Faarfannaa 44
1 Dura buʼaa faarfattootaatiif. Maskiilii Ilmaan Qooraahi. Yaa Waaqi, waan ati bara durii, jabana isaanii keessa hojjette sana, abbootiin keenya nutti himaniiru; nuus gurra keenyaan dhageenyeerra.
For the Leader; a Psalm of the sons of Korah. Maschil. O God, we have heard with our ears, our fathers have told us; a work Thou didst in their days, in the days of old.
2 Ati harka keetiin saboota ariitee baafte; abbootii keenya immoo ni dhaabde; namoota ni balleessite; abbootii keenya garuu bilisa baafte.
Thou with Thy hand didst drive out the nations, and didst plant them in; Thou didst break the peoples, and didst spread them abroad.
3 Harka kee mirgaatiin, irree keetii fi ifa fuula keetiitiin dhaalan malee isaan goraadee isaaniitiin lafa sana hin dhaalle; yookaan irreen isaanii moʼannoo isaaniif hin fidne; ati isaan jaallatteertaatii.
For not by their own sword did they get the land in possession, neither did their own arm save them; but Thy right hand, and Thine arm, and the light of Thy countenance, because Thou wast favourable unto them.
4 Ati Mootii koo fi Waaqa koo kan Yaaqoobiif moʼicha ajajjuu dha.
Thou art my King, O God; command the salvation of Jacob.
5 Nu siin diinota keenya duubatti deebifna; maqaa keetiinis amajaajota keenya gad dhidhiinna.
Through Thee do we push down our adversaries; through Thy name do we tread them under that rise up against us.
6 Ani iddaa koo hin amanadhu; goraadeen koos moʼannaa naa hin fidu;
For I trust not in my bow, neither can my sword save me.
7 ati garuu diinota keenya jalaa nu oolchita; warra nu jibban immoo ni qaanessita.
But Thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.
8 Nu yeroo hundumaa Waaqaan dhaadanna; maqaa kees bara baraan ni galateeffanna.
In God have we gloried all the day, and we will give thanks unto Thy name for ever. (Selah)
9 Amma garuu ati nu gatteerta; gadis nu deebifteerta; ati loltoota keenya wajjin hin baane.
Yet Thou hast cast off, and brought us to confusion; and goest not forth with our hosts.
10 Akka nu diinota keenya baqannu nu gooteerta; warri nu jibbanis nu saamaniiru.
Thou makest us to turn back from the adversary; and they that hate us spoil at their will.
11 Ati akka hoolota qalamuuf qopheeffamanii nu gooteerta; ormoota keessas nu bittinneessiteerta.
Thou hast given us like sheep to be eaten; and hast scattered us among the nations.
12 Saba kee gatii xinnaatti gurgurteerta; gurgurtaa isaanii irraas buʼaa hin arganne.
Thou sellest Thy people for small gain, and hast not set their prices high.
13 Ollaa keenya duratti nama kolfaa, warra naannoo keenyaa birattis waan qoosaatii fi nama tuffii nu gooteerta.
Thou makest us a taunt to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.
14 Ormoota keessatti waan mammaaksaa nu goote; namoonnis mataa nutti raasan.
Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.
15 Salphinni koo guyyaa guutuu fuula koo dura jira; fuulli koos qaaniidhaan haguugameera.
All the day is my confusion before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,
16 Kunis sababii dubbii warra na tuffataniitii fi warra na arrabsaniitiif, sababii diinaatii fi sababii nama haaloo baafatuutiif taʼe.
For the voice of him that taunteth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the revengeful.
17 Kun hundi nutti dhufeera; taʼus nu si hin daganne; yookaan kakuu kee keessatti amanamummaa hin dhabne.
All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten Thee, neither have we been false to Thy covenant.
18 Garaan keenya dugda duubatti hin deebine; tarkaanfiin keenyas karaa kee irraa hin jalʼanne.
Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from Thy path;
19 Ati garuu iddoo waangoonni jiraatanitti nu caccabsite; dukkana hamaadhaan nu haguugde.
Though Thou hast crushed us into a place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20 Utuu nu maqaa Waaqa keenyaa irraanfannee, yookaan utuu harka keenya gara waaqa ormaatti balʼifannee jiraannee,
If we had forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god;
21 silaa Waaqni waan kana bira hin gaʼu turee? Inni icciitii garaa namaa beekaatii.
Would not God search this out? For He knoweth the secrets of the heart.
22 Nu siif jennee guyyaa guutuu ni ajjeefamna; akka hoolota qalamuuf jiraniittis lakkaaʼamneerra.
Nay, but for Thy sake are we killed all the day; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
23 Yaa Gooftaa dammaqi! Ati maaliif rafta? Kaʼi! Bara baraanis nu hin gatin.
Awake, why sleepest Thou, O Lord? Arouse Thyself, cast not off for ever.
24 Ati maaliif fuula kee dhokfatta? Maaliifis dhiphinaa fi hacuucamuu keenya irraanfatta?
Wherefore hidest Thou Thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?
25 Lubbuun keenya biyyootti dabalamteertii; garaan keenyas lafatti maxxaneera.
For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaveth unto the earth.
26 Kaʼiitii nu gargaar; sababii jaalala kee kan hin geeddaramneetiifis nu furi.
Arise for our help, and redeem us for Thy mercy's sake.
