Faarfannaa 54

1 Dura buʼaa faarfattootaatiif. Miʼa ribuutiin. Maskiilii Daawit. Yeroo warri Ziif Saaʼol bira dhaqanii, “Daawit nu gidduu dhokatee jira” jedhanitti faarfatame. Yaa Waaqi, maqaa keetiin na fayyisi; humna keetiinis naa murteessi.

To the Chief Musician: with Stringed Instruments. A Psalm of Instruction, of David. When the Ziphites came and said unto Saul, Is not, David, hiding himself, with us? O God! by thine own Name, save me, And, by thine own strength, wilt thou vindicate me?

2 Yaa Waaqi, kadhannaa koo naa dhagaʼi, dubbii afaan kootiis dhaggeeffadhu.

O God! Hear my prayer, Give ear to the sayings of my mouth;

3 Keessumoonni natti kaʼaniiruutii; warri garaa namaa hin laafne lubbuu koo galaafachuu barbaadu; Isaanis warra Waaqaaf ulfina hin kenninee dha.

For, aliens, have risen up against me, And, men of violence, have sought my life, They have not set God before them. (Selah)

4 Kunoo, Waaqni gargaaraa koo ti; Gooftaan jiraachisaa lubbuu koo ti.

Lo! God, is bringing me help, My Lord, is with the upholders of my life;

5 Hamminni warra maqaa na balleessanii isaanumatti haa deebiʼu; atis amanamummaa keetiin isaan balleessi.

Let him turn back the mischief upon mine adversaries, In thy faithfulness, destroy them!

6 Ani fedhii kootiin aarsaa siif dhiʼeessa; yaa Waaqayyo, ani maqaa kee nan galateeffadha; inni gaariidhaatii.

With a freewill-offering, will I sacrifice unto thee, I will praise thy Name, O Yahweh, for it is good;

7 Inni dhiphina koo hundumaa keessaa na baaseeraatii; iji koos ol aantummaadhaan diinota koo of jalatti ilaaleera.

For, out of all distress, hath he rescued me, —And, upon my foes, hath, mine own eye, looked.
