the peoples, O God.

8 Gadadamu koo galmeessi; imimmaan koos kitaaba kee keessatti barreessi; isaan galmee kee keessa jiru mitii?

Thou has counted my wanderings; put Thou my tears into Thy bottle; are they not in Thy book?

9 Yommuu ani gargaarsaaf si waammadhutti, diinonni koo dugda duuba deebiʼu. Anis kanaan akka Waaqni na wajjin jiru beeka.

Then shall mine enemies turn back in the day that I call; this I know, that God is for me.

10 Waaqa ani dubbii isaa jajadhu, Waaqayyo ani dubbii isaa jajadhu,

In God — I will praise His word — in the LORD — I will praise His word —

11 Waaqa nan amanadha; ani homaa hin sodaadhu. Namni maal na gochuu dandaʼa?

In God do I trust, I will not be afraid; what can man do unto me?

12 Yaa Waaqi wareegni kee narra jira; aarsaa galataas siif nan dhiʼeessa.

Thy vows are upon me, O God; I will render thank-offerings unto Thee.

13 Akka ani fuula Waaqaa dura, ifa jireenyaa keessa deddeebiʼuuf, ati lubbuu koo duʼa jalaa, miilla koos gufachuu oolchiteertaatii.

For thou hast delivered my soul from death; hast Thou not delivered my feet from stumbling? that I may walk before God in the light of the living.
