< Faarfannaa 35 >

1 Faarfannaa Daawit. Yaa Waaqayyo, warra anaan mormaniin mormi; warra na lolanis loli.
Of David himself. O Lord, judge those who harm me; assail those who attack me.
2 Gaachanaa fi miʼa lolaa qabadhu; na gargaaruudhaafis kaʼi.
Take hold of weapons and a shield, and rise up in assistance to me.
3 Warra na ariʼanitti eeboo fi bodee luqqifadhu. Lubbuu kootiinis, “Fayyinni kee ana” jedhi.
Bring forth the spear, and close in on those who persecute me. Say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”
4 Warri lubbuu koo barbaadan, haa qaanaʼan; haa salphatanis; warri na balleessuuf mariʼatanis, abdii kutatanii duubatti haa deebiʼan.
Let them be confounded and in awe, who pursue my soul. Let them be turned back and be confounded, who think up evil against me.
5 Akka habaqii qilleensaan fudhatamee haa taʼan; ergamaan Waaqayyoos isaan haa ariʼu.
May they become like dust before the face of the wind, and let the Angel of the Lord hem them in.
6 Karaan isaanii dukkanaaʼaa fi mucucaataa haa taʼu; ergamaan Waaqayyoos isaan haa ariʼu.
May their way become dark and slippery, and may the Angel of the Lord pursue them.
7 Isaan sababii malee kiyyoo isaanii dhoksanii na dura kaaʼaniiruutii; sababii malees boolla naa qotaniiru;
For, without cause, they have concealed their snare for me unto destruction. Over nothing, they have rebuked my soul.
8 utuu inni hin beekin badiisni isatti haa dhufu; kiyyoon inni dhokse sunis isuma haa qabu; boolluma qote sanattis haa kufu.
Let the snare, of which he is ignorant, come upon him, and let the deception, which he has hidden, take hold of him: and may he fall into that very snare.
9 Yoos lubbuun ko, Waaqayyotti gammaddi; fayyisuu isaattis ni ililchiti.
But my soul will exult in the Lord and delight over his salvation.
10 Lafeen koo hundi akkana siin jedha: “Yaa Waaqayyo, kan akka keetii eenyu? Ati dadhabdoota warra isaan caalaa jabaatan jalaa baafta; hiyyeeyyii fi rakkattoota illee saamtota jalaa baafta.”
All my bones will say, “Lord, who is like you?” He rescues the needy from the hand of the stronger one, the indigent and the poor from those who plunder him.
11 Dhuga baatonni sobaa natti kaʼan; waan ani waaʼee isaa hin beeknes na gaafatu.
Unfair witnesses have risen up, interrogating me about things of which I am ignorant.
12 Isaan qooda waan gaarii waan hamaa naa deebisu; lubbuu koos kophaatti hambisu.
They repaid me evil for good, to the deprivation of my soul.
13 Ani garuu yeroo isaan dhibamanitti, wayyaa gaddaa nan uffadhe; lubbuu koos soomaan nan miidhe. Yeroo kadhannaan koo deebii malee hafettis
But as for me, when they were harassing me, I was clothed with haircloth. I humbled my soul with fasting, and my prayer will become my sinews.
14 ani akkuma waan michuu kootiif yookaan obboleessa kootiif gadduutti, gaddaan asii fi achi deddeebiʼe. Akkuma waan haadha kootiif booʼuuttis, gaddaan mataa koo nan buuse.
Like a neighbor, and like our brother, so did I please; like one mourning and contrite, so was I humbled.
15 Isaan garuu yeroo ani gufadhetti gammadanii walitti qabaman; utuu ani hin beekin na marsan; utuu wal irraa hin kutinis na cicciratan.
And they have been joyful against me, and they joined together. Scourges have been gathered over me, and I was ignorant of it.
16 Isaan akkuma warra Waaqatti hin bulleetti hamminaan natti qoosan; ilkaan isaanii illee natti qaratan.
They have been scattered, yet they were unremorseful. They have tested me. They scoffed at me with scorn. They gnashed their teeth over me.
17 Yaa Gooftaa, ati hamma yoomiitti calʼistee ilaalta? Lubbuu koo badiisa isaan fidan jalaa, jireenya koos leenca jalaa baasi.
Lord, when will you look down upon me? Restore my soul from before their malice, my only one from before the lions.
18 Ani wal gaʼii guddaa keessatti sin galateeffadha; tuuta guddaa keessatti sin jajadha.
I will confess to you in a great Church. I will praise you among a weighty people.
19 Warri akkasumaan diina natti taʼan natti hin gammadin; warri sababii malee na jibban sunis ija natti hin qisin.
May those who are my unjust adversaries not be glad over me: those who have hated me without cause, and who nod agreement with their eyes.
20 Isaan nagaa hin dubbatan; warra qabbanaan biyya keessa jiraatanittis, mala sobaa malatu.
For indeed, they spoke peacefully to me; and speaking with passion to the earth, they intended deceit.
21 Isaanis, “Baga! Baga! Ijuma keenyaan isa argine” jedhanii afaan natti banatu.
And they opened their mouth wide over me. They said, “Well, well, our eyes have seen.”
22 Yaa Waaqayyo, ati waan kana argiteerta; hin calʼisin. Yaa gooftaa, narraa hin fagaatin.
You have seen, O Lord, do not be silent. Lord, do not depart from me.
23 Yaa Waaqa koo fi Gooftaa ko, ati mirga kootiif, dhimma kootiifis dammaqi; kaʼi!
Rise up and be attentive to my judgment, to my cause, my God and my Lord.
24 Yaa Waaqayyo Waaqa ko, akkuma qajeelummaa keetiitti naa murteessi; akka isaan natti gammadanis hin godhin.
Judge me according to your justice, O Lord, my God, and do not let them be glad over me.
25 Akka isaan, “Baga! Akkuma nu barbaanne taʼeera!” jedhan, yookaan akka isaan, “Nu isa liqimsineerra” jedhan hin godhin.
Do not let them say in their hearts, “Well, well, to our soul.” Neither let them say, “We have devoured him.”
26 Warri dhiphina kootti gammadan hundinuu haa qaanaʼan; haa burjaajaʼanis; warri natti kooran hundinuus, qaanii fi salphina haa uffatan.
Let them blush and be in awe together, those who congratulate at my misfortunes. Let them be clothed with confusion and awe, who speak great things against me.
27 Warri qajeelumma koo jaallatan, sagalee guddaadhaan haa ililchan; haa gammadanis. Isaan yeroo hunda, “Waaqayyo inni nagaa garbicha isaatti gammadu guddaa dha” haa jedhan.
Let them exult and rejoice, who wish my justice, and let them ever say, “The Lord be magnified,” who will the peace of his servant.
28 Arrabni koo qajeelummaa kee, guyyaa guutuus galata kee odeessa.
And so my tongue will express your justice: your praise all day long.
